Ubicado en el South River Valley, en las estribaciones de las montañas Blue Ridge, South River Cottage, una casa completamente privada, se encuentra entre Charlottesville y Harrisonburg, VA. La cabaña ha sido recientemente renovada, reformada y ampliada para acomodar incluso a los huéspedes más exigentes.
El porche recientemente agregado cuenta con un sofá convertible con una cama queen size plegable y vistas increíbles a las montañas desde todas las ventanas.
El ala este de la cabaña cuenta con el dormitorio principal con cama king y armario grande, el dormitorio de invitados con cama queen y armario grande y un tercer dormitorio con literas.
La cocina ampliada cuenta con una barra de desayuno, mostradores de isla y granito, estufa de gas, microondas, tostadora, Keurig, lavaplatos y refrigerador de puerta francesa sobre el cajón del congelador y una unidad de lavadora y secadora apiladas en el armario de la cocina. La cocina se abre a la sala familiar donde hay un gran sofá seccional; TV de pantalla plana de 42 "con servicios de transmisión disponibles.
El comedor semi-formal tiene capacidad para seis; con vistas a las montañas y está conectado a la Gran Sala donde hay un sofá convertible: cama doble desplegable, un espacio de trabajo apto para computadora portátil con espacio para una computadora, cómodas sillas para relajarse y un Dish TV de pantalla plana de 42 "con transmisión en línea servicios disponibles.
El tiempo lo permite; un área de patio exterior, con muebles acolchados, se encuentra en el lado oeste de la cabaña y ofrece increíbles vistas de las puestas de sol de la tarde.
La cabaña también cuenta con:

We loved our stay in this beautiful location. Lots of space with incredible views including deer! Loved the coffee bar, extra amenities and the fresh eggs! Everything was super clean. Wonderful location between UVA and Shenandoah National Park. Would definitely stay again.

Good cabin stay

Not a lot of communication leading up to the stay, but the place was nice and we enjoyed our time! Got some fantastic steaks from the farm as well!

Peaceful weekend

The property is exactly as advertised. We found it to be clean, quiet and well stocked. We enjoyed visiting some wineries during the day and a quiet evening at the cottage at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Farm on the South River

great getaway

This cottage has beautiful views in every direction! The house had everything we needed and more. Most delightful is the sunroom.......we spent PLENTY of time there. It is a quiet, peaceful destination. Great hiking nearby and so much history. Enjoyed everything, highly recommend.

Perfect farm cottage

Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Hosts were accommodating by providing basic spices, coffee and eggs in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and lots of space in the house to spread out. Loved seeing the cows in the pastures. Had a wonderful stay at this property,

Girls Weekend

We had a delightful time in this cozy and comfortable cottage home. It was very room, with all the different living areas to enjoy. The mountain views surrounding the property are amazing. The small town of Standardsville was delightful. Everyone was so kind. Our meal at the Lafayette Inn was wonderful. We are already talking about our next stay.

Amazing Home and Views

This home was exactly as described and more. The owners take excellent care and provides excellent service. It's conveniently located, yet secluded with mountainess views. They provided fresh eggs, and yes they were awesome. We will stay again. Thanks for a great experience.

Wedding Weekend in South River Cottage

The cottage is sprawling with 3 spacious sitting areas, two with great views of the mountains and the ponds on the property. We were a party of 5 adults and it was more than enough room for us. The hosts supplied paper goods, sheets, towels and coffee fixings. It is 10 minutes away from the Barn at Edgewood where we attended a beautiful wedding. There are antique stores and wineries nearby. The hosts checked in with us during our stay. We highly recommend renting this cottage!

Beautiful cottage with stunning views.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would definitely do it. The cottage is all you can dream of. Better in real than on the photos. I wish we would have stayed much longer (4 nights) as it was such a beautiful and relaxing cottage. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the sun room. The location is great, just a short 15-20 min drive to Shenandoah National Park. The cottage has everything you need and more. And finally, the host Judy has been so accommodating. A big thank you to such a great host. Definitely the place to stay when visiting this part of VA.

Wide open space

The location beautiful, quiet and serene. The house is much larger and roomier than it looks from outside. Everything was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We will definitely want to come back. The only tip I will give is to not come up the service road entrance to the house because it is rough if you are not driving a truck. Go to the next driveway and go up that driveway instead. It is part of the owners property and a much better driveway.

Gorgeous and comfortable! We would love to rent again!

The house is very clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We were all very impressed when we walked in! It is located on the owner's farm with breathtaking views from every window. The owner was easy to communicate with, and even left us some welcome gifts in the fridge (including eggs fresh from the farm!). The house had everything that we needed, including spices for cooking, everything to make a good cup of coffee, and even travel size shampoo, conditioner, and soaps in the bathrooms. And the towels in the bathroom were SO soft! We had a great weekend and would happily rent again!

Lovely Home & Location

The home is beautiful and much bigger on the inside than the pictures showed. 3 of us stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and basically used half the house because it's so spacious. The views are very pretty. We were on motorcycles for the weekend and came up the first, unpaved service entrance as that is where the GPS told us to turn. If you are on motorcycles, DO NOT go up this entrance! Go to the entrance with the long driveway that has a fence on both sides as it is fully paved all the way up to the house and is maybe 100 yards away from the other. You can't miss it. I believe the owners live somewhere on the property but there are a few houses up in there so I'm not sure where, but they give you complete privacy so don't let that deter you from staying. Really the only downside to this location was being on motorcycles and coming back after a long day of riding and having no restaurants around who deliver LOL There are restaurants and fast food maybe 15 minutes from the house though but this is definitely a place where you want to stock up and cook there if you're not eating out. The kitchen is big and beautiful and there is a grill/smoker outside. The bed in the master wasn't the most comfortable but it wasn't bad. Water pressure in the shower was great! I would definitely stay here again! Oh and if you're on motorcycles wanting to ride the Skyline Drive, this house is centrally located and only about 15-20 minutes from the middle entrance.

A slice of heaven

While it is true, as other reviews have suggested, that this fabulous place is a tad off the beaten trail, it is soooooo worth it. The drive through the country to get there was restorative all on its own! Privacy with a view out of every window. Every amenity one could need has been provided. The quiet of the country is soothing, but adventures of every sort are not that far away. In fact, there is a world class pizza place a mere 7 minutes away:) Directions are clear; expectations are detailed in a helpful fashion. We truly want to come again....
