Okay house in great community

This house has a lot of potential but it missed the mark for our family trip. POSITIVES - Our family loves Arrowhead Lake. We have been coming on and off for 7 years and love the community and amenities. - There is ample parking and the driveway makes it easy to use for multiple vehicles - The furniture in the house is comfortable - The house is spacious and has a nice set up for multiple families NEGATIVES - The house is listed as having air conditioning. It only has a unit in 1 of the 3 bedrooms. The unit has not been properly installed to drain outside so if you are using it, it may beed to be emptied often (depending on the humidity). While you don’t often need A/C in the Poconos, we always need it on our family trips in August. We ended up leaving 2 days early because it was hot/humid/stormy. - The pictures on VBRO show 1 television. There are NO televisions in the house. Thankfully I saw that noted on another review prior to our trip so we were able to bring one with us. While most of our planned activities are outside, there are always stormy days where a TV is nice to have. - The house was not cleaned before we arrived. There were dead spiders on the beds. Live and dead ants throughout the downstairs (primarily in the master). I had to wipe down the fridge before putting our items in. - While it’s typical to see a binder in a home with things to do when you arrive and leave, there were notes throughout the house telling us what to do and what not to do. We didn’t feel welcome to make ourself comfortable and enjoy our vacation.

Good family vacation spot, nice home, some issues

The good stuff: the home is large, accommodated a retired couple, three younger adults, and a toddler in a lovely vacation spot convenient to beaches and pools. Quite comfy, great kitchen. The bad: the photos show a tv, listing shows cable/satellite, but there is none. The landlord's reply to our complaint? We can stream. We felt this reply was dismissive, and didn't address the inaccurate amenities list. There is no screen that could be used to stream so the family could watch a movie together or entertain a young child. The laundry room was filthy, and the outdoor chairs and barbecue should be replaced. The ugly: By far the most unpleasant thing about the home were the signs: Don't touch, take off shoes, don't cut on counters. A sign on the fridge says WELCOME and then lists a dozen chores to keep the place clean. Sweep the leaves off the deck? Give us a break. People are neat or slobs, signs don't change their behavior, especially when we charged for cleaning.

Watch out for fees

There are fees for car access and daily fees to access beaches and pools that weren’t mentioned in the listing. It would have been nice to know about them upfront. It is a nice quiet community, and the main pool has a fantastic view. The house was colder than we expected, and the fireplace was on when we got there. After turning it off as well as the gas to the fireplace, we still kept smelling natural gas when sitting near it. The sump pump was also extremely loud. In the main bedroom you can hear it clunk on fairly often.

Great property!

Very nice property at the perfect location. Very clean, and taken care of. Was pleasure to stay in it. We had our friends come over at the last moment, the owner was very communicative, he connected with main office and security so our friend would get additional gate pass! The community is very secure, lots of security personel, you feel safe inside the premises! Highly recommend! Thank you

Lake arrowhead

The house was very clean and met all the needs I had. The owner was very easy to work with and communicated well before abs during the visit. I would recommend this place to others looking for a long weekend away.

Beautiful scenery

My only complain was that some things were extremely dusty and some pans with left over food in them and the the tub drain didnt work and slowly drained but other than that, everything was beautiful. The area was gorgeous. I actually recommend my family to stay here for future plans because I never been so relaxed and enjoyed vacation like I did at this beautiful home. Thank you again for letting us stay here and hopefully soon I’ll be back!

Old/expired food in fridge and old toilet rolls and soap in the drawers!

I'll write the bad and the good because I believe in fairness. Please see my review below: The bad: 1. Old and expired food in the fridge 2. In a drawer in the bathroom there was old used toilet paper rolls and used bars of soap (perhaps this drawer was used for garbage) 3. Bread and a peeled orange on the counter in a decorative bowl 4. Food in the grill grate 5. No towels or face cloths 6. We had to register only 5 days before our stay and it was an additional 200$ for this! (keep in mind, nowhere in the posting or description did it say there was an additional fee) We had one vehicle, three adults, two teens and a child. When we registered we HAD to pay for the amenities even though we used none of them because it was rainy and cold all weekend AND I told the host we wouldn't be using them and he said well once you get there talk to them at check in. The lady at check-in said "we have told the hosts that they should let people know about that fee before hand, it has been a problem". She also said that it doesn't matter if you use the amenities or not you have to pay that additional money just because it's a gated community. The host said we could possibly get the money back, which was a fib, as I have been contacted by noone. 7. On top of the additional fee we also had to purchase towels. We knew we had to purchase linens, but not towels. We also had to purchase more spices for the food as everything was almost gone. There were very little cleaning supplies (one bottle of clean freak) so we purchased cleaning supplies, we had to even purchase soap. There was an empty hand soap container on the sink in one bathroom downstairs. 8. The vacuum was ancient and didn't work well In spite of all this we used our money to make sure the place was clean when we left so we weren't hit with any additional cleaning fees. 9. There is a pump attached to the house somewhere that is EXTREMELY loud, I mean so bad that it wakes you up in the middle of the night and all times of the morning 10. There are no tvs... 11. No patio furniture to sit outside on th beautiful porch 12. The house was FREEZING, no matter how we set the thermostat it didn't work. We had a tiny space heater and a second extremely small furnace downstairs 13. No pillows The Good: 1. Spacious and plenty of couches and seating indoors 2. Beds were comfy 3. Pretty close proximity to eateries and the food was very good 4. Close proximity to Ollie's 5. The beaches were nice 6. Grill worked

Beautiful property! So clean and quiet.

Joe is the most wonderful host. I wanted a peaceful place for my family to be together. Joe’s property is that and so much more. The home is very comfortable, close to the lake and hiking trails. I look forward to visiting again

Great experience

Loved it. Owners were great at communicating with us regarding our stay. Place was very clean, plenty of space and they had all the utensils we needed to cook our meals. Just bring your food, seasonings and linens (sheets, pillows, wash clothes and towels).

Short visit at the lake

Perfect location and number of rooms for my two teen daughters and myself. Spent most of my time hiking or with my mom who lives at the same lake, but could definitely see spending a week here. Lucked out with gorgeous 70+ degree weather in November! Thank you to the hosts for a comfortable home.

No have tv, no game, and the owner said all need bring paper , towels, soap, personal towel. No found gas, for BBQ, the frizer and refrigerator is full the food, and not have space for my food, not have bowl for mixed salad, not have sarten and something for make cook

Labor Day Weekend 20

We had a great time! Just be prepared to bring a laptop or own t.v. because there is not one on property. If weather is Good not an issue , but if rains you are definitely looking for something to do together other than playing games.

no lake view

The house was nice and clean and its yard and setting was nice. However, the property was advertised as lakeview and it had NONE. You cannot see any part of the lake because it is blocked by the houses up front. The sitting in the house was also insufficient for a family of four to sit comfortably in a well lit space (not on wooden dining chairs) and enjoy the view of the trees at least, which made it problematic since it rained a lot and we were stuck inside.

Great spot by the lake at the right price

Joe was a great host that was very good at communicating. The 1st floor of the house is redone and the location to beach and pool made this a great stay. For the price, you can’t beat it. I’m recommending it to others!

A clean and comfortable pocono mountain house to vacation in. It is set up for adults and children. Lots of fun things to do within a 5 minute walk To the beach or 10 minute ride to rent canoes & kayaks.

Great Lake house

The house was large and well stocked. We cooked through our stay and there were plenty of pots, pans, toaster oven, grill etc. The Arrowhead lake community is very family friendly with 4 beaches and 3 pools, kayaking and tennis. The location is close to many Pocono activities and we went white water rafting and on an ATV tour.

Lake house

The house was huge and in a great location. The resort is fantastic for children and families (playgrounds, beaches, pools). Joe was super helpful and we had a great time.

Our Property is in the award winning Arrowhead Lake PA Community. This community is a private gated community with 4 lake beaches and 3 Pools for summer time enjoyment. Plus many other amenities. Arrowhead requires each quest will be registered prior to arrival which owner will initiate. Their charge is $8 per day per adults from Memorial Day through Labor day plus small fee for each vehicle. These fees are over and above days rates charged by home owner.
