La propiedad es verdaderamente del ajetreo de la vida cotidiana y disfruta de la paz y la serenidad de vivir en la gloria de la naturaleza. A partir de la secuoya vieja y reutilizada que adorna los alféizares de las ventanas, las carcasas y los marcos de las vidrieras creadas por un artesano y amigo local, Tangerine hecho por un trabajador de la madera local y un maestro en la Escuela de Carpintería Fina en Fort Bragg - Greg Smith. ¡Sin duda sentirás todo el amor y la energía necesarios para revitalizar esta mágica cabaña!

This was an amazing place to stay! Perfect for my family and I we were close to Mendocino Village and a couple different beaches! Being able to sit on the patio and just watch my daughter wander around the “jungle” was amazing to watch along with the fairy lights. We were would definitely rent again!

Nature’s hug

This is the perfect place to stay just outside the town of Mendocino if you’re looking for a serene escape under the redwoods and stars. Several hummingbird & butterfly friends swoop down to say hello as you rest in the hot tub or sip a beverage on the porch. The Echo cottage was a great way to relax after bopping around towns, rivers & beaches.

Memorable thanksgiving with family ❤️

We as a family had such a cozy and comfortable thanksgiving break at the Magical Fairy Cottage. We loved as to how close it was to everything like restaurants, beach, state parks, lighthouse and other tourist attractions. Our toddler loved the cottage and didn’t want to leave. Couldn’t help but fall in love with all the surrounding trees and nature. The magical fairy lights were absolutely whimsical. Also, Janet was such a wonderful host. She was so helpful and promptly answered any and all of our questions right from the time of booking until the end of our stay. We will definitely love to stay at the Magical Fairy Cottage again should we visit Mendocino in the near future.

Tranquil, relaxing and rejuvenating get-away

My friend and I had the most rewarding and relaxing 5 day retreat into the gorgeous Redwoods and garden oasis of this delightful and comfortably roomy cottage just 1 minute drive from the lovely town of Mendocino. Our host Janet enhanced our stay with her warm touches, kind heart and generous thoughts and positive energy! Bed was comfortable, bathroom has a nice floor heater and great shower situation, and the fireplace was a nice addition to relaxing evenings, as well as the hot tub amidst the beautiful garden and redwood trees. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking our meals, and the coffee and tea and wine provided by Janet was greatly appreciated. We will 'hands-down' stay here again on future Mendocino get-aways when we are looking for calm, meditative relaxation and communion with nature and being Present in the day's special moments. :-) Thank you for everything Janet!! ~ Chris

Beautiful environment

Beautiful environment and the cottage is up to date and well appointed. We did not use the hot tub. Very close to Mendocino, which is perfect. Bed extremely comfortable. Recommend it highly to Mendocino visitors.

Charming small cottage very near trails

The place was very nice, clean and wonderful. The host was very polite and accommodating. Also, very close to the house, there are many trails to hike in Jackson Demonstration forest.

Echo Cottage is a Wonderful Getaway.

We traveled to Mendocino with our 2 dogs for a long weekend to escape the Sacramento heat. Echo Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful cottage that is delightfully decorated, comfortable and uses its space efficiently. We felt so at home there. We enjoyed the porch mornings and evenings and we made our simple breakfasts and dinners in the cottage’s kitchen. The bathroom was roomy and the bedroom was quiet and the bed comfy. Our pets were allowed the run of the fenced yard. Janet is a very gracious host. We would certainly visit again.

Lovely home tucked away in the trees

We had a wonderful time; the house was perfect for us and our beagle! The yard is completely fenced, so no worries about our dog getting out. Janet made it very easy for us to check-in, even supplying food and water dishes for our dog. Her home has a lot of character and little extras, great location. Our weekend was complete with beautiful Mendocino sunshine and a comfy place to come back to after our hikes. Would highly recommend this little hideaway! Thank you!

Mendocino cottage

If you are looking for a stylishly appointed cozy, pet friendly house nestled in the redwoods just about 1 mile from downtown Mendocino, look no further. The location is as peaceful as they come. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and completely secured. Although we didn’t use it this time, there is a hot tub. The house has a smallish kitchen, and a bathroom with an absolutely wonderful shower. We recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the Mendocino north coast. It is just 9 miles from Fort Bragg and close to other exciting locations and adventures along the north coast. Besides exploring the many treasures of Mendocino, don’t miss Noyo Harbor and a walk on Big River and Navarro River to name just a few. We will definitely go back to Echo Cottage. Daniela, Jeff, Pepper, and Guido.

Mendocino cottage

We love the Mendocino coast line but unfortunately did not enjoy our stay in the cottage. We had expected more privacy along with the peace & serenity. The cottage is in the backyard of the main house and it is very close quarters. While we appreciate the hosts efforts to give us privacy(they shut their blinds), we did not like having a view of their house, how close it was, felt not very private for the hot tub, etc. -all you could see out the bedroom was the main house. Furthermore, the cottage is right on the road and while it is not super noisy...you definitely can hear traffic. Also we really enjoy cooking when we stay at VBRO and this was super nice but very tiny -- not a great place to cook a more complex meal. You have to move things to use things, not ideal. The cottage had some beautiful details and craftsmanship as well as the landscape was lovely but there were too many negatives -- very tiny, not comfortable furniture, bed/pillows and too little privacy especially considering the upper end cost for a mid week winter time stay. The hot tub was cold on the first night. It did heat up for the second night, however, there was not enough water in it which caused a very noisy jet that was blowing air. Please note that there is a 3 night minimum stay. We informed our host after one night that we would be checking out early and asked for a reimburesement for the final night- it was not granted.

Relax to the Max

We're so happy to have discovered Echo Cottage where we recently enjoyed a relaxing three-night anniversary celebration with our two Boston Terriers. The details provided at the time of booking checked off all of the elements we were seeking for our family getaway, including the security of a fully fenced yard where our two fur boys could adventure their way safely throughout the lovely garden. We were enchanted by the many artful, and at times whimsical, garden areas, including the magical array of softly colored twinkling lights at night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the welcoming spirit of Kwan Yuen, beautifully standing tall in the foreground of the massive trunk of a majestically towering coast redwood tree. The pathway to the cottage was alluring as we passed by the main house and saw the warm lights of Echo Cottage greeting us ahead. We settled in readily, easily finding everything needed for our lovely stay. The kitchenette was thoughtfully stocked with excellent quality goods and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the artwork chosen to enhance the beautifully crafted architectural interior. The only suggestion we might offer would be for a thicker and more comfortable cushion for the beautifully carved sofa bench. We so loved our stay at Echo Cottage so much that we're already planning a repeat visit in a few months!

Magical, cozy cottage in magnificent redwood/coastal setting

From the moment we entered the garden gate, we were enchanted with the fairy lights, natural beautiful, fine craft, artistry and love that this property exudes, as well as the genuine warmth of our wonderful host, Janet. First, the cottage. It's a gem. Well-designed and cozy with nice pops of color and eclectic finishes. No tired rustic cabin or cheesy beach house decor here. The kitchen is tiny, but thoughtfully designed. We planned in advance and were able to pull off Thanksgiving dinner (smoking a spatchcocked turkey on the grill outdoors), and our 24th anniversary dinner (Beef Wellington baked from frozen). We found good coffee in the pantry and everything we needed in the compact kitchen. Our dog enjoyed the garden and we were so glad to have a beautiful fenced area for her. Outside our little sanctuary, she reveled in forest and beach walks in the sparkling fresh air. The bedroom was surprising comfortable for its size and well insulated from the occasional traffic noise we noticed in the main cottage area. The location is ideal -- close to town, but closer to heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed our coastal walks and visit to the dog-friendly Botanical Gardens in Ft. Bragg. We can't wait to return!

Perfect coast cottage

Cute cottage with wonderful garden yard. Base amp for mountain bike rides, beach walks and exploring shops and restaurants nearby. Our dog was welcome and had run of the enclosed yard. Cottage was well equipped for cooking.

Couldn't have been better

My best friend and I reunited for five days in Mendocino and had the good fortune to stay in Echo Cottage. We were completely delighted with every aspect of our stay. The cottage is everything as described, peaceful, private, MAGICAL, lovingly decorated and maintained. The check in and check out process was effortless and Janet, the most gracious of hosts. She responded quickly to all our communications and offered excellent tips and information on restaurants, travel routes, and anything we were just curious about. Wonderfully located as well-close to town yet far away enough away from the local hustle and bustle. We will definitely return.

Close to everything while feeling 'away from it all'.

This peaceful cottage offers tranquility, comfort and a home away from home vibe. The incredible craftsmanship and architecture are very thoughtfully done - every window has beautiful views of the forest and gardens. Comfortable bed, amazing hot tub, a kitchen well supplied with cookware & spices if you're planning to cook (we did) and a refrigerator big enough to hold your groceries or restaurant leftovers. Great, modern bathroom with a wonderful shower. Our dog also had a great time! He'd say: The big yard was fun to explore and anywhere I pooped had a beautiful view. Inside was very cozy, I could hang out with my humans or enjoy some alone time in another room or out on the deck watching nature and pondering the universe. Great spots to sun the tummy and plenty of shade for a different experience. Cool pathways to explore as well! 🐶 Cottage is very close to many fun things to do without being in a touristy neighborhood. It's the best of both worlds over there! Janet is a wonderful host who is available if you need anything or have any questions. She also happens to be a really interesting & awesome person! We've stayed in a number of different places in the area and this one was tops for us! 💜 Thank you, Janet!!
