Everything in the listing was completely accurate. Wonderful places to walk to near by. And we even had an incredible bioluminescent tour that was so easy to book with his uncle. Top notch personal experience. Also, check in and out couldn't have been easier.

Beachfront Dream

This was the best spot!!! You are right in the middle of Hopkins. Everything is within walking distance. The beach is literally right on your doorstep. A great brunch spot is moments away. There's a grocery store kitty corner to you. And excellent restuarants are a short walk away. Plenty of breeze- especially when you open the blinds. A kitchen that will meet all of your needs. A shower that has pressure. And the balcony...oh boy. You will spend hours enjoying the sound of the ocean, the wind, and the view. The beds are VERY firm- I will admit I had a hard time sleeping since I'm used to a softer bed- but everything else made up for that. Plus, our host was super attentive. He took care of everything and responded to any inquiry very quickly. When I return to Hopkins, and I will because it is the friendliest, yummiest spot in Belize, I will only stay here. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay.

Great family cabin

Loved the deck with the hammocks. It was really clean and secure. Lots of space with the two bedrooms. Really enjoyed this place!

Wonderful stay in Hopkins

We had an amazing time thank you Mirko for all your help we had everything we needed and very clean beautiful beach front accommodations, everything you would need. The people of Hopkins Belize are so friendly, great restaurants with very friendly owners.The neighbours on one side some evenings can be loud, but not late hours they are only trying to make a business and never interfered with our plansWe would not hesitate to go back.Thank you, Mirko for everything

Location and a great beach cabana

Two couples stayed 6 nights. On days we had to get out early we were able to make breakfast at home. Many evenings we ended on the large patio with the ocean breeze. You can literally watch the sunrise from bed. VERY secure which my husband appreciated. Next door to a local bar, but late night karaoke on Sunday and a birthday party later in the week is the only time it was noticeable.

Solid place, right price and right location!

This place was just what we wanted. It was a great location, the host was quite helpful, the security was solid, and the price was right. There were a few extra amenities that helped (a cooler, an ice maker). Note that it is small for 4 people, but we knew this going on so was not a surprise. Our only suggestion is to replace the light bulbs with much stronger wattage as it is quite dim in the place once it gets dark outside.

Central Location but noisy.

Central location but very noisy. Next door neighbors dog barked incessantly at night and in the morning, lots of traffic noise and the last night of our two week stay there was an outdoor DJ party next door that went until 3 AM.

Great Retreat

This was just as described and what my wife and I were looking for. Hopkins is very laid back, casual, and friendly. When we come back we will stay at the Blue Moon Cabana again.

Very nice accommodation in the center of Hopkins.

Blue Moon Cabana is as described in its online advertising. Very well kept with no mechanical issues. Also well provisioned with kitchen equipment and other necessities. It is not resort-like. You are in the center of the town, You will have lots of contact with the local residents. We found them to be very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I were to return to Hopkins.

Ocean breezes and views

Gorgeous location right on the beach. Cabana was very clean and tidy. Zero issues with critters of any kind. We visited the week of some of the hottest temps on record (last week of March) and were nervous about the lack of AC. The ocean breezes and ceiling fans worked great for keeping us cool. Loved the big porch and spent most of our time there. Host was great about providing check-in instructions well ahead of time and was gracious and responsive during our stay. Cabana is in Hopkins proper, so we definitely got a feel for the local setting rather than the more polished tourist version. Easy walks to well-stocked markets, dinner options, and Thongs Cafe next door had great breakfast and lunch food.

Beautiful kid safe beach right out your front door! Great location, really cool little house, and Mirko can organize anything for you. The only downfall is 4am karaoke from the bar next door, but that only happened on Friday and Saturday, and if I hadn’t been travelling with my children, I might have gone over for a song.

Great little hide away!

Had a great time and it was a great place to simply unwind and relax. Had a few issues with noise from the little place to the north but the complementary ear plugs were greatly appreciated. Great location close to shops and restaurants and the kitchen is nicely equipped if you want to eat in. It was a little warm with no air but the sea breezes made for some comfortable nights. Would surely stay again.

Stay at Blue Moon Cabana

We loved staying at Blue Moon Cabana. The location is excellent for walking around Hopkins as well as for activities outside of the village. Mirko was exceptionally helpful for scheduling tours and accommodating our last minute changes. He definitely made our trip very easy to plan. The house itself is well kept and exactly what we were looking for. It definitely gave us the authentic belizean trip we were looking for. The view is exceptional! I really appreciate the staff for accommodating us and helping us for the last few days of our trip.

The place has potential, but…

From the pictures it seemed perfect, but it turned out to be a disaster. 1. They had rats. There were rat droppings everywhere. The night we realized there were rats, one of the rats jumped on the bed with my friend, scaring the crap out of us! 2. someone stopped by the first day we were there to essentially “spy” on us. That made me very uncomfortable. And from that visit the property owner messaged me to tell me I had one more person than on the reservation and that I needed to pay an extra daily rate for the person or they would terminate my stay. This person was rude and I did not appreciate the delivery. 3. There is no AC. This place was just hot the entire time except for the nights it rained. The fans did not help. I would not recommend anyone to stay here nor would I stay at this place again.

Beautiful Belize

Blue moon cabana was perfect location. Had everything i needed and was clean. Host was easy to contact and extremely helpful. I would recommend renting a golf cart or bicycle if you dont have a car. However taxis are fairly easy to arrange. I had a great time in hopkins and met alot of wonderful people ❤️

The best!!

We loved our stay at Blue Moon. Mirko was easy to Communicate with and was quick to respond. We booked our tours and shuttle through him. We loved having the deck to chill out on, and the fresh coconut juice in the fridge for when we arrived. We’d stay here again.

Great beachfront cabana!

Our family of three stayed here for our time in Hopkins. The cabana was well appointed, great location, walking distance to shopping, restaurants. We jumped in the sea every morning after our breakfast and loved having the beach as our front yard. Happy hour each evening on the veranda was so relaxing, as was falling asleep to the waves. The neighbor on north side of cabana plays radio at night so if that would bug you use the earplugs provided. We also had an issue with a critter joining our vacation (village life!) but was easily remedied with a live trap, which the host reimbursed and it did not put a damper on our trip. Mirko was easily reachable and helpful in arranging a snorkeling trip/day at South Water Caye with a boat, captain, and guide. Would definitely stay here again!

Fun beachfront cabana

This was the perfect place for my wife and I, and our eight-year-old daughter. Located close to some good restaurants, and the beach out front is perfect. Somebody comes regularly to clean the beach and rake the sand to keep everything tidy. Patio is great for hanging out, and the cabana is cozy and inviting. Would definitely come back.

Sounds of the ocean: ultra-peaceful!

The place is right on the beach so you fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and/or rain on the roof. Hopkins is low-key, great food, plenty of opportunities to do stuff or just lie around. We did both.

Blue Moon Cabana was built in July/August 2011 after several years of planning and hard work to make it happen. We put our hearts and souls into the cabana and wanted to build a home that fit with the culture of Hopkins. It was important to us to create a space that was comfortable and included all the things we would want ourselves in a rental cabana in Belize. We are not into the resort experience and value the local culture and people of Hopkins. We leave the resort-type experience to the places south of the village. Mirko, who lives nearby Blue Moon Cabana is available to assist guests with all their needs during their stay, including transfer to and from the airport (and other locations) and arranging tours and other adventures for guests.

Hopkins is a laid back village with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea and Maya Mountains on the other side. We chose a beachfront lot in the village because we wanted to be central to everything, including the beautiful people in the village. Hopkins has a rich cultural life --and traditional Garifuna life is evident throughout the village.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Blue Moon Cabana is centrally located in the village which allows us to soak up the rich cultural life of the village. Local restaurants and other popular establishments are within walking distance from the cabana, but guests can also rent bicycles to get around, too.

The cabana itself is high off the ground and steps from the sea --and since the cabana has lots of windows, there are usually fabulous breezes flowing throughout the house. The views from the veranda are stunning!

Hopkins is a great base to enjoy day and half-day trips to the jungle, mountains, and cayes. In addition to relaxing on the veranda or on the beach in front of the cabana, there are so many adventures to enjoy in and around the village.
