Beach trip 2025

This is our 3rd or 4th year staying at Splash Resort and each time we’ve stayed at a different condo. This year we were pleased with the layout and decor. Beds were comfy and chairs on the back patio were nice. The views are great looking directly over the ocean. One big thing I love about Splash is that the elevators do not have long wait times. The kids area, lazy river, hot tub and pools are all great and convenient location. The walk to the beach from the elevators is short which is another big convenience. We will continue to vacation at splash resort any time we go to pcb!!!!

The location is fantastic. The swimming pools and splash pad were amazing. This is our second time at the resort and the elevators were working much better than last time. The condo could use a little updating with appliances and the sofa bed. Overall we had a fantastic trip and were able to cook, swim and enjoy the beach. We definitely would visit again.

Nice vacation

The view was great. The condo complex was nice and easy access to the beach and pools. The unit itself was okay. It did need some repairs and upkeep but other than that there was plenty of space and was okay for the price.

Amazing stay

I absolutely loved this condo. I have no complaints at all we stayed for 5 nights, the beds were so soft and comfortable. We pretty much had everything we needed in kitchen. We really had no issues it kinda sucked not having a door stopper but we made do. The only thing I would complaint about is the elevators it took forever to get one which has nothing to do with condo!

Not fancy, the furniture is a bit dated. We had to buy a fan because ceiling fan in master bedroom did not work and it gets hot. I called to report it but they just took the information and did nothing. The mattresses are way too soft, no support. Smoke detector started beeping so they need batteries. It was clean and a nice facility..

Needs serious improvements

Let me start by saying I don't normally leave reviews, however I feel like if families are going to be staying in this condo there are certain things they should know. First off, the cleaning is a joke. There was a whole tortilla left under the master bed. A dirty sock under the nightstand. 2 shirts, a pair of shorts and a pair of socks were left in one of the drawers. The furniture is terrible. 1 of the 4 chairs at the table was completely broken and unable to be sat on, another had the back broken and another had some kind of dye on it. So that left 1 usable chair. The showers were covered in mold. The shower heads, drains and the rolling doors, so much so that I bought Lysol and tried to clean them myself just so we could use them. The cabinet door on the TV stand was completely off the unit. There were #11 remotes for 3 TV's & 4 of those didn't have batteries, none of the remotes were labeled so it was a guessing game. The dressers were so damaged you couldn't even get the drawers open. The fans in both bedrooms had dust caked on the blades. Several light bulbs were out through out the whole condo. The light switches were also a guessing game because half the time they didn't work. The remotes that were on the wall that was supposed to go to the lights and the fans, either didn't work or were missing. The glass on one of the tables on the balcony was missing. The vacuum cleaner that was in the room was disgusting and hardly worked. The water & ice dispenser was covered in mold! It was so nasty that we purchased ice and water to keep from having to use it. There was mold in the laundry hamper. And the soap dispenser was rusted over. However, we thought on top of all of that at least one of the perks was that the room included the beach chairs. But this was also a disappointment. Last year the chairs were wooden with thick padding on top. This year they're plastic chairs with a very thin lining. And since they took the chairs up at 5pm everyday you literally had nowhere to sit. Where as last year they would take up the pads off the chairs but the wooden part stayed on the beach. Also this year when they set the chairs out they were put so close together you could barely walk in between them and therefore would have to walk all the way to the end of the isle to go around. One other complaint with the chairs is that they wouldn't allow tents to be set up in front of the condo's chairs however someone could set up as many umbrellas as they want in front of your chair. My husband had to be in line at 7am to get the chairs and then with a few hours someone had set up 5 umbrellas in front of our chairs and we had to go around their whole set up, which included their own chairs, beach mats, 5 umbrellas, coolers, floats, kid toys and etc. just to get to the water. So, we couldn't just set in our chairs and watch our 6yr old play in the edge of the water. I realize it's a public beach and there's only so much you can do but why ban the tents and not umbrellas too. And a RAMP, oh goodness a RAMP would be a great addition to this place. For a condo that advertises for families with children, it's the first one I've ever been to that doesn't have a ramp. If you're like us and use a wagon to take your things back and forth to the room.....you better bring some help because you have to pick it up to go up the 2 sets of stairs. I honestly don't know how this is even possible....how do handicapped people that stay at this condo able to get to the beach when there's no ramp?

Enjoyed our stay

We have stayed at splash on several occasions. We always enjoy our stay. We did have one minor issue with our condo this time. The couch in the living room had a very strong urine odor as if a child had wet the bed and it was never cleaned. We just avoided the couch. Otherwise, great!

Unfortunately this was not a great experience for my family. This condo specifically was just ok. Space and layout worked for most part. The master bed was comfortable...Liked all the shelves available for storage in the bathrooms. But it stops there. The rugs on the floor were so so dirty, covered in hair and so much sand on the floor from the moment we arrived. There were pistachio shells on the floor in the living room, a half eaten brownie (at least I hope that's what it was I too terrified to investigate more) in one of the wicker hampers they leave for you to use. Only one single dish towel available in the kitchen and not a single extra blanket to be found in the entire place. The beds only had a very thin comforter on it. You get chilly after a day at the beach and we had an aerobed for our toddler and had to use towels the first night until we had to go to Target to buy a comforter. And probably the worst part when you have little kids is that none of the remotes were easy to be found for any of TVs or Dvd player. When I finally found they all had no batteries in them. Regarding the resort itself, pretty much all the negative stuff you read on these review are true (listed below) but the one that really was out of left field was the entire check in process. We arrived at 450pm to check in (the email said available until 6pm and you can get your parking pass and wrist bands) and nobody was there. No sign, no phone #, nothing. The Vacasa desk was closed, the security desk closed, the gift store closed which they tell you to go to if it's after hours. There were about 6 other families like us wandering around clueless about how to get into our places, whether we were able to use the facilities because we couldn't get our arm bands, and if we were ok to park in the deck or would we get towed. It was really frustrating and confusing. Finding a cart to unload your car was a joke. We had to use our son's stroller to get things into the condo. Something that could have been one trip took 7 trips (ugh) In the morning I went down to try and "check in" again to get our wrist bands which said they opened at 9am. I was there until 915am before anybody showed up. There's no attention to these procedures and everybody was so confused about how the heck to get what you needed. Other items-- (1) The elevators are madness. Nothing worse than being hot with cranky kids and waiting with your hands full for 15+ minutes. (2) It's all pretty outdated and not well maintained. I kind of expected this based on knowing it's a kid focused place and it's not intended to be luxury. Still.. it was worse than I expected. Paint peeling, bugs in pools, bad smells, hoses broken to spray your feet after beach. (3) The "waterpark" area with the slides and bucket seem fun but if you have a child under 4 yo (we have 2 and 4yo) the sound of the giant bucket falling over is pretty terrifying and makes playing in that area unenjoyable for them. It's a shame because they liked the other little water squirting feature but that huge bucket literally dumps every 20 seconds and the entire place gets pounded with water. And you cannot hear anything it's so loud. They never turn this off, it's always going. Forget trying to have a conversation with your child or an adult near it. It's taken me several days to get the energy to write this review because there was so much wrong with the whole experience but I hope it helps somebody else make a decision for their vacation.

Escape to paradise!

Disappointing

The unit is not the best we have ever stayed in. Cleaning was not as good as I would expect anytime let alone during a pandemic. Trash such as empty water bottle and deodorant can behind a nightstand are pretty good clues. There is black mold in the main bathtub under the fixtures and the sliding door. Anytime my kids went out on the balcony barefooted their feet were black from dirt after no time. The part that disgusted me the most was when I looked for extra blankets in the closet, there was a bin that held some. I was expecting clean extra blankets but they were wadded up very clear they hadn’t been washed. I went to get them out thinking I would wash them myself and they smelled like vomit. I gave up and went and washed my hands instead. I felt like I needed to sanitize the place well before I felt comfortable. The other disappointing factor was that the pools were not heated. We went mid may and with evenings still hitting 60 degrees, the pools were ice cold even during the day. Like not even useable ice cold. There were a lot of people complaining about this while we were there with kids running around shivering, so it certainly wasn’t just our perception. I wasn’t that pleased with vacasa customer response as I called them the day after we arrived about some issues and they wouldn’t help me because I hadn’t purchased trip insurance. This condo resort is extremely crowded. If you have any hesitancies regarding social distancing, I would not recommend this place at all. I have two kids and was excited to go somewhere fun for the kids but this place was so crowded you can’t even enjoy it. The only perks I would say is the master bed is very comfortable and vacasa makes the check in and out procedures easy and convenient. However, that is not enough to persuade us again. Most disappointing trip to Florida I’ve ever had and we go a couple times a year.

Clean, tastefully decorated. Provided extras to enhance our experience. Would recommend this condo. Thoughtful extras that made our stay exceptional.. although we experienced noise from the unit above beyond acceptable levels, during the night and early-morning hours. Beachchair/umbrella personnel rude and unnecessarily authoritative- we simply needed information. Nice that chairs and umbrella provided with the unit. Overall very good experience! Thank you for attention to detail!
