The location was amazing however some things were broken/torn such as upholstery on the furniture and there was a dangerous outlet on the lanai that was burnt out. During the last part of our stay there was a plumbing issue leading to a huge leak resulting in plumbers having to come and fix it and we spent two nights with a very loud construction fan going all day and night to dry the leak and water damage. Two of the three toilets were not working during this time. The vacassa contact was quick to respond when we had a question. It was just a lot to go wrong with expensive lodging. We’ve been coming here for close to ten years and always stay at rentals and have not yet experienced anything like this.

Just perfect

Due to late booking, we used three locations for our vacation which actually worked perfectly as we focused our outings by area. This location in North Shore was by far our favorite. The highlights were right across from the most amazing sunset, while the other side of the house had complete opening into the views of the mountains, which came with rainbows and numerous birds. Absolutely perfectly clean, everything worked very well, we even got to use the grill on one of the nights on the balcony, which was very convenient and homey. Also best of all, we were able to walk to the best snorkeling beach on Kauai in our opinion which was Hideaways beach. Also a lovely walk to the 1 Hanalei hotel and its restaurant as well as lovely views into the Hanalei Bay. Look forward to going back. PS the washer/dryer were perfect for the Red dirt there :)

Great location, great views

We enjoyed staying at the property. The location and views are what makes this place so nice. Easy access to North shore attractions and food as well as great views of the mountains and a view of the water from the kitchen table. Perhaps a bit of paint touch up needed in a few spots, but overall a great place to stay.

Great Stay - Beautiful Ocean and Mountains

The best part about this property by far is the beautiful view of both the ocean and mountains. The property is cozy, comfortable and clean. Parking was easy, and right across the street is a great ocean lookout spot.

Nice view

Comfortable beds, nice view and location. Kitchen is minimally stocked with items needed to cook. Unit has only one good beach chair. The wall decor and mirrors looks tired and needs updated. Night stands look bad and need replaced.

Darling Villa, Stunning Views, Lovely private bedrooms downstairs

Friend and I stayed 3 nights here after staying in a little old house in Hanalei bay for 3 nights. We absolutely loved this villa for it's breathtaking views, balconies, gorgeous bedrooms, jungle noises, and location across from the ocean bluff with wonderful sunsets. It was roomy, especially for the two of us, clean, and nicely appointed. True, no a/c which would have been great, but for us the fans were fine. You have to make your way though a golf course and other lodgings, but this one feels very private and safe. I would book this place again and stay longer. Thank you managers and owners, please send me a discount code and I'm coming back next year for at least a week!!! 100 percent recommend.

Lovely area

The home where we stayed was across the street from a wonderful spot to watch the sunset. We had a lovely chorus of birds that sang to us every morning in the grove between the house and the golf course.

Wonderful stay in Princeville

This property is ideally located for north island visits to Hanalei and the Napali coast. Although we had a good deal of rain during our April stay, we trekked to the south side of Kauia for sun, beach time, and a Waimea Canyon visit. This cottage was ideal for our party of four with space for privacy, cooking our own meals, and enjoying time on the lanai.

Paradise in Princevile

Loved our stay at HBV. The location was perfect - gorgeous mountain and waterfall views off the primary bedroom and living room balconies (with tropical bird visitors every morning), ocean views from the breakfast nook, and across the street from a lookout to Makana. Hideaways Beach and the 1 Hotel Hanalei beach were close too. We were appreciative of the liquid hand soaps in every bathroom, generous samples of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel too. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was key - extra bonus for the detergent pods in the unit for us to use. We also made use of the beach chair with backpack straps and took it to the beach with us several times. Unit was clean but could use a deeper cleaning (floor while swept needs a good scrub as do the stair rails, curtains need a freshen up). We know to expect bugs in Hawaii, so we kept the kitchen clean and everything in the fridge, but ants were frequently in and around the sink whenever we returned. Just something for future tenants to be aware of. We found the unit perfect for our needs and couldn’t get over the location - we’ve been to Princeville/Hanalei many times before and think this is our favorite property yet! Mahalo!

A lovely, well-maintained and located condo on the North Shore

Just concluded a six night stay in this condo. White glove clean. Bravo. For those that know the North Shore this condo is perfectly located in Princeville just east of Hanalei. Easy access to beaches and trails with gorgeous morning and evening ocean and rainbow panoramas a few short steps across the road. Lovely lush views from both decks. Tropical birds and early rising roosters abound (I miss the natural alarm clocks). Hanalei beach is 10 minutes away and we spent most late afternoons in the water there. If you're headed to Key Beach and then Nepali trails you'll need reservations. Those are available 30 days in advance and go quickly whether using the shuttle and particularly if you want to drive your own car. Just a heads up. Thank you to the hosts.

Great location with awesome views

This is a great place to stay up in Princeville with absolutely great views from all sides. The unit is very comfortable and stays nice and cool if the breezes are blowing :-). It’s located right across one of the most popular Sunset and ocean viewing spots in Princeville and walking distance to the new 1 Hotel Hanalei. Also, walking distance to beaches and the Queen’s Bath. The unit is a bit dated, but very functional and comfortable. Some of the beach equipment needs upgrading as there’s really only one usable beach chair, and no umbrella. We ended up renting an umbrella down in Honolulu for $2.50 a day from Hanalei Surf

Kauai stay

We had a lovely time exploring the north side of the island. The house was in a perfect location to get everywhere we wanted to go. It was a beautiful time here and the house was clean and the kitchen had all the stuff needed to cook at home. Mahalo!

Stunning Location but Room for Improvement

We recently stayed at this property and were captivated by its location, arguably one of the best on the island. The deck offers incredible views, and the beach is within walking distance, making it a dream destination for nature lovers. However, our experience was marred by a few issues that need attention: Mosquitoes in the Master Bedroom: Despite all windows and the sliding door having bug screens, we faced a nightly battle with mosquitoes that disrupted our sleep. The issue seems to stem from the screen door lacking a side bug seal, allowing mosquitoes to enter when the patio door is open. Microwave Condition: The kitchen is generally well-stocked, but the microwave is in dire need of replacement. It's outdated and barely functional, a concern that has been raised by previous guests as well. This seems like a simple and inexpensive fix that would significantly improve the guest experience. Misleading Listing Regarding Washer: The listing indicates that a clothes washer is available, but we were informed post-booking that it was not. This was particularly disappointing as the availability of a washer was one of the reasons we chose this property. While the location and views are undeniably stunning, these issues did impact the overall quality of our stay. We hope the management takes note and addresses these concerns for future guests. Having said all that, I would consider going back.

Outdated & rusted appliances

The property has not been updated since it was built or so it looks like it hasn’t. EVERYTHING besides the dishwasher is super old. The appliances are rusted (pics). Unable to use the microwave because it didn’t get hot, major rust inside of it. In addition when I opened the microwave door the turntable spins on its own. I reported it but nothing was done and there was no compensation considering we were unable to heat up our leftovers for 6 days. In addition the walls need to be repainted, the handrails are dirty (pics). The curtains are dirty (pics). In addition there is a note stating that the washer will be fixed soon but in the meantime do small loads. The washer was so loud that you could hear in on the lanai. There was a previous review about the washer not working at all. Apparently a minor fix was done. It needs to be replaced!!!!! Our clothes came out dingy and some with spots! The OLD original floor linoleum had pieces missing (pics). The dining chairs paint was peeling off. The pictures advertising the property will draw you to choose it- beware! Good thing we were gone early morning to late night otherwise it would have been depressing staying there. I’m sure that I am forgetting something. There are so many things wrong with this property!!!! The housekeepers can only do so much. Same on Vacasa and the owner for not updating or having a working microwave. On the plus side the forest behind the property was gorgeous and so were the birds!

Princeville & Rainbows!

Great Princeville location! Back porches overlook the Bay & out the front door across the road is the Lookout to Sunsets!! & Sunrises!! Walk to multiple beaches, bike path to town. Rainshowers this trip made rainbows, more rainbows!!

Fantastic location

This property is truly a gem, where it’s patio has lush green Mountains as backdrop and Front window offers ocean view. Property was clean and well taken care of. Also rental company had good initial communication for check-in process Only reason I would give 4.5 stars because Kitchen and Bathrooms are dated and it can take upgrades. There was dead lizard and it was smelled bad at bottom patio. Rental company acknowledged my complaint but never sent anyone to take care. I would visit this place over and over again.

Would stay again! Clean, great views, home-y

We had a wonderful stay. The place had everything we could have needed for a 5 day stay. It had incredible views. AMAZING location - close to a useful town center, beaches, and other shops. My only complaint is that the washing machine didn’t work, and we didn’t find out until the day before we left, which is when we planned to do the laundry before heading to our next stay. The on-staff maintenance team was great and came right away; however, we really needed a new washer and a different resolution to help with laundry which we never got. I’m waiting to hear how we will be compensated.
