Cottage on Main Street - Brevard, NC

This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Enjoy walking to all that downtown Brevard has to offer (yoga, hiking, biking, coffee shops, bakeries, movie theater and so much more). Uniquely located in a serene setting but allows for full enjoyment of nature, music, arts, and a delicious foodie experience.

Built in the 1920's, this comfy cottage was recently totally renovated and has all we expect in 2023.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cottage, its front yard and patio. There is room for two cars in front.
Other things to note
The Cottage is in close proximity to the best Brevard has to offer:

Brevard downtown shops / restaurants / galleries / eateries: .3 miles - 6 minutes walkng

Brevard College / Porter Center: .5 miles - 12 minutes walking

Brevard Music Center / Bracken Preserve (hiking): 1.1 miles - 24 min walk or 4 minutes by car.

Brevard Lumber Yard Arts Disctrict (185 King Street -music, art galleries, eateries): .4 miles - 7 minutes walking

200 yards to the Brevard Rails to Trails (Ecusta Trail)

Pisgah Forest: 3.7 miles to closest entrance - 7 min by car

We ask all guests to not store bikes of any kind inside the cottage.

The Cottage is really not as child-friendly as would be preferred. This may not be the best place for children 0-16.

Please do not open windows when screens are not present.

Please keep exterior door of cottage closed so that temperature in The Cottage maintains a comfortable temperature and critters don't come inside.

Absolutley NO SMOKING or VAPING (of any thype) while in The Cottage or on the property, thank you.

There is space for two cars in front of cottage. Additional parking is available on Main Street. Parking is not allowed on Oaklawn by city.

The Cottage is really not as child-friendly as would be preferred. This may not be the best place for children 0-16.

Great choice for a couple traveling. Location can't be beat; walkable to downtown and to the Lumberyard District. Hosts were very responsive. Highly recommend!

Kid free getaway

This was a great location, perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. We had a small hiccup with a broken heating system, but the hosts were amazing and got us sorted out in record time. Great hosts and great location!

Absolutely perfect location if you're thinking about traveling to Brevard. It is literally across the street from Brevard Yoga Studio and right next door to two fantastic restaurants. Downtown is minutes away on foot and the library is there as well. Brevard is full of businesses of all sorts. The two beds are extremely comfortable, with the bathroom being in between them, and the kitchen is fully functional, the washer and dryer were very nice to have. The AC works great and a dehumidifier is included. The Pisgah Forest is close by and this location is walking distance to three breweries, many with food and entertainment. The hosts are incredibly caring and diligent, we couldn't have hoped for better.

Little Gem on Main

We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage on Main (actually just off of Main St.) Small and quaint two bedroom, one bath. Fully furnished. Perfect for a couple get away. Within walking distance of everything downtown. We also walked to the Brevard campus to visit our daughter. So quite perfect for what we needed. We will definitely go back!

Perfect little cottage

This was so perfect for myself and children. The location was right off of Main street and near the music center. It had everything we needed for a very relaxed stay. The owners have provided so many things that made our stay easy and enjoyable.

Very clean and and the owners are really nice! You can walk to anywhere in downtown from the house and not have to worry about parking.

Good for two

Two bedrooms, but only space for two to sit in the livingroom. Bedrooms are very small, and beds are up against the walls. We would recommend this cottage for two people, but not for more. Be aware that there is no hair dryer provided.

Great location

This small house was in a great location for walking around downtown Brevard. House was clean and we appreciated full kitchen and the washer and dryer. Listing was "glitchy" from the beginning with emails from VRBO saying second 1/2 of payment was due well before the due date. Also the check in email sent out right before check in did not include door code details. We tried to reach out to owner on day of arrival but got no reply. Luckily owner happened to see us when we got there and was able to help us get in. She said was not getting the messages from me via VRBO for some reason. She was nice enough to give us her cell number in case we had further issues. Very disappointed to see that the A/C was programmed by owner with only limited changes allowed. It was set on 74 (which to us is too warm) and we could only lower it to 70, which only would hold for 2 hours before going back to 74. This made for hot nights, since I am a very warm sleeper. I feel like it should be advertised in the listing if there are restrictions on the thermostat.
