Paradise!

The Sun and Sea beach house is amazing! Everything about our stay in Hopkins was perfect. Mirko was a fabulous host, checking in to see if we needed anything or ask how we were enjoying our stay. I highly recommend that you also book your excursions through Mirko, they were incredible and all we had to do was show up. Overall a wonderful relaxing vacation in a gloriously beautiful setting. Thank you Mirko!

NICE STAY WOULD RETURN.

PROPERTY WAS BETTER THAN THE PICTURES. THE LARGE WELL FURNISHED SCREEN PORCH WAS VERY NICE. WE HAD WONDERFUL VIEW OF MOON OVER THE WATER FOR SEVERAL NIGHTS.

Excellent beach house

I stayed at this property by myself in May of 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Hopkins. The area is great for a solo traveller and I felt safe and welcome during my stay. My week started with a two hour power blackout which is apparently quite common in Belize, but Mirko quickly dropped off a battery powered lantern which was very helpful. The rest of my stay was very good as the property had everything I needed including a fully stocked kitchen, filtered water supply, an icemaker on the fridge and excellent air condition throughout the house which was much needed as it was very hot during the week I was there. Mirko arranged an excellent snorkeling trip for me on one of the days and I sampled many great restaurants within 10 minutes from the property. I would recommend this house to any traveler and would happily come back and stay again.

An amazing piece of paradise

Whats not to like? The sand beach is right out the door and the beach goes out what seems like forever. A great home base to explore out of. Hiking at Mayflower Bocawina National Park to the waterfalls is not to be missed. Had a manatee surface kayaking the mangroves just to the north. A well appointed kitchen and great resturants nearby (dont miss Ella's and Maxim and Luba Laruga). A most responsive host for sure! All in all a wonderful stay!

Has so much to offer

The house has an extensive kitchen. I could not think of one utensil or cooking item that was not provided. There’s a new fridge. It has ice! Air conditioning works throughout the house. The place we stayed after this only had it in the bedrooms and boy, did we notice what a difference that made. We stayed in both houses in November (towards the end of the month) and it was still warm enough that having AC was beneficial. The screened in porch was our favorite spot to hang out. There are two hammocks and some chairs there as well as a table. The clothesline was super helpful with all our suits and towels. The porch is L-shaped and having that outdoor space became even handier, because as nice as the beachfront was downstairs, there were sand fleas biting if we sat in the chairs close to the water. It was too uncomfortable to sit on the beach. That is not the fault of the house! There were also pretty bad sand fleas in San Pedro when we were up there diving.So if anything, choosing this house because there’s a screened in porch is all the more advantageous. The washer and dryer works great. The bathrooms are a little small, but I didn’t go on vacation to spend time in a bathroom. Everything was clean and modern. Beds are comfortable each room had a big closet. There is plenty of seating throughout the house. Just know that the house is on a section of unpaved road. I can’t remember how long it was between Hopkins & the house, certainly less than half a mile. Great stay!

Very Relaxing Family Vacation with our own Private Beach

This is exactly what our family of 4 (2 adults, 18 and 16 year olds) were needing. We stayed 6 nights and it was perfect (though my wife says another 2 nights would have been better). We used the beachhouse as our hub for day trips. You can make a day trip to Caracol (Mayan ruins) if you leave early enough (we left at 5am) and visit the Rio On Pools, Big Rock Waterfalls and then do a cacao tour at Lamanai Chocolate Company on the way back. It will be a long day, but we looked forward to our private beach on way back (and frozen pizza). A good stopping point for street vendor food would be Uno Gas Station near the Western/Hummingbird Hwy intersection. We shopped at the Fe We Mart in Hopkins for house food, but if you are looking for more variety and "Walmart" stuff, you can drive 1 hour to Dangriga and stop at Family City Import There were only three slight dings to our accomadations. 1) The closet safe had its battery die on us while we were there. Thank goodness it was midtrip and not at the end of our trip since we kept our passports locked. Mirko took care of it by providing the override key. 2) It was advertised that a fresh fruit basket and some drinks would be provided upon arrival. Neither were there. 3) Driving instructions from airport called using Hummingbird Hwy. Wish we listened instead to our AVIS agent who had suggested using the Coastal Hwy which shortens the trip by an hour. We took Costal on way back w/o issue. Even with these hiccups, still rate 5 stars

Spring break

We loved our time at this house. The house was well stocked with everything you need. Property manager promptly took care of the AC, helped with organising excursions and recommending places to eat. The beach was raked every other day. It was wonderful to wake up and sit on the beach to watch the sunrise. We would certainly stay here again

Great spot just outside of Hopkins

The place is great! Lots of towels and everything you need for a great stay. The covered porch with hammocks is a sweet spot. My advice is for the manager to update the property photo. We arrived after dark and since the paint color doesn’t match the photo we were a bit lost finding it. No answer from the phone number listed but we figured it out eventually. Also check that water is available. There was none when we arrived and we just made it to the store in time. I suspect it was a one time oversight though as everything else was well stocked. The house is close to the Marina which has a very view nice bar and restaurant. We would stay again.

We loved it

The location is awesome, a little distance ( down a bumpy road) from the town Hopkins, with a few restaurants and bars within a short drive. The property literally abuts a swimmable beach just steps from your deck. The property included all kitchen, bath amenities ( except soap and shampoo). We had access to bicycles in the garage, and the neighbor offered us use of their kayaks. It was clean and we felt at home. We loved Hopkins and the very chill vibe. I had to search for a place that sold tee shirts! We traveled to San Ignacio area as well as San Pedro on this trip. All were good, but Hopkins is our favorite by far. We would recommend Hopkins and this property to all of our friends

We fell in love with Hopkins

We loved our stay and the village. Only regrets, trip should hehe been two weeks not one and we wished we would have stayed more in the village. Property manager has plenty of locations to choose from, assisted with connecting travel details, and was excellent.

The perfect beach getaway.

I had to reschedule my original booking due to the pandemic, and so was glad to finally make it. Mirko, was not only amenable to my reservation change but his communication was excellent. He was a great host and the house had absolutely everything we needed, and more. The location was perfect. Located on the beach, close to Hopkins but very quiet. It was wonderful to lie in the hammocks listening to the birds and the sound of the sea - the perfect beach getaway.

Beautiful beach house

The house was well stocked with essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms including laundry soap and coffee. The screened in porch made it more functional the other houses in the area. The beach was beautiful and kid friendly. You could walk in waist deep water forever. No fear of scary waves or aggressive currents. My son a very small 6 year old was completely safe in the water. We had so much fun floating in uour loungers. If we return we will be staying here again. The host was very accommodating and helped up have a smooth trip.

Beach Beauty

A very clean, well maintained oceanfront property with the added nice touch of raked sand and fresh water in a tub for cleaning your feet before you enter. In addition to the sand being raked, the maintenance personnel pulled up the sargassum seaweed which, while not a major issue, was present. What was especially pleasant was the screened in wraparound porch which did a phenomenal job of keeping out the bugs so you could enjoy a meal or coffee while taking in the gently rolling ocean waves. Because of the porch, I thought the main living space didn't get as much natural light as it otherwise would. But if you can get past this minor setback, you're stay should be easily enjoyed. I especially enjoyed the nighttime, peaceful ease and sounds coming from the dense, natural vegetation on the backside of the property. The dirt road is soft enough to walk barefoot for a very calming moonlit stroll.
