Nuestra cabaña de cuatro dormitorios está ubicada en Waynesboro, VA, al pie de las montañas Blue Ridge. El Skyline Drive y el Blue Ridge Parkway se encuentran aquí, ¡así que también es un lugar perfecto para que su familia se encuentre!

Estamos adyacentes al Bosque Nacional George Washington y Jefferson y al Área Recreativa del Lago Sherando, y a solo catorce millas de las pistas de esquí, golf y tenis en Wintergreen Resort. Sin embargo, aún es muy fácil llegar a nosotros, escondidos en la encrucijada de las carreteras interestatales 81 y 64, a solo cinco millas de la salida 96 en la carretera interestatal 64. Estamos a solo 27 millas de la Universidad de Virginia y Monticello en Charlottesville, VA, y a solo 150 millas de Washington, DC.

Oak Tree Cottage se encuentra en el borde del bosque, con vistas a los campos abiertos de nuestra granja de 1,000 acres y las montañas Blue Ridge. El primer piso de la casa tiene una sala de estar, una cocina completa con isla, una gran mesa de comedor con capacidad para nueve personas, una sala con paredes de vidrio que ofrece una vista completa del bosque, así como dos dormitorios y un baño completo. En el segundo piso, hay dos dormitorios más y otro baño completo. La casa tiene calefacción por agua caliente en el zócalo. También tenemos una piscina privada disponible para el uso de nuestros huéspedes. No hay salvavidas de guardia.

Nuevo para 2020: aire acondicionado y una estación de carga para vehículos eléctricos.

This location is ideal for hiking the trails accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. The home is on 1,000 acres and feels very private since the owner's home is the only other house on the property. We were pleased with both the cleanliness of the home and the comfort of the bed. The owners, Karen and Dave, were very hospitable hosts who made sure that we had everything that we needed for a pleasant stay. We did hike a bit on the property and saw a lot of deer while walking. I don't think you will regret choosing this home.

Our second stay here was even better than the first! Wonderful hosts, great location. Everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation. A highlight was our hike at nearby St. Mary's Wilderness. No steep slopes, beautiful mountain stream and waterfall. Go early in the day (parking is a bit limited).

Beautiful and cozy

Dave and Karen are great hosts. There are so many thoughtful details at this property! We had 3 generations of family and we enjoyed the scenery, pool, birds, and very comfy beds!

We loved our stay at the Quillens’ cottage. What all the reviews say about the house is true, but the real gems of the house are the owners, Dave and Karen. I will say more on the latter, but first about the house: it comfortably housed our family of 6, was clean, pretty safe for an active 3 year old, with ample supply of cookware and linens for cooking and living. (I am a picky laundress, and I loved the Speed Queen washer!) A heat wave passed through VA while we were there, and the pool was perfect for cooling off on the hot days. The location is good if you like to hike in the mountains (Humpback Rocks is fun), or are interested in history (only a 30 minute drive to Monticello). We loved the cottage’s idyllic setting—we enjoyed seeing deer on our morning walks, watching young rabbits frolic and dance, and watching fireflies in the evenings. The beds were also very comfortable!Dave and Karen made us feel welcome from the beginning, but their character really shone through when we were in a pickle. On the morning of our departure, AFTER we had checked out, our van broke down in downtown Waynesboro (we had an 11 hour drive ahead of us). We only asked for an autoshop recommendation, but Dave and Karen went above and beyond in what they did to help us. Generously, sacrificially, they helped us get back on the road the next day. We were overwhelmed by their kindness—a gift for our entire family to experience. Thank you, Dave and Karen truly for everything!

Spring Retreat

Oak Tree Cottage provided a beautiful place for our group of older friends to enjoy time together. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group. We loved being outside on the deck or by the pool and also enjoyed the dining/gathering space across the back of the house overlooking the woods. The hosts were super nice and helpful. A wonderful stay!

Wonderful experience

The cottage was clean, cozy, comfortable and well stocked. The linens were comfortable. Location was convenient to family , stores and Charlottesville.Dave and Karen could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. Any issue was addressed timely.I look forward to returning to this cottage!

Rrady for a Wedding

We stayed here in preparation for my daughter's wedding in Crozet, VA. The home was lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A gorgeous cottage nestled in the trees

I reserved this location for a small bachelor party weekend. We stayed from Friday to Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is close to 151, allowing us to swing by Devil's Backbone for their Oktoberfest. It is also close to many great trails like Humpback Rocks, which we hit in the morning after Devil's Backbone. The owners are amiable and welcoming. They greeted us when we settled in and set up the firepit for a lovely roaring fire our last night there. The views are beautiful, and the peace and quiet are unmatched. I highly recommend this location for a delightful getaway without being too far from fantastic sights and places.

Peaceful house with mountain views

This was the perfect place for a family group of 8, enjoying the quiet of the countryside and views of the mountains. There was plenty of seating and a big dining table. We would come back in the future.

The Best of the Best

An amazing, gorgeous property! The house was exactly as described but the view was even better in person. It was stocked with everything we needed, clean/ready to go, and check in/out instructions were easy to follow. Bonus that the owner was such a delight to talk to! My friends and I had a great time and we highly recommend!

Perfect Stay

Everything was PERFECT. The property and views were even better than expected. The house and pool were impeccable. The house was stocked with all essentials, including plenty of pool/shower towels for the 7 of us. I can’t thank Karen and her husband enough for their hospitality and kindness. Another lovely week!

Beautiful Shenandoah property

The property is set perfectly in a mix of forest, farmland and rejuvenated quail habitat. Multiple Long range views, one that looks towards a perfect Virginia foothill or mountain depending on your personal point of view. The pool is a good size and around 8 foot at it’s deepest. The house came with everything you could need in supplies and was very comfortable. We met both owners and they were very friendly and had great communication. Overall a perfect getaway retreat if you are visiting the Shenandoah region of Virginia and need a home base for your adventure.

Excellent stay

The house had everything you would want or need in a VRBO The pool was right outside the front door, loved sitting on the deck with all the shade from the oak trees, great farm to hike, loved the special local treats the owners left. Great sunroom with a big family gathering table. Definitely will be back!

Oak Tree Cottage

A perfect three generation weekend! The house and property was exactly as described which I've found to be unusual. Having the fenced in pool was perfect for our three young children. The hosts were wonderful - both before our stay answering questions and responding quickly to any questions we had during our stay. I highly recommend Oak Tree Cottage!

Time to stand and stare

We had a marvellous 3 generational family vacation at oak tree cottage,the hosts were wonderful.the cottage nestled in a copse of glorious old oak trees,peace,quietand serenity,surrounde by nature,a time to unwind and unplug.you felt like you were in a treehouse,eating breakfast on deck or dinner in the screened sunroom.,watching the nuthatches scale the mighty oak,the cheeky squirrels perform acrobatics trying to get to the birdfeeder.the cottage had everything you could need and more.An amazing pool and sundeck,family games,puzzles and board games.Dont worry you wifi wizards it was good enough you could work from cottage remotely,but why would you.Nearby a plethora of things to do ,10 mins away Sherando lake great sandy beach ,swming area,walks,fishing,kayaking and picnic tables.grand hiking,kids museums,caverns and a very well run safari park all within an hour.very close to skyline drive,blue ridge parkway,staunton and charlottesville with bigger lake.All in all everything you could need for a n unforgettable vacation.Cannot wait to go back

Beautiful stay with a big group!

We traveled here with 6 adults and 3 children and had a wonderful time! The cottage is in a beautiful location and close enough to get to stores and restaurants. It’s incredibly clean, well-appointed and perfect for big groups. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed exploring outside and playing games with the kids. There are also lots of hiking options nearby. We were there for a wedding but we would definitely come back!

Quiet, secluded, peaceful property

My wife and I came with a couple of our adult sons and two close family friends. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The pool and the cottage are immaculately clean. The owners live right on the other side of the pool and are SO nice. They even brought over some fresh tomatoes from their garden! And the yummy snacks that greeted us in the kitchen when we arrived were such a nice touch. Highly recommend!

Oak Tree Cottage is Great

We enjoyed our stay at the Oak Tree Cottage. The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The pool is great and we loved spending time in the sunroom. We had such a relaxing time, we hope to return. Karen and Dave are excellent hosts. We highly recommend Oak Tree Cottage.

My husband and I have three grown children. We love food and we love the outdoors. Dave has been working to restore the native meadows on the farm. The farm also has globally rare wetlands with rare salamanders and plants. It's a great place to walk and enjoy nature.

I love history and I am an interpreter of history at Monticello, which is only 33 miles away. I also love to knit and to sew.

Location, location, location! It is stunningly beautiful. So easy to get to, yet still so private.

We love sitting on our front porch, looking at the mountains and watching the wildlife on the farm. We worked with an architect to design and build our home so it fits the farm. The guest cottage is located about 250 feet from our home. We respect the privacy of our guests but we hope they will call us if they need anything or have any questions. We're right next door!
