LISTADO NUEVO PARA 2019 - Casa histórica recientemente renovada en la isla

Construida en la década de 1920 por el Capitán Myron Garrish, esta casa histórica de la isla se ha ampliado y renovado completamente hasta los sementales. Se han levantado los cimientos, se ha elevado el techo y ahora es el momento de elevar sus expectativas para un paso agradable y cómodo en el tiempo en el carril de arena más histórico de la isla.
Acurrucada dentro de los antiguos robles vivos, Howard St es un lugar tranquilo y pacífico en la isla, sin embargo, esta casa está ubicada a pocos pasos de restaurantes, tiendas y el mágico puerto de Silver Lake. Justo al lado está nuestra otra casa, la querida casa de Elsie, por lo que tendrá la oportunidad de alquilar ambas si necesita más espacio para reuniones familiares más grandes.
Con espacios abiertos, 3 habitaciones confortables y baños de lujo, creemos que se sentirá como en casa tan pronto como entre. El porche delantero será tu percha para relajarte y convertirte en un O´Cocker, incluso si es solo por un momento. Venga a disfrutar!

The host was very helpful and was always quick to respond to messages. The house was the perfect choice for us. It had all the things we needed and more. The beds were comfortable and I slept like a baby while I was there. I would definitely recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The house is very charming and holds rich history. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and the furnishings were true to the history of the home. The bed was comfortable and we were within walking distance of the village festivities. Kathy was a great hostess and very accommodating of us. I highly recommend this gem of a home on Howard street.

This was about the 15th stay on Ocracoke and this place was my favorite. I’ll definitely stay again. We loved it all! And the porch was perfect for morning coffee! Great location. We loved reading the history of the place. Very well done all around! And the host was great to answer right away. Perfect.

Charming, clean, convenient. We loved our stay here! Owners have put a lot of love into restoring this home and we felt lucky to enjoy it. Howard St is an awesome central location, very walkable. The tv’s sound wasn’t working correctly (could have been the Wi-Fi connection) when we tried it on a rainy day. Not a big deal to us- but may matter to another guest. Kitchen had all we needed to cook at home. Loved the outdoor shower/hoses, and the mudroom area. The front porch was our favorite spot of all! So relaxing.

We have been coming to Ocracoke for nearly 30 years and this by far is the best house we’ve ever stayed in. The house is incredibly comfortable, well decorated and well stocked. We loved that there was even a book that detailed the history of the home. I cannot recommend Myron’s place enough!

Myron's Place was perfect for my family

My family really enjoyed our stay at Myron's. The place has a lot of charm, character and is perfect for an Ocracoke getaway. We loved sitting on the porch, the location and history. Most things are very walkable or bike-able. I will definitely look to stay here agin when visiting.

Needs some TLC

Stayed here last year and loved it. This year the cleanliness of the property had declined. Outside deck and furniture were filthy this year and the place was less clean in general than it should have been. Great place, love the deck and outdoor shower, but needs some TLC.

Can't Wait to Visit Again!

We so enjoyed our stay at Myron's Place! The location cannot be beat, and the details at the house were so charming and perfect. What a treat to have all of the kitchen utensils and supplies to make a week there feel like home. And if you don't want to cook, even better - you're a stone's throw away from any restaurant you want to go to! We can't wait to plan another trip in years to come. Magical Getaway

This beautiful restored home within walking distance to the village and enclosed with beautiful trees is the perfect get away The home is warm and inviting and beautifully restored. The host communicates promptly however everything was perfect and we did not have any needs. February was a great time to visit the island and we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves There were two restaurants open and both served delicious foods. They also had gluten free options. There was a small grocery and a great tea shop and book store . We had the entire beach to ourselves.

Another Great Stay at Myron’s Place!

This is our 3rd stay at Myron’s place and we couldn’t imagine a single place that would suit our needs and enjoyment better. It will ALWAYS be our first choice for a VRBO on Ocracoke! Location, friendly neighbors, great porch, well appointed kitchen and comfy place to relax. We’ll be back!

Charming House in an ecletic neighborhood near all of the best restaurants and town attractions.

Everything about the property was nicely cared for and it was very thoughtfully renovated. Fully equipped with the latest appliances and extras. The location is central and great for whatever you want to do on the island. The only thing we didn't love was the mattress in the queen room - it’s very soft and could use an update.

Perfect place to stay

We had a wonderful stay and couldn't have asked for a better house on our first weeklong stay in Ocracoke. The photos don't do it justice. It was comfortable and cozy, and full of unique architectural details...not to mention a great front porch on a charming, quiet street. Convenient location to the village. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay in a charming place

It has been way too long since our last visit to Ocracoke and Myron's Place was a fantastic place to stay for our return. My wife and I took a long weekend and enjoyed the quiet of Ocracoke. Myron's Place was newly renovated, and we loved the attention to detail. The place was spotless upon our arrival and the host was responsive and fantastic to work with. Definitely plan to revisit!

Wonderful stay!

Location was ideal for our first visit to Ocracoke, everything was within walking distance giving so much flexibility and independence for the older kids. House was fabulous, so cosy and had everything we needed for a much needed vacation away from home. Only problem was we couldn't stay longer!

Our first trip to Ocracoke was the year we met in 1981. We fell in love with each other and the island, never thinking we would someday own a home with the dream of someday living there. Currently working in Raleigh with 2 kids to put through college, those dreams are in the future. We escape in either direction - to the mountains and to the coast (check out our Blowing Rock listings #486190 and #1182504) and for now we look for folks who also share an appreciation of Ocracoke and would enjoy staying in an island home on a sandy lane that captures times past. Our hope is that you will feel part of this community.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We bought the home next door, Elsie’s House, in 2011. Built in 1888 it had a deep history and connection to the people who live on the island. The house originally belonged to Myron’s parents, Simon and Sarah Garrish, who had 57 Howard built for him in the 1920s. When it came up for sale, we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring this house back to life.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Enjoy the enlarged front porch and wave to passers by. Look up at the original ceiling just outside the front door and you will see a square cut in the boards. This is the evidence of an escape plan by two terrified occupants of the house in the devastating 1944 Great Atlantic Hurricane who took to the attic to escape the rising waters. We decided to raise the house rather than put a hinge and a handle on the old hatch!
