Great location! Nice, short, easy walk to the beach with our chairs and umbrella. Also a short walk to restaurants. Very comfortable and at a super-reasonable price. We would certainly rent this property again.

Great place in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach

Couldn’t recommend enough—a great location for spending days at the beach, but far enough from coastal highway that it’s quiet.

Perfect little getaway

The location was fantastic!! Owner/host was super!! Overall, it was a very positive experience. The house was clean, well equipped, functional and easy to stay in!

Nice stay close to Dewey beach

The place is cute and quaint. It is in a nice neighborhood about a half mile from Dewey beach. The furniture is pretty old and the upstairs ceilings are quite low in places, but the place is comfortable and has a decent amount of space. We would stay here again!

Peaceful Stay In Dewey

The house is clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood is quiet. Kathy was very accomdating and accessible during my stay. If i were visiting Dewey in the future, I would stay here again

Great spot near the beach

We stayed here for an anniversary trip for 4 nights and enjoyed the location and space. Only a few blocks to walk to the beach and far enough away that the neighborhood is fairly quiet—great spot! The walls/door between the owners property and the rental apartment were a bit thin if you’re looking for a lot of privacy, but we were mostly out and about so it didn’t impact our stay.

Nice, quiet location

Kathy’s place is in a quiet part of Dewey but just a short walk to the center of town. It’s older but comfortable and priced well, with everything you need for some time at the beach. We enjoyed the weekend.

Great Place in Dewey

The owner is a wonderful host. The place is exactly as posted online. It was a very easy check in process. There was plenty of space for the four of us and we had a great stay. Very close to all Dewey beach has to offer. Owner was very responsive.

Great location, lovely host

This was a super easy, low-key stay. Responsive host. Easy check in (and she let us come early!) and super easy check out. The place is about 3 medium to longish blocks from the beach. Swedes beach is a great location with lifeguards on duty in summer.

Perfect & Relaxing Stay

My group of friends (3 couples altogether) stayed here over the weekend and could not have had a better time. It was clean, relaxing and close to everything Dewey has to offer. We also really enjoyed the fact it was tucked a couple blocks in from the main strip- it was very peaceful. We loved the private back porch area. We rented a bonfire permit for Saturday night (highly recommend) as Kathy gave us great recommendations on where to look online for events/things to do. She was also incredibly welcoming and kind. We couldn’t recommend a stay at her place enough, and hope to come back again next year!

Great stay at the Mar Shack!

We had a great long weekend at the Mar Shack! Property was clean and as described. We spent a lot of time in the backyard patio area which was very peaceful. Definitely not a short walk to the beach but it’s manageable if you pack lean - or if you’re up early enough you can get a parking spot closer in for $3 an hour. We would definitely return!

Very enjoyable stay

Dewey Beach has always been one of our favorite places to stay & we were very happy to find this rental. It's in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the main road which was very nice at night when we just wanted to relax. It is 3 blocks from the beach so be prepared to bring everything with you that you may need so you don't have to go back & forth more than necessary. Kathy was a great host and very responsive. We left a few clothing items behind by mistake when we checked out and she was nice enough to ship them to us the next day! Very appreciated! We would stay again.

Beachy dated property

The property is dated. You have to enter through a garage and the old, mildew smell hits as soon as you enter the house. Its attached to the resident. The living space is big, but immediately you notice the old furniture and uncomfortable beds.

Great time in Dewey

The apartment definitely fit our needs. Having a garage was great for storing all of our beach gear. We enjoyed the back deck, and we had plenty of space. Everything we needed/expected was provided. The neighborhood was nice and safe for the kids to ride bikes. Kathy was a great host. The downside to the location was that it isn't all that close to the beach, but the trade-off was some privacy and a relatively quiet neighborhood. The rental was definitely an excellent choice for a small family.
