This place was a gem with a 360 degrees panoramic view of mountains. I loved this place it was clean and spacious. Max was a wonderful host and was extremely easy to communicate with. It has a huge Hot tub which we enjoyed in night and day time. The best part for the grand Piano my husband loves to play piano, he was extremely excited, and we had our one of the best staycations. house had all the necessary amenities and equipment's. Max has amazing music collection, CD player, any music and nature lover must stay here, I highly recommend it.

relaxing coz stay

We had a wonderful stay at Max's place for the second time. The house is cozy and the setting is so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful- the views are especially amazing. Max is easy to contact, and responsive.

We had an awesome stay at Max's place. We went upstate for the perseid meteor showers and it was one of the best showers I have ever seen. It is so dark at night there that we saw over 70 meteors during our stay. I am also a bird watcher and saw my first eastern bluebird in the wild. We also saw goldfinches, catbirds, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, etc. There were deer and rabbits on the property every day and at night you could hear the bullfrogs croaking in the pond. It was exactly what we needed. The air and water there are so pure you feel the difference in your body. Hey Max, if you ever sell this place, let me know! I love it!

An Idyllic Mountain Retreat

This rental was amazing. The views were breathtaking every morning and evening. My host was gracious and the communication was excellent. The perks of a piano, record/CD collection, bbq grill and hot tub made our stay the best vacation ever. No one wanted to go home. We will be renting again.

Once wasn't enough!

This is our second time staying at Max's place - we were there last summer and just had to return. What an amazing location, with a beautiful 360 degree view of the mountains! We loved the hot tub, the wrap around deck and hammock, and the excellent piano. (Max also has an amazing music collection.) The master bedroom is so comfy, with a settee, huge TV complete with DVR, DVD player, everything you could want. Both bedrooms have excellent large beds with firm mattresses. We each had our own bathroom, and the shower is excellent. We picked wild raspberries every morning on the property and listened to the frogs in the pond singing at night. We had an even better time the second time around! It felt like our own special home away from home. Thanks to Max and Teresa for a great time.

Nice Location

Location is perfect if you want to be away from everything, and I mean everything including easily obtained groceries. Better to stop about 20 miles east or west of Margaretville. Authentic Italian trattoria in Margaretville on Main Street with outside tables, and excellent lunch fare from a train car in Arkville - both about 10 miles from the house. Hopefully you have clear skies to view the Milky Way as we did from the hot tub and double hammock on the raised deck. Nice area to walk and bike on quiet roads with some hills near the house.

Fabulous place

We had an amazing time at Max's place! The wraparound deck with a 360° view of the mountains was incredible, and we loved eating alfresco under the umbrella, lounging in the hammock, and sitting in the hot tub, where we did watch the stars on many a night! The house was cozy and comfortable, and the grand piano is excellent. Add the huge flat screen tv, and what more could you want from a summer rental? Max was an excellent communicator, and his housekeeper Teresa was lovely. The pictures really don't do it justice. There are so many delightful towns to explore, and plenty of restaurants nearby.My favorite thing was listening to the frogs in the pond at night.We can't wait to come back!

Weekend getaway

Overall the first impression was bay as expected. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. Rest of house needed much updating and tlc. You have to enter through the basement door and 1st impression is walking into a horror movie. When you advertise there is a large screen tv, maybe state that it is the only tv and is on a bedroom. There is not a tv or couch to relax and enjoy any downtime inform of the wood burning g stove if you wanted. So my overall impression on not very poor.

Peaceful place to stay

My husband and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving here! We took our dogs with us and they were very happy to run and play....At night we Stayed in the hot tub enjoying the peace and the beautiful stars ! Place is clean andwe had everything we need .We were very happy with our choice ！

Amazing trip

Me and my gal pals were looking for a nice place to have a small get away. It was prefect! Very rustic and so cute. It was perfect for us. The land owner was very hospitable and warm. Perfect place to get away for a while.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Max's property. The landscape and setting is beautiful and the house was equipped with all we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and wood stove. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Nice Trip

House was well stocked and easy to locate. Mostly for a quick getaway as there isn't much to do elsewhere in the area, but the view from the house was great.

Great little cabin

Overall, my group really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was well kept and and the owner was really responsive leading up to the trip. It’s pretty secluded so we had to drive a bit to get to hiking and we didn’t get service (although the WiFi worked great). Great find!

Spectacular view

The house was situated on a mountain top with great views all around. The deck was great for relaxing and the hot tub was a great experience after a day of exploring....would definitely recommend for those who want serenity. The host was very attentive at all times.

Absolutely perfect!

Really couldn’t have asked for a better arrangement - the house had everything we needed for a comfortable, restful, and inspirational (there’s a baby grand piano!!) week-plus of time away from the tight spaces of the city. I have an older dog that also really appreciated the ramp leading from grass to deck. Would definitely recommend and book again in future!

See the stars in the night sky! Beautiful setting, thoughtful host, comfortable home, bucolic bliss.

Fleeing NYC’s pandemic storm we landed at Max’s place and felt like we were in the magical Land of Oz. Beautiful green mountains and pastures surrounded us; we could see the stars, and then we saw a dramatic double rainbow. We visited nearby farm stands and farmer’s markets and ate delicious fresh food as we dined out on the deck where we were eternally entertained by the drama of nature. The house is comfortable and cool at night with fresh mountain breezes blowing through the windows. With the large collection of compact discs, I listened to music that was new to me and rediscovered many personal favorites that I hadn’t listened to in years. Max is a thoughtful host, informative and helpful and he always responded quickly to our questions and concerns. His housekeeper Teresa is kind and conscientious and offered to help if we needed anything but was never obtrusive. After a month, when our departure date arrived, we didn’t want to leave bucolic bliss behind and return to urban life. We left with wonderful memories of Max’s place and would definitely like to stay there again someday.

Lovely stay

A group of 5 of us enjoyed our stay in this cute area. Hiking trails, shops, restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the hot tub with a beautiful view!
