Birthday stay at the beach

We were celebrating a 70 birthday at the beach and selected Sea Colony 5A. It was on the first floor; they had an elevator which was great as we had a lot of things to take up the stairs. The bedrooms and bathrooms had been remodeled and were beautiful. The view was just what we wanted, we could see the ocean from the living room, kitchen and on the deck! We had a absolutely wonderful time and I hope we can rent this condo again!

PERFECT WEEKEND

We stayed for Labor Day weekend, and we didn't want to leave! The condo was very clean, and the property managers were incredibly organized. They also communicated especially well, which we appreciated. The location couldn't be better, eating each meal while looking at the ocean was a treat. Our only slight issue was that the beds were uncomfortable, super hard. It wouldn't keep us from booking again, but next time we'll bring a mattress topper. Overall, we absolutely loved it!

Place was clean. View was great. Comfy beds. No issue with check in. Eveeything was as described. Storage has some basics for rhe beach, great help (would have been nice to know that) Would have liked to see vents in the bathrooms, but not a big deal. Our stay was crazy hot (real feel of of over 100 degrees outside, so the bathrooms got a bit warm) Pool was a huge plus, wish the property would invest in some umbrellas as it gets hot and there is only one place with shade. There was an umbrella in storage that we found to use. Minimal supplies compared to other places we have stayed (which was called out in our check in). Make sure to grab TP, PT, trash bags, etc. The place seemed to be a dead zone for cell service. 3 different provider (spectrum, att ans verizon) and it was hit or miss on if you could make calls out or recieve texts, not a huge issue, but just an FYI to other guests. Had to rely on internet. One huge plus would be to leave check out instructions and wifi on a print out and to provide a dish rag to wash dishes aside from the dishwasher.

Great View. Okay Stay.

The view from this property is great and the location is ideal. Close to the boardwalk, restaurants, and shopping, but far enough away to avoid the chaos. The space worked well enough for our family of four, but it was not among the top places we've stayed. There were several things that impacted our stay:1. Check in process is cumbersome as you have to stop at the office for keys. The front door has a keypad, but you need to pick up the storage and pool keys. Those could easily be stored in the unit.2. When we picked up the keys, we were not even given the correct ones. We had no pool keys and had to go back to the office a couple days later. The office is fairly close, but still a major inconvenience.3. The dishes and cups were visibly dirty when we arrived. We had to hand wash multiple things before we could even use them.4. Speaking of dishes, washing them by hand was an issue as there is no sponge or scrub brush provided.5. Unit provides very little toilet paper and paper towels. You need to bring your own. You also need to bring trash bags which all seems a bit ridiculous based on the cost of the unit.All in all we had a decent time and it was a good home base, but it's unlikely we'd stay here again.

Old and needs repaired/major updating

Everything in condo 5A needs to be fixed, replaced or cleaned. The dishwasher and clothes dryer don't work. Cabinets broken, refrigerator door shelves broken, bathroom cabinets broken, lounge chairs on the balcony broken with rusty nails sticking out. Everything is very old and ugly, it looks like everything was purchased at the goodwill or pulled out of a dumpster. The distance to the beach, oceanfront, is the only nice thing the condo has going on. The pool was basic and no bathrooms by the pool area. This place looks like it's owned by a complete slumlord. Reminds me of camp as a kid in a dirty old shack in the woods. Owner should be embarrassed and feel guilty for collecting so much cah for so filthy of a condo. If you money is paying for anything it's only the location, everything else is trashy.

Mediocre stay

The view of the ocean, from this property is stunning! Fair enough, this was one of the very few 2 bedroom ocean front rentals I could find on a last minute booking. We were only a month or so out. I wouldn’t have chosen this property, had I had more choices, so I did go in with lower expectations. The property is older, with few upgrades. I can do older because of the spectacular views. The unfortunate part was the overall cleanliness and drab furnishings. The patio furniture was peeling apart and warped, which definitely destroyed the enjoyment of the ocean views. Not having comfortable seating limited our time on the patio. While comfortable, the couches in the living room were always damp. I can understand, this is an ocean front property, however, we never left the patio doors open and I have rented more than 10 different ocean front properties and never had this occur. The stove/oven was fantastic, however the kitchen lacked utensils- no spatulas, and the one rubber spatula I tried using melted in my breakfast. Pots and pans were quite good and some looked new. The kitchen cabinets were all very sticky as well. The counters in the kitchen were quite stained also. Dirty corners were every where in the house. The light fixtures in the bathrooms were caked with dust. The showers both left something to be desired where dark mold (?) was showing through the caulk that was attempting to cover it up. Bathroom shower fixtures were also caked inside with what looked like mold. Floors of shower were dark with something on them. We all had to wear flip flops while showering. Washer and dryer and electronics all worked great. The property is nice. The pool deck is small, but the furniture is ok- as in not totally broken. The pool was rather dirty most days with hair, oil and lots of ants and small bugs in the water. We were yelled at and threatened by a neighbor one evening while rinsing our feet at the shower. A woman came down with a large dog, yelling at my family and another family, as we strolled the beach at dusk and were rinsing our feet at the pool entrance shower. We were all dressed from dinner, but she assumed we were going on to swim and screamed at us that the pool was CLOSED! She proceeded down the stairs with a large white dog continuing to yell that she was calling the police on us. We explained we were simply washing our feet. My 8 year old cried for an hour thinking I was going to be arrested and the police were coming.

Needs serious updating

Everything is in need of updating, from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the furniture inside and outside. The mattresses are hard as well, I slept in the recliner.
