Annual Family Beach Getaway

The host is very friendly. They were very quick to reply to my questions. The house looked as good and as big in the pictures. The house was very clean when we got there. Overall, we will definitely recommend this property and plan to come back next year.

We had an absolutely lovely time at Moonstruck

Our whole family enjoyed our stay at Moonstruck. we had a little confusion with the crib company when we first arrived, but they were apologetic and sent over complimentary items that were appreciated. the elevator was a blessing. The pool is a bit small for all the families that share in the use of it. The golf cart was also a wonderful blessing. We did receive a ticket ($100)for leaving the golf cart parked while unloading it. They are serious when they say no parking for any reason.

Had such a great time!

Our extended family stayed in this house. We had four different families and each has lots of room. Everything was stocked in the kitchen and easy to make meals. The main living space was very comfortable for 13 people. We ran out of toilet paper, but that was fine. We picked up extra toilet paper and paper towels at Publix. We loved this property because it was in a neighborhood vs being right in the middle of chaos during the busy June season. We rode the bikes and used the golf cart for a really short (maybe 3 min) ride to the beach and restaurants near by. The beach was sooo nice. It was quiet, not too crowded, close to the house, and felt private. The house was really clean and the bedding was great. We really loved our stay and will be booking again!!!

Awesome house, will book again!

The house is awesome & the elevator is a plus! But, on the day we’re leaving a gentleman on a bicycle with thick tires came to check everything(it seemed like to us) & asked us if all 10 of us were housekeeping staff or checking out. I guess 30A doesn’t see a lot of “color” in the area? To us, that question that gentleman asked us was uncalled for but, we ignored it & hope someone will take care of it after they’ve read my review. Again house, town…awesome but, that staff member might need some more training on how interact with different cultures.

We would love to come back and stay again.The only issue we had was trying to clean our feet before we entered the home. The Hose on the side of the home was in a bad location. The hose was not long enough to wash feet and legs without having to climb slippery stairs. Stepping stones provided werecovered in dirt and pine needles, so it was impossible to get our feet clean to go into the home. It was especially hard with children. Thanks again for a relaxing vacation.

The beds were all really nice. The bathrooms were clean and roomy. The master bathroom-I could live in it! The kitchen was stocked way beyond our expectations. They do have a grill-we didn't see this listed anywhere. The location to the beach was an easy 5 minute walk. We would make multiple trips each day walking. The rental company that manages this property was also really good to work with. There is an app that is provided that gives really useful information about the house and area. Our families fell in love with the area and this house. We will definitely be back!

Great house for a large family

The layout of this house was really good for our family of 13. The kitchen and family area on the 3rd floor was perfect to gather in and the large porch was used often. Elevator was handy to handle loads. Ice machine was a really good one and the drink fridge was perfect so we had more room in the kitchen fridge. Golf cart was perfect for shuttling back and forth from the beach to carry all of our beach stuff as it is a pretty long walk to the beach entrance. Only two negatives as we saw it. The beach is public and gets really crowded regardless of what time you set up. There are private beaches on both sides, so it gets tight. We adjusted, but it was a bit of a surprise. The street the house is on is tight. The garage is a single car and has the golf cart, so you park one car in the driveway. Not room for two because you are using the golf cart. There are spaces at the nd of the street by the pool, but there were times we couldn't park there because spaces were taken. The house is great and we had four families so, four cars. All said, we had a good time and the host was easy to work with. We were at the beach!

Great for a large group

Our extended family stayed for a week and it was overall a great stay. We were able to check in early, which was very much appreciated!! The house is a short bike ride to the beach. The included golf cart was a huge plus. We took it to the beach when we set up and broke down our spot. We also took it to the Big Chill a few times. We ordered separate bikes for the kids because the ones included were adult size and they enjoyed riding around. The house layout was great. We liked the huge sectional couch in the den and on the patio. It was super conducive to a large group. The neighborhood pool was a few houses down. The kids didn’t use this much as it was smaller than our pools at home! Lol. Upon arrival we had some issues with the elevator and I was worried because we had our 92 year old grandmother with us. Maintenance was called and he arrived very quickly and was very friendly and accommodating. I liked the texting feature you could use, which made communication very easy. We had a problem with sugar ants in the kitchen, but I think that could be remedied pretty easily. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and very much liked the house. We would stay again for sure!

The house was clean on arrival. We did have to empty the dishwasher and dryer since both were full although clean. Not too big of a deal. There were plenty of beach toys and chairs for our use. We were thankful for the golf cart to help us transport us and our beach items daily. The one thing that challenged us, was parking at the beach. The small lot was at least 300 yards from the beach access and although we were able to drop off the items, baby’s gear and toys, we were required to park in the very small lot, which at times was full. Also, beware of trying to park along the street. You may get a ticket! And we were warned (by police officers) to use a car seat for infants and toddlers riding in a golf cart!The pool, which was close, was adequate and clean. The house did work great for our party of 8 adults, 3 children and 1 infant.

Reviewer Comments: During our stay we were left with about 8 towels to furnish the entire home which wasn’t nearly enough for our group.Once I called and asked for more, they brought them the next day. During our stay the elevator broke which was repaired in a timely manner but the refrigerator broke mid way through and was never repaired during our stay. Another one was brought in but placed on the first floor and the kitchen is on the 3rd floor which made cooking difficult at best and we had food spoilage too. Lastly, the clothes dryer broke but was repaired in a couple of days. May have just been a case of bad luck but it was frustrating and we only received a very very very small refund for our inconvenience which was frustrating. Beautiful home and great location with very comfortable beds. The house is kind of loud though given it’s all hardwood and tile. Area rugs could help a lot with this.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice...however we had grandparents with our group and the furnishings were not comfortable for an older person. The furniture is very low to the ground and very difficult to get up from. The only other option for sitting is in plastic chairs which were not comfortable at all....thus not a relaxing week at all for the older folks. There really is no ocean view. That should not be in the description. Very misleading....many houses between this house and the beach. On a clear day u may see a very small part of ocean between houses but not enough to enjoy or actually call a “view”. Elevator was fine but very slow. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware. Location was good...a couple of blocks to beach. Nice that bikes and golf cart were included. House is well kept. Golf cart did not work when we arrived and had to contact maintenance to put in a new battery the following day. Felt this should have been checked before each guest arrival.

Thank you for your review! I hate that you did not feel comfortable in the furniture. The decor is modern, and just as pictured, but next time please call us prior to booking with a concern like this and we will be sure to help you pick something that best suits your older guests. Our reservation agents have all vacationed in these homes and know them well. Home elevators aren't known for their speed, that is true. I'm glad your older guests did have this however. As for the view- this does confuse me. There is a beautiful gulf view from this home. It is not gulf front, so don't expect that but it is just as pictured (better, really. Photos never give the gulf views full justice). The golf cart is all fixed. We do respond to issues as quickly as possible as you saw while you were there. Thanks!

Nice Place to Stay with a Larger Group

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 5 families staying together at Moonstruck #8, and we were generally pleased with the property. Positives: - Property was clean.- Rooms are spacious. Living area on the 3rd floor was somewhat strange, but allowed for views from the balcony. - Beds were comfortable, linens were decent quality.- Plenty of cookware, utensils, dishes, etc. Gas range made cooking a breeze.- Balconies were a great space to hang out, but a little too small for the entire group. - 4th of July fireworks shows all down the various communities could be seen from the 4th floor balcony. - Golf cart was absolutely crucial for bringing people and larger items to the beach, and it worked great.- There were a ton of beach toys and chairs in the garage, which we didn't use. Negatives:- A/C struggled to cool 3rd and 4th floors for some reason. 1st and 2nd floors were absolutely freezing cold day and night. During the middle of the day, we couldn't get the living area / kitchen below 75 degrees. At night, we could get them to 72. - Several bathroom doors would not lock due to broken hardware.- Elevator stopped working on July 3rd evening and we had to call a technician. Couldn't get assistance on the 4th because they were off for the holiday. Waited 2 days for elevator to be fixed. - The walk to the beach wasn't terrible, but we found ourselves shuttling people with the golf cart due to the distance. - Lack of parking was disappointing. Only room for 2 cars at a 5 bedroom property seems incredibly lacking. Most of the other properties around us had more spaces.- We did have an issue with ants in the kitchen for most of the stay, which seems crazy considering the kitchen is on the 3rd floor.- Ice maker in the utility room wasn't producing much ice. We found ourselves going to the gas station down 30A multiple times during the week.- Community pool was very small, and extremely hot.
