Thank you for taking time to write a review. As you know, reviews are an important factor when making travel decisions. I am certain that the review rate (4.97/5) on my property, along with the many comments that recognize my responsiveness as a host, were factors in your decision to book with me. Your 1 star review is in stark contrast with all of the previous reviews, so I am sure that this might cause confusion for future travellers. My goal is to provide some clarity here in my response. Unfortunately, your “girl’s weekend” was actually a “bachelorette party”. I am clear in my listing that I do not allow events therefore had I known this, I would not have allowed you to book. Also unfortunate was that by 8pm, I had already received several complaints about excessive noise, crude language, and inappropriate behaviour happening on my ocean facing deck (which was on full display to all of the families as they came back to their own vacation condos from the ocean, pool or dock). I felt it was prudent for me to drive to the Resort to evaluate the situation and to speak to you in person. I am disappointed that you would perceive this as “changing the rules” when in fact it was “reminding you of the rules”. Regarding the refrigerator, as you are aware and as our text history shows, within 1 hour of your message alerting me that the main refrigerator was no longer cooling, I had someone come to troubleshoot the issue, and at the same time I reminded you that you should put your “must be refrigerated” food into the secondary fridge located in the downstairs bedroom. This, together with the fact that you were only staying at the condo for 2 nights in total - one of which was already completed - makes it difficult to understand how you “lost a lot of money in food”. You seem to have forgotten that you also had use of the wine fridge and that within 2 hours of your initial text I had a cooler with ice delivered to your door, despite your assurance that this was not necessary. Regarding your lack of transportation, I always recommend that guests bring a car to the resort as it is fairly remote. Relying on limousine service, as your party did, would not have been a recommendation that I would have given. Finally, you leave out of the review that you texted me on your check out morning asking for a late check out as your limousine was not actually scheduled to pick you up until 12:45 (checkout is 11am). You may recall that I swiftly moved my cleaner’s schedule around to accommodate this request at NO COST to you. I hope the next time you decide to have such an event that you are able to find a more suitable venue.
