Devina, the only reason I gave you a 3-star guest rating was due to your initial communication, which I believed to be genuine. Unfortunately, it became clear that your complaints was tied to your intent to request a partial refund. As I stated in my review of you as a guest, I will not be hosting you again and would caution other hosts unless they are prepared to offer a free or discounted stay. It's disheartening when guests attempt to exploit hosts despite the effort we put into creating a welcoming and comfortable experience. I truly hope going forward, you will approach your stays with honesty and accountability rather than manipulation.

Heather, I am not surprised by this review, as you clearly stated in writing that if you did not receive a 20% refund, you would leave a negative review. During your stay, we responded immediately to the hot tub temperature concern and dispatched maintenance without delay. Multiple service professionals evaluated the system. Maintenance confirmed that a new heating system had already been ordered, and a temporary bypass was installed while awaiting the new unit. By Sunday morning, the hot tub was confirmed operational. The additional concerns mentioned in this review including kitchen inventory, linens, and furniture were not raised during your stay. Maintenance was already on-site immediately and would have provided additional utensils, towels, or any other requested supplies had they been mentioned. We take responsibility for issues that are communicated to us and act promptly when given the opportunity to resolve them. Despite our documented efforts and service expenses, you demanded a 20% refund or a negative review. A $100 goodwill refund was issued; however, we do not provide compensation in exchange for avoiding negative reviews. We stand by our responsiveness, transparency, and commitment to hosting large groups successfully. Other hosts be warned!

Hello Morgan, Thank you for your message. I want to be very clear that I dispute the claims in your review. During your stay, you did not raise any of these concerns with me at any point, and there were no complaints communicated while you were at the property. If these issues were truly affecting your stay, I would have expected you to reach out immediately so I could address them in real time. Additionally, it was clearly stated in the listing that the basement is not accessible to guests. That information was provided upfront prior to booking, and this was not a surprise or a change in the listing. It is also worth noting that it took nearly two weeks after checkout for you to write such a lengthy message regarding the property, despite having had the opportunity to communicate any concerns during your stay. Lastly, the backup heaters are provided as an extra option in case a guest needs additional warmth. They are not there because the home lacks heat, but simply as an added comfort feature. Below was your message after check out. “ We are all out, thank you for the stay“. I wish I can attach a screenshot. Based on this experience, I would not be willing to host you again, and I would not recommend you to other hosts. Regards, Helen
