Over-Sold
this review is really a two-part review since there were two distinct areas to review. #1 was the Best of Mas management team that immediately took over once my booking was confirmed. The team of Sabrina, Francesca and Marta were awesome and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests for cooks to come in for us and rental cars for us that were waiting for us at the house when we arrived. Then there were several things that came up while we were there and these gals were on it! Can't say enough good about these gals and their team.
The house was disappointing for me, as i believe it was over-sold on the listing. The house is impressive- particularly the common areas, grand staircase and the grounds are pretty nice. Other parts of the house were not up to par with the rest of the house, particularly the kitchen which was one of the strangest kitchens I've seen, particularly for a house of this size. The listing boasts of a large in-ground pool and a separate hot tub on the property. Well the swimming pool itself was rather disgusting as the filter system was not on and there was a scum line on the liner just above the water line with salamanders and other dead bugs floating in the pool. Needless to say, nobody was interesting in sticking their toes in that water. The hot tub was not on when we got there so we asked for it to be cleaned and brought up to hot tub temperature. They did clean the tub but the temperature never got close to hot tub temperature so we never used this either. The pool and hot tub were both major disappointments.
when we were leaving in the early morning hours of our last day, the owner of the property - who was a nice man- was just hanging around while we were bringing out our luggage and waiting for our driver to show up. This we just weird and make everyone feel uncomfortable.
The location of the house was in a neighborhood with many house that all had dogs that were barking a lot of the time.....
So with some minor efforts this house would have been much more enjoyable for us.
