Villa Loma Sol es una lujosa finca privada de 16 acres ubicada en una colina soleada en las estribaciones de la selva tropical El Yunque. Ofreciendo vistas panorámicas: puede ver el amanecer sobre las montañas y el atardecer en la gloria. Great home, terrific amenities, very clean. Definitely for nature lovers. Access road could use some upkeep, still would love to stay here again.

This house is only drivable but not bad if you are used to hills and curves. It is well worth the drive. The house is great and the management is very accommodating. This is my 8th trip to Hacienda Siesta Alegre and I have stayed at the house twice. I love being in the rain forest and it is a close drive to dinner, beach, Fajardo, kayaking on the Bio Bay, and Old San Juan and Condado.

GORGEOUS stay! Went for my bachelorette with a large group and it was absolutely perfect. More than enough space for everyone, beautiful views, loved hearing the coquis at night, the outdoor bathrooms, the outdoor space was huge. The pictures really don't do it justice.Not for those of high maintenance - this is a paradise for those who love nature and everything that comes with it (ex: you might see a spider or two and hear coqui frogs while you sleep)The villa remains mainly open and is a little hard to get to (you'll need a vehicle), but I promise it's worth it (unless you only like the outdoors in theory)

Beautiful villa - not secure

The villa has no proper locks and keys so at check in property doors where just open. At one point during stay majority of group went out and someone stayed for work call. During that time 3 men showed up at property and didn’t say why they were there. No communication before or after from host on this. Not a safe place for a group and not a good base if you plan to leave as no safes and limited locks

El Junque endemic birds

I easily saw several endemics right around the spectacular pool and then walking along the driveway. Lizard cuckoo directly overhead within inches. Puerto Rico parrot. Puerto Rico screech owl. Puerto Rico Vireo, Emerald and Green Mango. Several others. I recommend it. If you like the rainforest it is spectacular. I’ll be back. Do read all the reviews and know what you’re getting into. There’s lots of wildlife, including arachnid, reptile, Bird, of course, and it’s remote while also nearby to large supermarkets, and excellent restaurants and beautiful beaches. If you want the Ritz, I’d look somewhere else. But if you want a natural rainforest experience with amazing wildlife sightings, I would go.

ULTIMATE RAINFOREST EXPERIENCE

We were in San Juan Puerto Rico for my 50th birthday and stayed for 7 days It was the ultimate outdoor, rainforest living experience. I was impressed with the authentication layout of the home. There was plenty of space to house 12 people comfortably. The entire house was cleaned and we slept peacefully in our rooms on our beds. The pictures do no justice. There must have been some upgrades. The deck around the pool has nice scenery (great for photos). We enjoyed every bit of the outside. I suggest getting an SUV to get around, you go up many hills. The location is accurate; driving back and forth to San Juan and other areas north, west, and east was 35-40 min max. Your local stores are close 10-20 mins away by car. We had a blast living here. Once you get used to the nature. Lizards, frogs, huge bugs, etc. you learn to get out of their way. You have plenty of ways to cook outdoors, allowing you the picnic experience. The only downside I have is the communication with the host. I tried contacting him several times. The front desk contracted me 3 days later. This home is the perfect vacation away from home. I would love to rent this property again.

I would read this before renting- buy extra gallons of water just in case water goes out!

The hacienda is even more beautiful in person. You are literally in the tree tops and views are gorgeous. The inside of the house was very clean, the beds not so comfortable, I tried 2 beds. The bedroom outside was scary and no one wanted to sleep in it( looks like a shack) that was unfortunate because it looks nothing like the peaceful exotic pictures it portrays . The pool is a nice area (needs better upkeep overall) we arrived on Friday and the pool didn’t get cleaned until Monday, we left Wednesday morning so didnt enjoy much of the pool. There is a hill that you must drive up… we were told a regular car would do…. I’m glad we got an SUV instead Location is accurate and driving back and forth to San Juan and other areas north west and east was 35-40 min max. My main disappointment was the communication with the host Greg Jackson. On our last day/afternoon time we were left with no water at all even until the next day before we packed up and left. When speaking to Greg about the matter he suggested we take a shower in the pool. The water never came back on and we had no other choice and take a bath in the pool before our flight back. * lastly we only encountered little lizards, caterpillars and a 7ft brown garden snake in the tub area outside. We made the best of it, but definitely not a relaxing trip.

Don’t wast your time or money

The only thing accurate about this listing is that it’s a villa located in the rain forest. Our family was not a fan of all the spiders (some as big as your fist), frogs, lizards and cockroaches in the house. There is a lot of exposed electrical wiring throughout the entire house which is not safe for anyone. After the second night, no one in our group wanted to sleep in the outside bedroom because of all the bugs and animals and how unhealthy it was. We used the washer and dryer one day and our clothes came out smelling so bad we had to put the clothes in a plastic bag to bring them home. The fridge worked off and on. We bought ice cream one day and the next day it was completely melted, and then the day after that it was frozen. The kitchen in my opinion was the worst room in the house. We ended up buying a pan to cook with and a mixing bowl because the few cooking pans they had were so old and gross we decided not to use them for health reasons. The bbq did work for the most part but we had to provide our own method to light it. I wasn’t a fan of the amount of money we spent and at best this was a 1-2 star motel.

It is nice and spacious for a large family in the middle of the rainforest. Our experience was right after the storm which damaged the pool. We were a whole day waiting for repair after calls from our part. I would’ve prefered a more proactive and diligent approach from their part given the stay was already prepaid for. After the pool was fixed next day we had a very fun family day as we were aiming for during our stay.

Great family villa

This villa is uniquely charming. The 2 common rooms and the veranda are huge. We had rain some days and could still have the house wide open for heavenly breezes. The two young boys had plenty of space to move around. The pool area is really inviting with views to the ocean. The three outdoor bathrooms add romance as long as it is not raining. The lightning is romantically dark so bring reading lamps is you are not a kindle user.

Amazing location

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Loma Sol . It’s long bumpy driveway to the property but well awarded with views of surrounding foothills of rain forest and the ocean . It’s real Puerto Rican Hacienda , perhaps shows little time here and there but overall climate is fantastic . Real pleasure to deal with Greg and property management . All concerns addressed momentarily , all questions during pre and post booking process answered really within minutes .

Relaxing and Beautiful Property

Fantastic! (But no hot tub)

Everything is amazing and I highly recommend it! The property is beautiful, the views are amazing, the rooms are really nice, and the manager is very responsive to messages and problems (they replaced a leaking toilet asap when I reported it). The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn't have a hot tub, but there's one clearly pictured in the property profile (as of when I booked, and still as of this writing), which is definitely misleading.
