Lovely, super clean, and inviting lake home that was a delight for me and my family’s stay.The level walk to the dock was much appreciated for my elderly mother, & the property across the road to park vehicles & our pontoon was very convenient. Loved being able to access two additional lakes, as well! The space felt large with all the sleeping accommodations and two bathrooms—what a bonus! We’d love to stay here again.

This was our second stay. Communication with owner was great. Nice place, beautiful view, nice lake with access to a chain of lakes. We used this for overflow sleeping, to meet family at another cabin on the lake. So, again, we didn’t get to enjoy all this cabin had to offer as we spent most time with family at the other cabin. Plenty of space and had the basics to enjoy a fun stay up north!

The house and location were excellent. Just a few little quirks with some of the amenities: no exhaust fans in the bathrooms or vent hood over the stove. Would have liked some sort of window coverings on the front/side windows. Otherwise a great stay. Hosts were excellent to communicate with.

Relaxing Lakeside Retreat

This lake home was perfect for our crew. It was quiet and relaxing. We fished off the dock, sat by the fire pit in the evening and the house was the perfect size for our group of 7 to have the space we needed.

Great place

We stayed here for a family fishing trip. It is a very nice cabin, has everything you need, and plenty of space for everyone. Plenty of space for parking boat and trailer, too, which was great and is sometimes an issue. Fishing was good, too. We had a great week. I highly recommend.

Up North Getaway

Wonderful accomodations with great lake view. This was our third stay at the lakehome and we hope to be back. Home is exceptionally clean and kitchen is well stocked. Nice outdoor accomodations with fire pit to enjoy the evenings. Well set up for families. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful setting!

We stay in VRBO homes often both domestically and internationally and have not encountered hosts as generous as Lisa and Don Newhouse! Every need or want was thought of in advance for us and our dogs. The home was fully stocked with all essential needs from paper products to kitchen items. The lake was gorgeous with sand bars, sandy points for swimming as well as underwater islands for good fishing. We also enjoyed the canals to get to the other lakes-they seemed great for paddling. Lisa’s dad even walked over to share his favorite fishing spot with us. Could not find nicer or more generous people anywhere. I’d recommend renting this cabin just for the opportunity to meet such nice people!

Great place!

We gather extended family at another cabin on this lake and rented this cabin to accommodate our family as overflow for sleeping. We wish we could’ve spent more time at this cabin as it was very nice! Enjoyed our morning coffee on the dock. Clean, roomy, updated and well appointed, it had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. A/C was a definite plus for the hot week that we had! Close to road, but didn’t affect our stay. If you have young children, you’d need to be extra vigilant, but being on a lake you must be anyway. Ample parking across road for boat trailers, etc., and boat access landing right down the road at neighboring resort (for fee). The owner was available and very easy to work with. The lake is nice with easy access to other lakes in the chain and close to towns with walking/biking trails & shopping. Reasonable rates for the area. A great find!

Great Week

Check-in info was sent in advance and was easy to remember. Be careful of the drive to the garage if your vehicle has low clearance. It was nice to be able to park the truck and trailer across the street. The house was very clean. There were a few notes to help us out, including one identifying a bin of older sheets (to protect furniture from any pets) and towels (for cleanup). The layout was great with 2 beds downstairs for the parents and 2 little. Also laundry room and a toilet and shower. Upstairs were 2 bedrooms for the grandma and teen. Kitchen had everything we needed. Living room and dining room spacious.Great patio, charcoal grill, fire pit, dock. Note in the description that the swimming is off the end of the dock. The kids had fun jumping in. We also had good fishing from the dock. We were able to pull our pontoon up to it easily. We put in at the resort just across from the house. Lots of games and puzzles and good Wi-Fi. If you choose to do the puzzle with 2 kittens, beware it is harder than it looks. Communication was very good. We would stay here again!

3rd Crow Wing Cabin

We enjoyed our stay even though the weather didn't cooperate! Cabin was well stocked, very clean & had great outdoor spaces. Lisa & Don were great hosts & so helpful. Definitely recommend this rental! Close to Nevis, Park Rapids & numerous OHV trails too. Great parking area for numerous trailers across the road. Lots of fish caught off the dock too.

Myself and My husband Don live in Bemidji, MN and are managing this property for my mother-in-law Bonita Newhouse, who lives nearby just east of Menahga, MN. This home was built by my husbands grandfather and grandmother Willard and Ranolda Stonelake in 1959-60. they lived in the house and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, birdwatching, etc. The property also includes two additional rustic cabins that are rented seasonally to return visitors. This property has lots of family history and has been an important part of my husbands life as he typically spent every summer of his childhood staying with his grandparents in this house, fishing from the dock and exploring the lakes and woods in the area. In the winter months some of the best fishing on the lake has always been a short walk from the house out onto the lake in front of the cabin where numerous walleye and large northern pike, and crappies can be caught through the ice.

Property offers excellent access to lake with gradual slope and shoreline just a few steps away from house. Mature White Pine and Norway Trees offer beautiful scenery and ample amounts of shade and cover. Large five acre lot across from house provides plenty of open space for outdoor activities and wildlife viewing opportunities.

House remodeled in 2019 with new flooring and interior doors, ceiling fans, light fixtures, 55" Smart TV, Internet and Wifi upgraded as well. An additional remodel was completed in 2021 which includes a bathroom in the basement.

Property has been a favorite of past customers who returned year after year to enjoy the house and lake.

Property located on very desirable chain of lakes with good elevation and easy access to lake. Persons staying on property have access to first second, third and fourth Crow Wing lakes each of which offers unique angling opportunities for Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappies, Sunfish and Bass. Third Crow Wing lake also offers excellent swimming and watersports opportunities. Property priced far below what one would typically pay for vacation homes operated by resort owners on same lake.
