It was a great long weekend. Had all amenities needed. Met the manager and she was great. Place felt and looked very clean,( futon could use an update). Place was safe and quiet, despite high college area. Great location, a quick hop to the beach and food options! Would stay here again.

The selling point is obviously the 10 seconds walk to the beach. For 12 days, we enjoyed awesome weather and super easy access to Mission Beach. The penthouse is great for a couple, even for hosting local friends for a daytime barbecue. The roof deck is super spacious and has tons of seating for hosting. The place was clean and caught the ocean breeze, even had AC if it ever got too hot. Our pup loved sitting on the living room deck and watching the strandway.

Maurice has amazing communication. The place was nice and walking distance to many restaurants and of course its about 50ft to the beach which was amazing.

We had such a wonderful time at this property! It was SO close to the beach and plenty of space for our family of 6. My kids loved the rooftop "lounge" and my teen thought the grill was fantastic, if a little slow to heat. Air conditioning made it comfortable even in the evening sun. The kitchen and garage were very well supplied. Our minivan did just barely fit in the garage with lots of maneuvering. We did have to pull it out a couple feet for dryer access. We had a great week playing in the ocean and sand.

Beautiful views all day and night! Closest you can get to the beach without the foot traffic. Amenities were endless. Grage parking, tight for a minivan, but loved the security of it! Rooftop and side patio 10/10. Will be back in the future!!!

An Unforgettable ExperienceIf you’re looking for a place that truly transports you — perhaps back in time — this is it. The home tells a story with every surface: a delicate layer of sand throughout lends a beachy vibe (even in the oven!), and the lovingly preserved vintage rust and mold add a certain… patina. It’s rare to find a property where you can contemplate both tetanus and tetrachloride at once — a real thrill!The kitchen dishes come pre-seasoned with mysterious smudges (great for those who hate doing dishes on vacation), and the oven has a rebellious spirit — part performance art, part hazard. Sleeping arrangements were definitely an adventure in creativity; what the listing calls “sleeping spaces” may be better described as interpretive. Our son even woke up with mystery bruises, courtesy of the “accommodation” — proof that the furniture, like the rest of the house, really leaves a mark.Overall, it’s an experience that lingers with you — in your memories, your luggage, and possibly your immune system. Five stars for boldness, for character, and for reminding us that not all vacations are meant to be relaxing — some are meant to be survived.

Misrepresentation of sleep capasity

The location was great and the facilities were fine. But, they represented that it slept 8. There are two bedrooms, one queen and one king. The main living room has two futon like couches that unfold into “ beds”. They are not comfortable and impossible to put bedding on. So, they really shouldn’t represent that it sleeps 8. Maybe 5 or 6, but really perfect for 4. Hey, but the roof top area is cool.

Beautiful house & location!

We had a great stay here. The location was absolutely perfect being so close to the beach but not directly on the boardwalk. The only thing, which wasn’t an issue for us since we were strictly there to relax, was the wifi did not work at all while we were there. So if someone had to do work, I could see that being an issue, but otherwise a perfect stay! We will be back.

Perfection

We came on spring break with our 3 kids. The location was amazing and the view is gorgeous. Very clean and organized with all the amenities. Outside patio area is great and has extra beach toys for kinds to enjoy. The communication was seamless and efficient. We didn’t want to leave, and can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Awesome location and property

This is a very nice place to stay that is so close to the beach. The property manager was readily available to help when we couldn’t figure out something in the bathroom and he didn’t hesitate to come immediately and show us rather than instruct us over the phone. Very kind! The rooftop deck was fantastic!

Family getaway

This VRBO was perfect for our young families stay. The location was unbeatable, walking distance to so many shops, restaurants and the beach. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with things we used. Overall the unit was clean, comfortable and big enough for myself, my husband and my three children.

Great Location

My family and I spent a week enjoying a great view of the ocean from the rooftop and kitchen balcony. Very short walk to Mission Beach. We felt safe the whole time and loved how close we were to restaurants, shopping and other attractions.

Perfect house!

Halfway through our stay, I was already looking at other properties that are ran by Maurice and his team for a future vacation. This house specifically is in the best location. Close walking distance to everything, comfortable beds, perfect places to relax from the rooftop to the patio and so much more. As many other have mentioned, Maurice is the perfect host. He replied within minutes to all requests and was very kind. I can’t speak highly enough and would give this place more than 5 stars if possible. Perfect getaway and we are looking forward to visiting again!

Great Location

My husband, 2 year old and I stayed in the penthouse for 5 nights and enjoyed the location and private space, including the garage and rooftop. The property manager was really responsive to any questions or requests we had. I don't think the property is good for young kids given the safety considerations of the stairs and low windows but we made it work. I recommend replacing the pillows, primary bedroom bed and broken fan/light to make it even more comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience.

Steps away from Pacific Beach

We had a great stay at this location. Our furst time renting a home. Alot of room for our whole family. We enjoyed being walking distance from restaurants and the beach. The rooftop patio was great for chillin and viewing. We will definitely stay again.

Amazing place to stay!

This property was everything it promised to be! The rooftop desk was a joy to spend the afternoon and evening on for dinner, sunbathing, relaxing, and just hanging out. Being only a short walk to the beach was a plus. We were here for the San Diego Beach to Bay Half Marathon and this place was closely located to the course so we could cheer our family on. The managers and housekeeping were a pleasure to work with and quickly answered all of our questions. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all that we needed. Overall, a great place to stay.

Great stay

Location was great - feet in the sand within seconds of the door. Maurice was helpful and accommodating. Would've like to use rooftop deck more but weather didn't cooperate. Great stay for the family.

Amazing location

Loved location & property! Very quiet, yet only 100 ft from beach, a few blocks from bars & restaurants. Love the privacy & quiet of NOT being directly on beach. Secure enclosed garage for small/mid size car/suv. Amazing upper deck with 360 view & comfy furniture, one of best in area. Second cozy balacony off of kitchen/living area with view of ocean between buildings. Great for breakfast. Pictures are accurate, high ceiling make rooms feel even bigger in person. Bathrooms & kitchen were clean & well stocked, although all floors could use a good wet mopping. Beds comfortable, and linens very clean. Only disappointment is minor water leak and water damage in both bedroom walk in closets. One closet window was also broken, letting in air. Fortunately, closing the closet door kept the weather out of the rest of the unit. Discussed with managed who said it was storm damage and they would be replacing the windows this week. Easy check in, manager Maurice is very friendly and easy to contact on app. Must see: visit Joey at Pump Coffee a few blocks away for amazing coffee and local tips on where to eat. His tips lead us to some of the best fish we've ever had, reasonably priced too.
