Million Dollar View

As advertised, this is a beautiful home in a quiet country setting. It is near the three highlights of Orcas Island; Moran State Park, Eastsound, and Rosario Resort. And the view, if you do nothing else other than sit and stare out the huge windows it would be a great stay.

Lovely house with spectacular views!

The house was really nice, clean, well stocked, and quiet, the location is perfect, and the view is mind bogglingly amazing. Highly recommend staying here! But a heads up so you don’t find out the hard way -the wood burning stove isn’t actually allowed to be used.

The view was excellent, and the place was great. Well, it has an appointed kitchen and plants of dishes, etc. It didn't earn five stars because it needs new linens and towels. The beds were not so good.

Beautiful views and an easy drive to Moran or Eastsound

We were in Orcas Island for the weekend for a race at Moran State Park. The home was perfect for our needs (3 couples). Great views over the west side of Orcas Island and beyond. Easy drive into Eastsound for groceries and dinner. Kitchen was well-stocked. Good communication from the management company for getting access to the property on arrival. Very good chance we'll be back next year!

Nestled in highlands with East Sound views and sunsets

A lovely, comfortable spacious house with most fantastic views of East Sound and the islands beyond to the west. Easy drive to the town of Eastsound, Moran State Park, Buck Bay (Olga) for fresh seafood, and Doe Bay. Uncluttered spotless space and well equipped for cooking. Great deck. Quite private. Upon departure, two deer came to bid goodbye.

Amazing views on Orcas Island

That view! The huge deck wraps around the house, so plenty of tree top views over the San Juans abound. Plus there’s a wall of windows facing the water/islands so you’ll enjoy the scenery from inside as well. The kitchen is nicely updated and well stocked, and beds/living area were quite comfortable. The host was very prompt with responding & assisting us in fixing an issue with the remotes to the ceiling fans (turns out there was no issue, they were just switched). Our only complaint was with the flooring which really should be refinished (hardwood—dirty & damaged in kitchen) and replaced (stains around upstairs toilet, carpet stains on stairs). I made these recommendations to the management co., so hopefully upgrades will be made soon. If you look past the flooring (and the views help keep you distracted) this place was fantastic. We would still definitely come back.

Amazing view but…

This property has a stunning view- maybe worth some of the other frustrations. Maybe. It’s an older home and parts have been carefully cared for or updated but other areas have been sadly neglected. Also, we found the outlets in both bathrooms didn’t work meaning no way to dry and groom hair in front of a mirror. We called Vacasa, they said they would get back to us, but never did. A carbon monoxide alarm went off in the middle of one night. We located it and decided it was due to needing new batteries- we hoped. We slept with windows open and got little sleep. Changing batteries routinely seems like something a management company should be doing to prevent guests from having this experience. There were other minor problems with the property but not big enough to alter our experience. Sadly we have to say our experiences with Vacasa managing VRBO properties has been not good.

Spectacular views!

I was enchanted from the very first moment I drove up. The quiet, the privacy and the exquisite sunsets were icing on the cake! The house has a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of everything we needed for an amazing stay. I already reserved for next year and we’re looking forward to another peaceful and magical experience.

Love this house

This is our second time staying here. The view is gorgeous, and we spent so much time on the deck. The location is also great - quick drive to Moran State Park, Rosario, or Eastsound.

Beautiful!

The property was wonderful and we loved eating out on the deck! It took 24 hours for the house to warm up to 72 from 65. Not a big deal, but we weren't able to get in touch with a property manager. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal, and we really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it!

Great View

We stayed 2 nights in August, 2020. This is a comfortable home with high ceilings and many wood accents. The kitchen is well equipped and the furniture is comfortable. The home was very clean. The views over Eastsound to the west and north are spectacular! My complaints are really more like suggestions: The tv really should be connected to a satellite system. Having to link my Prime account was kind of a hassle and it really is limiting. We don't spend a lot of time with tv while on vacation, but it's nice to have. Yes, I know it's an expense for the owner. But, it's a relatively cheap amenity and it's tax deductible. I also would have liked a king size bed in the house. Especially for the loft which is where you will want to be. All in all, this is a fine getaway in a great, central location. We would stay here again for sure. *Note: this form requires me to rate my communication with the property manager. I don't recall having any personal communication with anyone, so I gave it 3 stars. Unfair perhaps?

Beautiful quiet property with an amazing view

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway from the big city and we found it! This property is high up on the hillside, far from the main road below so we never heard any cars--just the wind and the birds. We saw eagles, hawks, rabbits and deer. The cabin was clean and spacious with everything we needed. The location is just a 5 minute drive from the state park with plenty of fun outdoor activities (we rented kayaks and paddled around Cascade Lake), and a 10 minute drive from the town with anything you might need (groceries, restaurants, etc). We hope to return someday soon!
