Hands down the best place we've stayed. This is a beautiful cottage that welcomes you the second you pull into the driveway. The hosts have thought of everything, and then some, from the super comfy beds to the thoughtful decor to the extra little touches like a coffee/tea bar just begging to make you a cup. The place was spotless and smelled lovely when we arrived. The hosts also laid out some lovely snowflake-themed tableware as well as a small Christmas tree to make it seem festive but not overdone. Looking for white squirrels? We saw two and enjoyed their antics at the feeding station while we had breakfast and lunch in the dining room. And the electric fireplace is a marvel. We are terrible with making fires so we were excited to see we only had to push a button. The fire made the living room seem so cozy and inviting, as did the plush sofas: just perfect after a day of Christmas shopping in town. We also loved the shower and marveled at the skill of whoever put in the tile. Towels were plentiful and soft. Hand soap? In the kitchen and the bathroom. Extra toiletries? Yup. Bottled water in the fridge? You bet. Thoughtful welcome gift in a festive gift bag? Yes! Wildlife and farm life to watch from the porch or window? Of course! We can't wait to return and get another 10 hours of sleep each night in that king-sized bed. Thank you to the best hosts! Book this - you'll be glad you did.

Very clean, beautiful property, very well maintained with attention to detail and equipped with all one can ask for, in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed watching the birds and the squirrels, both white and grey, descend from the oak tree. Highly recommended, especially during the fall.

Rick and Denise are a lovely couple. They even gave me gluten free muffins and brownies, a colorful plant along with birthday wishes for my birthday. Very clean, beautifully decorated and the weather was perfect. They're available at a moments notice for any questions. A perfect stay in the mountains!

It was so great we came back for a second time! We've stayed at 15-20 VRBO's in the last 5 years and this one was the only one we loved enough to come back for a second time. Every thing is perfect: the house is beautifully decorated, well-stocked, and immaculately clean. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The yard is beautifully maintained, the neighborhood is peaceful, and the location is convenient to downtown. Really, just great all around!

Wonderful Cottage

Nice cottage

The owner thoughtfully left me two blueberry muffins, which I greatly appreciated after a long drive. There is some charming woodworking at the cottage, including a small wildlife station outside the dining room window where we frequently saw white squirrels and woodpeckers. The cottage is well-laid out and the kitchen has everything you might need, including a coffee/ tea station. Very clean, with comfortable beds. Overall, a very restful stay over Thanksgiving.

Hurricane Vacation

Lucky us - we booked our stay months ago & it turned out that Hurricane Helene decided to visit at the same time. The house was beautiful, but we lost power for 3 days. The owners were wonderful. They gave us water, flashlights, a sound machine, and a generator to charge our phones. We had a great time regardless of the hurricane. Highly recommended! machine for sleeping

Great Place!

Me and my family loved staying at this property, it was close to downtown and the house was very cozy and clean. Beautiful scenery and it had everything we needed for a nice long weekend. The blueberry muffins that were provided was a great touch and much appreciated! I wish it had been more private as the construction next door was a bit bothersome, but overall it was a great location.

Our Stay in White Oak Cabin

Overall it was a great cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable. The only thing that would make it even better, like all other cabins we've stay in, is to also provide typical condiments, such as mustard, catsup, mayo, cooking oil or spray and olive oil & vinegar. The only problems we encountered, were the WiFi user name was different than the one listed in the Home rules book and VRBO, and the recommended restaurant info in the book was real old, like from 2018 or 19.

Great 2nd stay at White Squirrel Cottage

This is the 2nd year that we have stayed at the cottage. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well organized. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and enjoying the breeze. Denise and Rick are great people and would help with any concern....we had NO concerns as everything is great. It is only a very short drive from town.

Fall Getaway

We’ve been coming to this area for years. This is the perfect cottage just on the edge of town. Five minutes to downtown Brevard and all the great shops. And a short distance to Pisgah and DuPont forests. The cottage is so very well kept and clean. Spacious and cozy at the same time. The owners have put lots of thought and heart into all the renovations. It’s the perfect home away from home. We hope to return again and again!

Exceptional

I think that this was the cleanest place I've ever been, that didn't perform surgeries. I actually challenged myself to find something dirty, and I couldn't. Not in a corner, under a bed, on a window sill, anywhere. The house was very well stocked, and decorated nicely. The furniture is clean and comfortable. We didn't have any issues and the owners were very helpful and friendly. I like to stay at rentals that are managed by the owners because I find they usually go the extra mile, and don't skimp on things like dishwasher soap and toilet paper. Richard and Denise went well past the extra mile. As I said earlier, the house was very well stocked with not only the necessities, but quite a few extras. We will likely stay here again.

Beautiful spot in the mountains!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Denise had everything we need and the muffins were delicious. The house was so clean and tidy, this was by far the best rental we have stayed at. We were visiting Brevard for the first time for our friends’ wedding weekend with family and friends. We had a really great time, thank you for making our stay so effortless!

Beautiful and clean!

This home is beautiful and so clean! It is stocked with everything you need plus extras like fresh blueberry muffins and a basket of packaged snacks. The hosts are so kind and helpful. The area is fun with lots of outdoor activities available and Downtown Brevard has a nice downtown area for shopping and dining. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again!
