The bed and pillows were nice. The view was beautiful.Unit was Very outdated. The furniture was so uncomfortable that we used our beach chairs to sit in living room and the kitchen so old with original molded refrigerator (picture included).The bedroom carpet is old and dirty with exposed carpet nails/tacks so I put down a towel to avoid cutting my foot

Beautiful view. Room was clean. They had beach stuff available, chairs, floats, fishing pole. Washer and dryer are not in unit. A few minor things wrong. Musty smell, rust on refrigerator, kitchen sink dripped, just had to put knob in middle and it was ok, but we didn't mind it. Worth the price. We were off season. So the elevators were fine. I'd check if all 4 elevators worked before I'd rebook in season. If you're not picky, it's a wonderful place to stay.

You get what you pay for

I was upset because I was told my unit was available for early check-in and even called on my way down and was told the same thing, but they hadn’t heard an update from house keeping yet. Imagine my surprise when I get to the resort a little early and was informed that my unit would not be available until check-in. I was told by the rep I spoke with at that time that I was never told by another rep that my unit would be available for early check-in. I didn’t appreciate this. I’m not a liar and I didn’t make that piece up.The place itself was nice but there was black stuff (mold ?) around the vents in the living room. The outside of the fridge was a little rusty, the carpet in the bedroom was dingy. The color was messed up on the tv in the bedroom. Every channel had a green and purple outline.All in all, the condo matched the cheaper price I paid. If you are looking for a cheap, beachfront property in Destin, that is centrally located this unit would be a great option.

Everything about this place was amazing. There was a few times waiting the the elevator took awhile but it’s to be expected with how big the resort is. My family really enjoyed it.

Note this review is about the condo, not pelican resort, as they did great. Complete lumps, no way to sit on the couch. The bed was bouncy, no support, lumpy. There were no extra blankets in the condo. The balcony chairs were cheap plastic, couldn't sit in them. Even if you sat outside the pot smell filled the air. The table was completely rusted on the balcony. One toilet kept running. The other toilet's seat was about to fall off. The carpet in the bedroom felt crunchy and disgusting. We didn't go barefoot in there. There was a sharp carpet tack under the carpet to the bathroom. The dining room table's glass top wasn't attached to the legs. The chairs felt like they would break when we got up from the table.

Needs some love and attention!

Over all, the unit met our needs. However, this rental as a whole needs some attention. For example, we had 4 forks to use, so we had to wash dishes after every meal. Not a huge deal, just inconvenient. The couch and bunk bed mattresses have outlived their use and need replaced. The master bath has more water pressure in the sink than in the shower, and the toilet seat barely fits a toddler. The shared bathroom has much better water pressure, however there is black mold in the shower and on the ceiling. The toilet is more comfortable yet it has been resealed so many times it sits crooked. The condo was cleaned to a respectable standard and the owner provides a substantial starter set of cleaning items for dishes and laundry. (Our shared washer for the 20th floor was broke during our stay.) This is a wonderful resort and we will return I'm sure. But, unfortunately, we will not stay in this unit again. We were not unhappy with our stay, just...not impressed

What A View

Property is on the top floor & the view is incredible! The unit needs updating, refurnishing, & restocking. The paint color is terrible for a beach house, the furniture would look good in a museum. However, the bed was comfortable but old Overall, the location makes this a great place to stay.

Pelican Beach Resort- Condo 2007

We came back to Destin for Fall Break for 4 days. We always come twice a year. We have stayed in the Pelican many of those trips. We were in the 20th floor and condo 2007. Our room was clean, spacious, and stocked. It had a beautiful view. Furniture is outdated but nothing that was a hindrance or necessity to our stay. The washing machine on the 20th was not working, but we were able to use one on another floor. One of the elevators was out for maintenance as well, so it did make wait times to go up and down a little longer. The beach was well kept and clean. We only were able to utilize the front pool and bigger hot tub one day, and then the remaining days it was drained and hated not being able to use this as it was my children’s favorite. This also made the other pool area so much more crowded. The Pelican Cafe and Tiki Hut was wonderful as I remembered it. All the food from the cafe is very good and the best pizzas. Overall we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay.

Loved it!

Stayed in condo 2007 for a whole week and it was great! The view from the 20th floor is amazing. When we arrived everything was clean and check in was a breeze. Maintenance/ management was very effective, they accommodated un with a pack and play and Maintenance refunded us for the washer/dryer that we tried to use but was not functioning properly. Communication in general was fast. Only thing that could use an upgrade is the couch/sofa chair, both where a bit uncomfortable 😬 and looked old. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need appliances/tool wise. We would definitely book again for this condo.

Lots of issue’s initially

There were no batteries in tv remote, only one chair on the balcony, the codes wouldn't work to get in the unit initially then again repeatedly, the unit also had no broom or dust pan to be able to sweep up sand off the floors and there was very little in way of things to cook with and use in the kitchen like a drink pitcher, a cookie sheet or filters for the coffee maker, we had to unexpectedly run back out to the store to buy filters for the coffee maker as we of course had no idea we would be needing them until we went to make coffee in the morning. There was mold in the guest shower at the top, dirt and an artificial nail that had come off someone’s finger behind the couch in the living room which was rather gross. The bunks could definitely use better and more comfortable mattresses too, they were very thin and hard. Vacasa did show up and fixed the code issues with the door and also brought batteries for the remote, a broom and dust pan and two more chairs for the balcony when asked which was helpful.

Needs Updated ASAP

This is our 3rd time staying at Pelican Resort and this is by far the worst one we have ever stayed at. The entire place needs a major upgrade…..mold by AC vent, all furniture was old and very uncomfortable…..the stools you can’t trust to sit on because they wobble badly….beds were like sleeping on springs, fridge was rusted on the side, hardly any towels and bedding was provided, literally the worst VRBO we have ever stayed in. It’s so outdated that they have a stereo that has a cassette player…..everything is about that age.

Most of our issues were not the fault of the home itself. They definitely need a better cleaning service. Overall it was a good property, definitely could use some updated televisions.

Keep Looking

Keep looking! The mattresses all need replaced; the springs can be felt while sitting on the couch; some outlets don’t work; the tv didn’t work in the bedroom; the microwave didn’t have a turn table; the bunk beds weren’t made when we arrived. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere!

The views and location are AMAZING, service at the resort was also great. Room is a little dated, but everything else made up for it. Could sit on the patio all day long.

We stayed two months and the views were spectacular on occasion we’d see a couple of dolphin swim by and the last day they wanted to say goodbye and several swim by
