We loved this location and home! It was spacious and beautifully decorated, safely tucked away in a nice neighborhood, and close to amenities and close downtown Highlands AND Cashiers. We made good use of the kitchen, hot tub, and cozy screen porch with fireplace. Our teen children and small dogs appreciated the outdoor spaces and babbling brook where they explored. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and checking in/out was a breeze. I highly recommend staying here!

This is our second time to stay at this home. We really enjoyed it! Home is very clean and the owner is great to work with! Great location between Highlands and Cashiers. We loved the hot tub. Also really enjoyed the fireplace on the porch. We had a wonderful time. We hope to come back!

We love this property - fantastic, secluded location in a quiet private neighborhood and everything you need to stay in a wonderful escape from the Atlanta summer heat and noise. We have stayed here many times - see my prior reviews. Minutes from Highlands dining and shopping, trail heads, and also conveniently located to Cashiers. We can’t wait to stay again. Book well in advance - this property is popular!

We spent a peaceful 10 nights at this beautiful home enjoying the sounds of nature and mountain breeze. It was ideal for our family of four, with three en suite bathrooms so everyone could have their space. The outdoor fireplace within the screened porch was where we were found most evenings, reading by the fire.The property feels private yet is within easy proximity to fine dining, shopping, festivals and concerts in Highlands.We enjoyed hiking at Whiteside Mountain, Chinquapin Mountain, Sunset Rock and other trails all within 15 minutes of the home, as well.Very relaxing stay.We plan to re-book next year.

Highlands Family Trip

Everything about this trip was great. House was perfect and Hosts were great with communicating and answering questions. Would recommend for a weekend or longer.

Christmas 2024

The most fabulous cabin we have ever stayed in. It was spotless, cozy and had plenty of room for our family to relax. The outdoor fireplace was amazing plus an indoor gas fireplace. We are looking forward to coming back to the area in different seasons. We felt so blessed to be together in this wonderful place to celebrate Christmas!

Beautiful Fall Getaway!

My husband and I have enjoyed staying at this property many times (see prior reviews), but I don't recall that we have ever visited this late in the fall. While we typically visit to escape the Atlanta summer heat, we absolutely LOVED visiting this time of year! The foliage was just beautiful, and the temperature cool and pleasant. The property itself was just as always - 10 out of 10. Fantastic location, gorgeous home, clean, spacious, excellent communication with the hosts - all you need for a relaxing getaway. A couple of notes not specifically related to this property but to visiting Highlands at this time. First, Dillard Road was closed due to hurricane damage, so we went through South Carolina instead of our normal route from Atlanta. Traffic apps will guide you around closed roads. Second, several restaurants are closed for the season, but Paoletti was open and bursting with business! Really some of the best food in Highlands but you should always book a reservation. Can't wait to book our next stay at this property, and thanks again to the hosts for another fantastic trip!

Autumn Mountain Retreat

Creekside Cabin - Can’t beat it!

We have stayed at this home about a dozen times, and it continues to be our #1 choice in the Highlands / Cashiers area (if we can book it - book in advance!) As I stated in my review of our June 2024 visit to this property, the home is beautiful, well equipped, clean, the owners are communicative, and the location is excellent and so conveniently located to hiking, fine dining, and everything we escape the Atlanta summer heat to enjoy. One thing I don’t think I mentioned before - my husband and I both work remotely from this property while we are there, and unlike other places we have stayed in Highlands, the WiFi / internet connection / phone service has never failed. That is a huge consideration in the area which often has terrible service. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Another wonderful stay at Creekside Cabin!

My husband and I have stayed at Creekside Cabin many times over the years and have always had the most relaxing, peaceful time. This visit was no exception. We love getting out of the Atlanta heat (and noise) in the summer, and Creekside Cabin can't be beat. The home is spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you would need. It is located in a quiet wooded community that is centrally located to the town of Highlands as well as Cashiers (restaurants, grocery and liquor stores, farmer's market, etc.) and near to some of the best trail heads for hiking. Highly recommend for a cool, quiet getaway with your spouse, friends, or family near to excellent dining and outdoor experiences!

A+ mountain cabin in the middle of it all!

Great stay with my family, including 8 year old and 4 year old. The cabin is beautiful and in a very quiet neighborhood. Hot tub was clean and wonderful in the evenings. We spent the majority of our evenings on the screened porch with wood-burning fireplace and TV. Excellent location that is equidistant to both downtown Highlands and downtown Cashiers (~12 minutes to each). I had one embarrassing user error issue with the coffee maker and the owners were SUPER quick to respond to my email with help. Would definitely stay here again!

Break from heat

We always have a wonderful time at this beautiful home, but had especially good time by having friends with us. We hiked rainbow falls and weather was perfect. The home never disappoints us, clean, well stocked, perfect location. Can’t wait till next visit.

Christmas in the Mountains

Our family had the pleasure of celebrating Christmas in this lovely mountain home. It was a perfect set up for the three couples. We had everything we needed to prepare meals and dine in comfort. Evenings in the hot tub provided stunning views of the starry skies and the nearby Shortoff mountain. It really was an idealistic location to make new family memories.

Very high end mountain get-away

Better than expected. All amenities were great. We particularly loved the outdoor porch with the fireplace and the hot tub. We had many rain-filled days so the porch was wonderful. Close to town - loved the nearby waterfalls .

Perfect multigenerational family lodging

Derrick’s beautiful mountain home was the perfect getaway for our family vacation. Everyone - ranging in age from 2 to 72 - had a wonderful time and found the vacation rental to be both lovely and homey. We loved the screened in porch but also particularly appreciated the amazing and well stocked kitchen, which let us enjoy family meals in instead of going out for every meal. The proximity to both Highlands and Cashiers is wonderful.

Mountain cabin

We loved our stay at the Creekside Cabin. The cabin was the perfect size for our family and close to hiking, waterfalls and town. It was cool enough for nightly fires on the porch or in the fire pit. Thank you for hosting us!

We live just outside Atlanta, we have three children, and we are self employed in the construction industry. Highlands is the area we have identified as our retirement location.
