La villa DeiMori LaMassa está espectacularmente ubicada en una posición elevada prominente en un valle orientado al sur que brinda largas horas de sol y un microclima favorable.

Hay extensos terrenos arbolados privados que se alejan de la casa dando una verdadera sensación de privacidad y paz.

Todo el ambiente es de absoluta tranquilidad: estamos lejos de cualquier carretera principal y los únicos sonidos son el chapoteo del agua al caer de roca en roca, los pájaros y el canto veraniego de los grillos.

El alojamiento para invitados ocupa el último piso de la casa y tiene una entrada privada y terrazas amuebladas. El conjunto ha sido completamente renovado, decorado y amueblado con un alto nivel.

La sala de estar es cómoda con sofás y sillones individuales, una mesa y sillas de comedor de madera y muebles auxiliares.

El área de la cocina está terminada y equipada con un alto nivel por un diseñador y fabricante italiano exclusivo.

Los cuartos de baño cuentan con grandes cabinas de ducha de alta calidad con cabezales de ducha de alta presión, lavabos e inodoros con duchas de bidé.

Los dormitorios tienen camas nuevas, ropa de cama de calidad y mucho espacio de almacenamiento.

Tenemos una piscina climatizada con energía solar en forma de 'L' de 12 metros que tiene una buena longitud para los nadadores.

Contamos con una piscina de hidromasaje al aire libre con maravillosas vistas.

Tenemos un gimnasio bastante bien equipado.

Disponemos de sauna multifunción de dos plazas (seca, vapor, infrarrojos - cargo extra por el uso de la sauna).

Christmas in Tuscany

The owners are fantastic in every way. Strongly recommend letting them prepare at least one Tuscan dinner as part of your stay- you will be glad you did. The property is gorgeous and well furnished. The location is a bit out of town, so come prepared to bit of twisty driving. If you’re looking for a quiet and idyllic Tuscan experience, this is the place to stay.

What a wonderful exerience !

I finally got known on how a lady last year could leave a nasty review o my place even without having confirmed no booking. Here it comes that an inquiry of mine just to find out about HomeAway prices and procedures, inquiry that of course I have never confirmed ends up asking e how was my stay with myself in my own property : there is something wrong here people of HomeAway. Do please check upon your procedures and controls. Do please delete also that nasty revenging review of a guest that until 4 months after her stay which she judged "great", suddenly while I've realised that she had not paid and asked her the payment it became a nightmare . At that time I've asked your assistance but you went on her side causing me big losses . hank you for your attention on this Kindest regards Danny Dei

Great stay in the Tuscany

Let’s start with the house: it’s a beautiful place with everything you need. It has a swimming pool as you can see in the pictures and four terraces which give you the choice to sit in the sun or shadow anytime of the day, however you like it. We had a thunderstorm one night and still enjoyed our dinner outside on one of the covered terraces – perfect! As one former guest has written, the villa is in the middle of nowhere. giving you a wonderful view of the nature surrounding it. It’s very quiet and private there so you can enjoy the wonderful evenings watching the mountains and forests. There are little villages nearby, however you definitely need a car to get around to do your grocery shopping. We were a party of five and had three bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, so there never was any hassle who could go first in the morning.  Everything is well equipped with tasteful furniture We met Danny and Peter as our hosts who greeted us with a great welcome basket full of local products like cheese, ham, wine and more. Danny and Peter were both extremely friendly and helpful in any which way. If you need any advice or tips they will be there for you at all times. We all loved our stay in the beautiful Tuscany. Top verblijf met een top gastheer

Wij hebben in dit huis genoten van alle faciliteiten die dit huis biedt. Het is een prachtig huis dat van alle gemakken is voorzien. Zo zijn er veel verschillende plekken om zowel binnen als buiten te zitten en te genieten van het uitzicht (je kijkt prachtig uit over de vallei). Daarnaast zijn het zwembad en jacuzzi ideaal om te ontspannen. Wij hebben hier een week gezeten en zijn amper het huis uit geweest omdat het huis zo fijn was. Naast het huis word je heel prettig en gastvrij ontvangen. De gastheer (Danny) wachtte ons al met bubbels op om ons welkom te heten. Ook had hij een mand vol met streekproducten klaarliggen, om de eerste dag(en) goed door te komen. Daarbij biedt Danny de mogelijkheid aan om het eten te laten verzorgen in het huis. Dit is een ontzettende aanrader voor iedereen die het leuk vindt om de traditionele Italiaanse keuken wilt proeven en van lekker eten houdt. De tafel wordt prachtig ingedekt, je krijgt meerdere hoogstaande gangen inclusief bijpassende wijnen. Alle gangen gaan gepaard met een leuke introductie. Zoals je al uit voorgaande kan opmaken hebben wij ontzettend genoten van dit huis en Danny. Wij raden dit iedereen aan!

Perfect home in the mountains of Tuscany

This was the highlight of our Italy vacation! I traveled with my parents and my husband, we had the entire villa to ourselves (including use of the pool, hottub, and sauna). From the very beginning, Danny made us feel right at home. We highly recommend having the homemade dinner and cooking class with mum Beppina. It was a great experience to see mother and son cooking together and learn some of the tips and tricks to making handmade pasta and gnocchi. We let Danny know that we had some dietary restrictions within our group and he was able to make a fully vegetarian 3 course meal for us with even some vegan options. The house was as described and photos can not do the view justice. Waking up to the sound of birds and the sun coming up over the mountain side was priceless. This is a great location if you want to make a few day trips out to nearby towns, but mainly enjoy Tuscany. We went to Florence (Firenze) on two days which was about an hours drive away, but I would recommend staying in Rome for a night if you want to see the sights there. If you have any questions about activities in the area or restaurant recommendations, Danny is very responsive and helpful. Don't hesitate to reach out even during your stay. Overall, we had a wonderful week long stay and would definitely return again. Thank you for the memories Danny!

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa casa in occasione di un compleanno, già dal primo contatto i proprietari si sono dimostrati molto disponibili, non tutti gli host accettano gruppi di ragazzi giovani che intendono soggiornare per festeggiare. La casa, che dire, splendida, dotata di tutti confort che rendono il soggiorno magico. VERAMENTE MA VERAMENTE CONSIGLIATO. Non vediamo l’ora di poterci tornare. Grazie ancora per averci dato fiducia e per i bellissimi ricordi che avremo di casa vostra.

FANTASTISCH

Dit jaar hebben wij voor het eerste een boeking gedaan via VRBO bij Casa La Massa. Ook was het voor ons een eerste directe boeking bij een particuliere host en waren we wel voorzichtig met klopt het allemaal wel, bestaat de woning, mag het verhuurd worden? Voorafgaande aan de boeking hadden we een zeer prettig contact met de eigenaar Danny. Er werd snel gereageerd en we voelden de positieve vibe van La Massa in de gesprekken die we hadden (vragen en beantwoording). Op 8 augustus kwamen we na een lange rit aan het begin van de avond aan. We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen door Danny en Tania, er lag een heerlijke welkoms mand klaar met wijn, pasta, olijfolie etc... We kregen een mooie rondleiding door het huis en voelde directe de warme Toscaanse sfeer in het huis en van Danny en Tania. Het huis was geweldig! Mooie schone kamers, veel ruimte en compleet ingericht. Een huis met enorm veel privacy waarbij mocht het nodig zijn je contact kan opnemen met Danny Het zwembad was ook heerlijk, zeker met de overkapping (waardoor je de kinderen ook rustig konden zwemmen). Het zwembad is groot , mooi ingericht en heeft een schitterend uitzicht over de toscaanse heuvels. Danny, Tania en Marco maken je het volledig naar je zin en willen alles voor je uitzoeken of verzorgen. Zelf wonen zij beneden in het huis, maar je hebt volledige privacy doordat het bovengedeelte wat wordt verhuurd prive is gelegen. Daarnaast kunnen ze een heerlijke Toscaanse maaltijd voor je verzorgen (absoluut een aanrader) en ook een kookles verse pasta met de moeder van Danny (Beppina) is iets wat je moet doen! Wij hebben er twee weken heerlijk verbleven en het is een schitterend huis met de supermarkt (Lidl, Coop etc) op 15 minuten rijden. Deze liggen in Poppi of Bibiena. De steden Arezzo en Florence zijn binnen het uur aan te rijden, dus echt afgelegen wil ik het huis niet noemen. Het is een schitterende prive villa wat alles wat je nodig hebt dichtbij is. Zo kan je in het typisch Italiaanse dorpje Castel de San Niccolo (5 min rijden) heerlijk Italiaans eten (pizza, pasta en vlees) en genieten op het terras van b.v. Street Saloon. Daar waan je je echt in het Italiaanse Toscane. Je zult nooit teleurgesteld zijn als je naar La Massa gaat! Wij willen Danny, Tania, Marco en Beppina bedanken voor de geweldige tijd die wij bij hen hebben gehad en bedankt voor alle goede zorgen. Aan de mensen die twijfelen om La Massa te boeken, zeggen wij. twijfel niet, het is geweldig!

Superbe Séjour

Daniele vous accueille dans sa belle maison de vacances. Elle est très bien située pour visiter l’ensemble des sites toscans. Nous y avons passé un agréable séjour à trois couples. La maison est parfaitement agencée et dispose de tout le nécessaire pour un séjour de vacances. Elle est située dans un écrin de verdure calme et reposant. Les petites fiches de Daniele vous permettent de découvrir rapidement les bons plans pour une alimentation de qualité. Merci à Daniele et Tania pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse.

Relaxing days in a wonderful house in the "rainforest" in Tuscany

During the current Covid-19 situation, we decided last minute to spend some days in Italy. We are a family of four with two kids aged 7 and 10. As it was already autumn we were looking for a house with some facilities for the kids, e.g. covered pool (with the possibility to heat it up), hot tub etc. And, we found the Villa La Massa dei Mori – by the way, I never asked Daniele why it is called like that. When we arrived it was still a bit raining, and if you looked around the house there were only trees and with the rain and the fog it looked like being in the middle of a rainforest. The house was exactly like it is shown in the different pictures. It is a little jewel in the middle of nowhere. We loved the nature surroundings, the silence, the peace, the privacy. Nevertheless, some really nice little villages are nearby such as Poppi, Stia, Bibbiena (approx. 10-20 min. by car) and even Arrezzo you can reach within a one hour drive. And, if you like hiking then this is the perfect place to explore the “rainforest”. We did some really nice hikes and started directly at the house. There are also nice hiking and bike trails around Poppi and Bibienna. The house itself is wonderful and quite big with four terraces, three lovely bedrooms (each bedroom in another color) and ensuite bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen with very nice colored Tuscan dishes including a dining table and a living room, and a second huge living and dining room (which we actually never used). One evening we were guests in our “own” rented house, and Daniele and Tania prepared a yummy dinner with starter, first, main, and dessert for us, and even served us. Thanks again for this lovely evening. Daniele is the host of the house, and he is great, very professional, flexible and always there for his guests. Thanks also to the rest of the family: Tania, little Gioia, Daniela and Marco. All in all, we had wonderful days in a lovely house in the Tuscan “rainforest”, and due to the great weather on our last day, we decided to prolong and skip our departure to the next days, which luckily was possible. Sehr schöne Tage in einem Toskana-Anwesen in den Bergen

Das Anwesen war sehr schön gelegen und Abseits jeglichen Trubels. Da wir alleine waren (4 Personen) konnten wir den Pool den Whirlpool und alles Weitere alleine genießen. Daniele der Besitzer war sehr nett und aufgeschlossen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und uns gut erholt. Daniele und Marco haben uns zum Essen eingeladen und für uns gekocht. das war ein sehr netter Abend.

Isolated Location & Intrusive Owners

This is a very isolated location and the nearest shops are a good 20 minutes drive away. The scenery and property are very nice but it is not at all private, the owners are constantly creeping up on you, ostensibly to see if there is anything you need, and when the owners have guests they take over the pool and make it feel awkward to sit on the terrace. More like a B&B where you are expected to leave during the day than somewhere to relax in private.

An excellent stay in stunning surroundings

This is our third visit to Vertelli, La Massa. This time we brought three of our children and another totaling six altogether. The accommodation worked just as well with six as with the two of us. The accommodation consisted of three rooms each with perfect en-suites and open doors enabling easy access outside.There is also access to the living areas which are all well stocked and the rooms were tastefully decorated. We had many a meal sat outside eating local produce, drinking wine and limoncello whilst watching the stars. Danny is constantly and tastefully improving the house whilst ensuring the house is environmentally friendly and sitting comfortably amongst the stunning scenery which he grew up in and still cherishes. It is an honour to be able to share such a beautiful area of Tuscany undisturbed by mass tourism and be welcomed as a friend. The house is clean and the rooms are kept cool and comfortable at night to ensure a peaceful nights sleep. Danny has all the local information at his fingertips on visits, travel, and places to buy local produce. He is there when needed but never intrusive. This time we visited a Chianti vineyard where we tasted and sampled their local wine, learned about the production, toured the fields of vines before being entertained with a brilliant lunch in the main hall of the Castello. An excellent day. We also visited Florence where the temperature reached 39 degrees C. A very lovely city full of amazing art work but we were pleased to return to the peace of Vertelli and the welcoming dip in the pool. Other visits included Poppi and local town visits as well as several good meals in local restaurants which Danny recommended.Watch out for Danny's amazing simple and easy to follow recipes which come tried and tested and make for a memorable meal on the terraces. Thank you for another relaxing and peaceful stay and we shall be thinking of planning our next visit to the valley and La Massa. Gillian, Richard and family.

Great house and the best host!

We absolutely loved our stay at LaMassa. The property is situated in a rustic setting with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. It is wonderfully landscaped to provide a thousand beautiful spaces that highlight the gorgeous plantings and natural plants. There are a number of areas to relax and enjoy. The pool is amazing, offering a covered warm environment when needed on chilly days, but can be open on warmer days. We loved to sit outside and hear only the rushing of the nearby stream, and at night see only the few dim lights of mountain cottages in the distance. The house is well furnished, perfectly laid out to accommodate a few or many. The bedrooms were lovely, comfortable beds and we appreciated the en-suite bathrooms. The beautiful kitchen is well designed and equipped. Danny is a gracious and accommodating host. The fantastic welcome basket of local products was greatly appreciated. Danny was very welcoming and attentive in orienting us to the property, the local attractions, and provided us with a lot of vital information that helped us during our stay. While there, we took many day trips to the well known, popular Tuscan sites (Florence, Siena, Assisi, SanG, Montepulciano, etc); our favorite days were those that we spent more locally, spending more time at the house and visiting great local sites (such as Poppi Castle) that have very few other tourists. We'd love to return someday,

Our Home Away From Home

Dei Mori La Massa is the perfect relaxing getaway in a beautiful, remote corner of Tuscany. The Casentino is ideal for those who are looking for amazing scenery, hiking, hearty classic Tuscan cuisine and exploring small, friendly towns and villages. La Massa is secluded and private and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The newly redecorated bedrooms are lovely. Danny has an artist's eye and his creative touches give each of the beautiful rooms a unique identity. The open plan kitchen is perfect. We loved cooking dinner with music playing and all the doors open to the beautiful hills of Vertelli. Sitting on the open terrace in the morning watching the sunrise is a magical experience. Danny is the perfect host and an endless source of valuable information about the area and its towns, restaurants and food. This was our third stay at La Massa and it will not be our last!

Valley adventures

Apart from a shaky start to our holiday of not being able to locate Villa La Massa (we are not the best navigators), our stay in Vertelli was very pleasant. Daniele, the gracious owner of the villa came to our rescue in a nearby town and accompanied us to his home where we were amazed to find a welcome basket full of goodies (a rarity indeed). There were sufficent supplies to concoct a meal which was a godsend as we had arrived so late in the day. The villa was charming as described however it was Daniele's accomodating and helpful nature that made our stay so relaxing. He is very knowledgeable and gave us much advice on what to do and see. Our trip to Florence was wonderful as was the visit to Poppi castle however other nearby towns were a little dissappointing in our opinion. Overall a most enjoyable holiday with a charming host in the shape of Daniele !!

Relaxing stay, Beautiful area and great Host

Tranquillity and the ambiance. La Massa is all you need for a Relaxing stay in a Beautiful area. The whole place oozes charm yet modern and it feels like you could live there away from the bustle of life. La Massa is well equipped with everything you need and with a brilliant host in Danny you will get a very warm welcome and help in every way. The surrounding area is lovely and Florence only about an hour away by car through some brilliant countryside just great for exploring by car or walking. Recommend shop in Poppi for the wine! Danny was brilliant and an encyclopedia of information. Florence was an hour away in the car and well worth a visit. Surrounding area has loads of restaurants and you must try the 'garage' just outside Poppi on a junction to the east.

TOTAL COMFORT AND BEAUTY

I don’t know where to begin. From the convenience, beauty and privacy of the location, to the “at home” comfort of DeiMori La Massa itself and to the welcoming, funny and gregarious personality of Daniele. He even lent us his personal IPOD so we could hear very specific music we asked for. I think there are move DVD’s to watch then movies I have seen in my whole life. The kitchen was so well equipped we were able to cook full meals on the days we just refused to leave the beauty of DeiMori La Massa. Looking back now, all I conjure up is the absolute beauty, tranquility and comfort of DeiMori. If I think hard, I can remember the long and exhausting flight from the U.S., suffering from jet lag, having to wait at the airport for 2 hours in Rome for our rental car, 4 women and 8 suitcases crammed in an Opal for the 4 hour drive. As we pulled up to the house, as grumpy as we all were, our mouths were open with amazement that this was our home for the next two weeks. After a good night’s rest in super comfortable beds, and a day napping by the pool, all thoughts of that first day of travel evaporated from our minds until this very moment as I write this. I hadn’t thought about that part since that first day. We were four adult women, and we all felt like we had privacy when we wanted it, yet a family living area to share. We never ate one meal, (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner or cocktail hour) in the house! The patio was just to inviting. We still talk about how we wish we had spent more time with Daniele. He was not intrusive or around all the time, yet we could tell he was genuinely concerned that our every need was met. If he had to be away, he made sure charming sister Daniella checked in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. A car is required to get to and from the house, but for us it was part of the fun of exploring. Even if only driving to train stations! DeiMori is surrounded by nature, and you can feel it in the house as well as outside. From the power and water for use in the house, to the cooling effects of the windows and shutters, renewable energy is at play. It was eye opening to experience how much one could do to help the earth with modern energy techniques at DeiMori. And it was embarrassing as well to be an American and know we have fallen so short compared to DeiMori. I must go back. That is just a fact of life I have come to terms with. DeiMori’s siren song is part of my soul now!

Italian Getaway

This holiday was All and so much more than I could have expected from the information given. Everything was as it looked on website and the host Danny was just wonderful. It was like meeting an old friend rather than the host. Danny couldn't have done enough for us and everything was perfect. The home is clean and very functional, the pool a dream on hot days, the local lifestyle is great and shopping is easy. So much to do and not far away. Anything you need to know Danny has the info for you. After a busy time before our stay this was the perfect Italian end to our holiday. The in house cooking class with his Mother was a great delight for us all even the hubbies were in there making pasta etc and having a great time. My hope is to return soon and I will be staying here for sure. AAA+ holiday highly recommended.

Paradise in the Casentino

My sister and I stayed at Dei Mori La Massa for 11 nights. It was our second time staying at La Massa. Danny greets guests upon arrival with a lovely welcome basket of local foods & wine, a lifesaver if like us you didn't have time to shop prior to arrival. The villa is lovely, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is spacious and the bedroom is charming with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. If like us you are not up to nighttime driving in the mountainous Casentino, the kitchen at La Massa will not disappoint. It is by far the best kitchen of any rental we have stayed in. One of the reasons to stay in the Casentino is the natural beauty of the area, and La Massa has multiple outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Even when inside, the villa opens up to the outside so you never feel removed from the beautiful surroundings. The decor and personal touches such as fresh flowers tell you that this is not a faceless rental property, but a well-loved home. Danny makes himself available to assist with whatever you may need, and a cooking class with his mom Beppina is not to be missed! We love La Massa and can't wait to return.

Wij zijn hier twee weken geweest. Met 3 volwassenen en ons zoontje van 2 en half. De beschrijving klopt helemaal. We hebben het geweldig gehad. Toen we aankwamen stond er een mand met eten klaar. En een versgebakken brood. De eigenaren zijn erg gastvrij en behulpzaam geweest. Wij hebben bezocht de plaatsen Arezzo, Pisa, Castel Poppi, Bibienna, Florence en Rimini voor dagje strand. marvellous holiday opportunity in green Tuscany

Dei mori La Massa is a beautiful spot overlooking the green Tuscany ( Casentino)! The house itself is perfect: fully equipped, and tastefully decorated. On arrival you find a basket of ingredients to make a pasta, accompanied with a bottle of red wine, and a cake for dessert. A fresh bouquet of flowers welcomes you! The beds are ready, and towels are available. On the terraces you don't find plastic furniture, but cast iron furniture to enjoy your meal and wooden furniture with plenty of cushions around the swimming pool. For sportive people you enyoy a fully equipped gym! La Massa is the sum of renting a house and bed breakfast minus the breakfast. Peter and Daniel are very charming hosts, helping you with trips, making reservations, helping you out in anyway they can - even when you have a car accident. In one sentence: you find the comfort you have at home, with the luxuries on top. Great value for your money!

A wonderful experience

We stayed at La Massa at the end of June for a few days relaxation. The villa really is a home from home - only with better weather and beautiful scenery. The photos accurately represent the high standard of furnishings and wonderful facilities, what they cannot convey however is the warm welcome we received from Danny and Peter. Our hosts were ever-attentive but never obtrusive, nothing was too much trouble and they provided a wealth of information on places to visit and where to eat in the local area. We'd definitely advise having a car while staying at La Massa as there are so many lovely villages and small towns to visit, and Florence is only an hour away. La Massa is perfect whether you just want to relax or explore the sights. It's location, with views across the valley, is just superb. The pool area was certainly a bonus both to sunbathe and take a refreshing dip. We've had no hesitation in recommending this wonderful villa to several friends and can also recommend a stay at Danny and Peter's B&B in the heart of Florence. Do try to book early and we're sure that, like us, you will become repeat visitors to this little piece of paradise. Thank-you so much for making our stay special. Dave & Milka XXXXX
