Una antigua casa de campo con terraza de piedra, con todo el carácter que cabría esperar de una propiedad histórica construida en 1759. Este encantador lugar tiene fantásticas vistas desde el salón y las habitaciones delanteras, ya que se encuentra en el corazón de la campiña de West Yorkshire y Hamlet of Oldfield. Con 2 estufas de leña, paredes de piedra, vigas a la vista y un ambiente relajante, esta casa no solo es tranquila sino que también está cerca de paseos, cafés, pubs y restaurantes, y también es una popular zona de ciclismo. La cabaña tiene una plataforma elevada exterior con bancos, con el campo literalmente en la puerta y un pequeño parque a 100 metros. También hay un edificio anexo que se puede utilizar como una tienda de bicicletas. Si solo quieres relajarte, esta es una propiedad fantástica para revitalizar tu alma.

Perfect weekend

Thanks Dave and Gail, lovely stay in your delightful property. Its turning into a second home for our annual Uni reunion and was great to experience the area in early Summer rather than late autumn. Perfectly equipped and furnished in a great location with great views and friendly neighbours. Congrats too on becoming grandparents, Colin.

Brief stay

We only stayed in the cottage for 2 nights but greatly enjoyed it. Lovely cottage, fantastic views, all the facilities you would expect, everything clean and in working order.

Lovely cottage in beautiful countryside

The cottage was just as described: clean, well equipped and plenty of character. The large lounge was very comfortable and had wonderful views. It was a great cottage to return to after days out, and Holmfirth had plenty to explore. Overall a lovely stay

This is a great cottage. I was visiting my mother close by so my kids and I were based here. It was clean and comfortable. Views are gorgeous.

It was a lovely space for our little family Christmas celebrations. Quiet, tidy and very nicely decorated with clear instructions on how to use all the facilities at the property.However even with the extra directions sent by the owners,the cottage was still very difficult to locate.

We planned to do the trans-pennine ale trail backwards (Huddersfield to Stalybridge) but the cottage and surrounding area was that beautiful and peaceful we decided to go the local farm shop and bought some local produce and cooked some delicious food and stayed in for the duration of our stay it was the best decision absolutely loved it we can not wait to return

Loved our stay in Holmfirth with family members. Great to catch up and have fun together after so long. The views are amazing! Beautiful cottage. Stairs very steep and low ceilings which are typical of the era. Be careful if you’re a bit older though. Recommended.

Well equipped cottage with lovely views.

Had a really nice short break here. Of all the cottages I've ever stayed in this was the best equipped one and had the biggest selection of stuff you need in a cottage when you get there. Often you get a bare minimum of anything, but here there was plenty of everything you needed. Even the TV was great, usually you get some cheap smallish TV with minimal freeview channels, but here it was a big one with Netflix and Amazon. Internet speed was also more than acceptable. I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV and surf the internet, but it's great it being there and to me is a perfect combination of modern living in a lovely old cottage. Cottage itself was very nice, on 3 floors with the bedrooms all being on the top floor, living room and bathroom on middle floor and kitchen and dining room on bottom floor. Bathroom and kitchen very modern. And the views from the front of the house were lovely over the hills and fields. Was there during the hottest week of the year and whilst I appreciate that this may not be an usual situation in the UK, the thick stone walls kept it relatively cool. There were also plenty of new radiators in the place as well so I'm sure it will be nice and warm during normal UK weather if needed. Lots of nice walks nearby starting at the cottage. Honley is nearby and a nice little town with some great places to eat (try the Tapas place). We went with our dog and I suppose the only slight downside is that there is no outside space with the cottage for the dog to be let loose in and only a front door. But we knew that beforehand and it wasn't an issue, the neighbours all seemed very friendly and there's only ever going to be one car driving in front of the house, so it's safe for dogs/kids out the front. There seemed to be a mixture of locals and holiday lets in the small settlement where the cottage is. You park on the road about 200 yards from the cottage, but again that is not an issue as it isn't far, there are several cars there doing the same and there's plenty of space to park on the road. The parking spaces near the cottages seemed to be reserved, rightly so, for the locals. But you can drive to the cottage to load and unload. So really enjoyed my stay, well worth booking if you are thinking of staying in this area.

Thanks for the nice comments. As owners who also stay in holiday cottages , we want a place for others to enjoy , without worrying about all the mundane items that so often are missing in rental properties. I'm glad you appreciated our efforts.

We bought this property as our quest to buy a bigger house near our current home in the Peak District had fallen flat. With our search extended, we happened upon this cottage and instantly got that feeling. It is our peaceful retreat and we love it!
