El respiro de Alaska ... ¡nuevo y a solo 100 pasos de la playa! Esta propiedad es el lugar perfecto para alojarse y disfrutar de la diversidad que es Belice.

Este pequeño pedazo de cielo está ubicado en el lugar perfecto, no muy cerca del ruido de los bares pero muy cerca de todo. Ubicado en el extremo norte de Placencia Village, justo en la famosa acera, este impresionante estudio junto al mar es contemporáneo, abierto y espacioso. A solo una cuadra encontrará una tienda de comestibles moderna, una farmacia de nueva construcción y el banco local con un cajero automático. Un paseo de cinco a quince minutos y accede a más de 15 restaurantes, puestos de fruta fresca y otras tiendas.

Si prefiere comer, este encantador estudio tiene una cocina completa que está bien equipada, que incluye estufa, refrigerador, vajilla, ollas, sartenes, microondas, cafetera, tostadora, licuadora, batidora y utensilios. La mesa de comedor de madera de cuatro asientos es el escenario perfecto para disfrutar de su comida casera.

La unidad luce granito en todas partes. Hay una nueva cama queen size y el futón se puede utilizar para acomodar a invitados adicionales. Todos los muebles fueron construidos por artesanos locales de maderas duras de Belice.

Para su comodidad, hay aire acondicionado, o puede disfrutar de la maravillosa brisa marina abriendo las grandes puertas francesas. Hay ventiladores de techo para enfriar los espacios interiores y exteriores.

A paradise hiding in plan sight.

Very well kept place, even down to the gorgeous teak wood trim and shelves. Everything was thought of when they did this place. Get up early for sunrises you wont be disappointed even though its 5:30 am.We really enjoyed our stay!

Placencia is a great village with very friendly people.

This is one of the best properties I have stayed in. Communication with Mae was excellent. The information she sent us was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about the ease of communicating and the amenities of the property. So close to the beach and you can walk to everything you need. A very great experience.

Great stay

We had a great week at the Alaska Reprieve. Everything was as shown, no surprises , very clean , close to beach club which is awesome and just a bit further to the bars and restaurants, which is actually maybe a good thing. Very quick responses from owner. I sure wish Placencia was easier to get to from Western Canada. Maybe some day.

Comfortable, quiet, well equipped, great location.

We had an awesome and restful time. The Studio was well apportioned and very comfortable for the two of us. The owners, Mae and Phil are super friendly and take great care of the property and made sure we had everything we needed. Almost don’t want to recommend their place for fear that it won’t be available to us next time around. Would definitely request renting again.😀

Bill and Jean’s Placencia Getaway.

The property is modern, clean and wonderfully appointed. It has everything you need for any type of getaway. Right on the famous sidewalk it is steps from the beach and the Placencia Beach Club (membership included with your rental). The Beach Club facilities and staff were wonderful and became an almost daily stop for us. Morning coffee on the veranda and the beach access provided spectacular sunrise views. The owners Mae and Phil were on the property (upper studio) during our stay and were wonderful hosts. Placencia is our “happy place” and we would definitely return and stay at Alaska Reprieve!

Relaxing getaway

I stayed in lower apartment with friends who rented the upper apartment. The home was very well constructed and we weathered rain and wind storms very well. Kitchen facilited were well kitted but my friends upstairs did most of the cooking. But everything was comfortable and cozy. Loved sitting on front porch greeting people as they passed and watching birdlife.

Our Home In Placencia!!!

We loved Alaskan Reprieve so much last year that it was easy to decide where to stay this year!!! The location is fantastic (right off the Side Walk), steps from the Caribbean Sea and very near our happy place (The Placencia Beach Club). This property is impeccably maintained, well appointed and comfortable. We got to meet some of the staff. They are hardworking and appreciative of the guests. Mae is a word-class host that responds rapidly and thoughtfully to requests. Treat yourself to a great experience when visiting Placencia (we did!!!).

Amazing Location and accommodations

Phil and Mae have a gem of a property. Location was perfect on the northend famous sidewalk. It was a short walk to the beautiful village of Placencia. Our unit had everything we needed to feel at home. Clean would be an understatement. The house more than met our needs however Phil and Mae exceeded our expectations. We have been a vrbo customer for years and can honestly say that Mae and Phil were the most amazing hosts we have ever met. Can not say enough good things about our two weeks in Placencia and the setting Mae and Phil have created for their guests. We will be back. Thank you for making our memories so brilliant and unforgettable.

This is the best VRBO I have ever stayed at! The location is perfect. It’s literally right on the pedestrian sidewalk. All the restaurants were a short walk away. Having access to the Placencia Beach Club pool was an added bonus. It was nice to take a dip in the pool and enjoy the view of the beach from the pool in the afternoons. The cleanliness of the unit was immaculate. I pay attention to cleanliness details, and this unit is by far the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed at. The unit is well stocked and has everything you need, and it’s very nice and comfortable to stay at. The bed was exceptionally comfortable as well. Mae was excellent with communicating throughout the entire process. I highly recommend anyone who is staying in Placencia to rent the Alaska Reprieve. It is a gem!

A Placencia Gem

This beautiful apartment is 5 STAR all the way including the hosts! A very efficiently built apartment that has all the amenities you could ask for. Complete kitchen with all needed appliances, adequate shelving for storing essentials and clothing. A very comfortable bed, AC with Smart TV for entertainment. To be honest, we spent most of our down time enjoying the large porch with comfortable seatiing and shades to view the ocean. With beach chairs provided we could be at the beach with in steps watching the waves roll in. Being right off the pedestrian sidewalk gives easy access to town. I especially enjoyed using the "floaties" to just float on the water. The hosts are amazing, generous and kind. They went above and beyond to make our visit not just enjoyable but extraordinary! Thank you Mae and Phil for your hospitality! We will return....

Beautiful spot in paradise

Well stocked and nicely appointed. Right on The Sidewalk. We walked out trails off daily but it was worth is. The is construction going on but it's tolerable. Feet from the ocean and close to the Beach Club if you prefer a pool. I would definitely book this place again!

Spring break ‘22

My wife and I stayed at the Alaska Reprieve the first week of April and had a fantastic trip. The location, size and amenities of the Alaska Reprieve were top notch. Local tour operators know its location so no issues being picked up for side trips. Simply a great place to stay and we’ll book it again for our next trip to Placencia.

Perfect stay in Placencia

What a fabulous place in Placencia! We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The house was super clean, nicely furnished, located in a wonderful area and the communication with Mae was phenomenal. She sent so much information prior to our trip which really helped, as this was our first time to Belize. The ability to spend time at the Placencia Beach Club was awesome also! I can’t say enough about this place. I highly recommend to anyone traveling to the area!!

We could not have been happier with this rental. The information sent to us ahead of time provided us with everything we needed to know about the area and about the cottage itself. A week in Placencia!

We Loved the Alaska Reprieve! Cute studio with full kitchen and excellent location. Easy check in, easy check out. 100 footsteps to the beach that we swam in everyday. We used the kayaks every day also. Caught lots of fish and got lots of sun. The beach club was an added bonus and we spent many hours there hanging at the pool drinking pina colada's and Belekin beer. Being on the north end of the sidewalk made it a great location for walking home after dinner and drinks. A FULL thumbs up to Mae!

Phil Prax and Mae Marsh hail from Alaska and know the joy of a reprieve from winter snow removal and subzero temperatures. That is why they envisioned and built Alaska Reprieve (AKA Prax & Associates)

Phil was born in Minnesota and relocated to Alaska when he was 14 years old. Phil’s family-owned and operated bakery/restaurant in downtown Fairbank. Phil refers to this as his “child labor days” which imbued him with a hard work ethic and a generous nature. Phil is a trained APA mechanic, he loves planes and flying. In the Alaska summers, he enjoys his Cessna 175 and in September he relishes moose hunting at the family's remote cabin. Phil worked for several Alaska-based airlines and for the Alaska pipeline for over 30 years as a station manager and mechanic. Phil traveled the world and first visited Belize in the early ’80s where he fell in love with the land and the people.

Mae is from the east coast but has lived in many places throughout the world. Mae’s background includes a distinguished 27-year federal career and almost five years with the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her 35-year association with military organizations granted her the opportunity to experience and enjoy diverse geographic locations, workplaces, and cultures. She was born in Maryland but lived and worked in San Diego, CA; Charleston, SC; Fort Dix, NJ; Lawton, OK; El Paso, TX; Tacoma, WA; Germany; The Netherlands; and has called Fairbanks home for many years. Mae first traveled to Belize in 2015 where she fell in love with the small fishing village of Placencia.

Together, Phil and Mae set out to create a place where others can enjoy the peace of mind they have found in Placencia. Due to the couple’s extensive travel, they have a high bar for comfort and amenities. Every detail of Alaska Reprieve was developed with your relaxation in mind. Phil and Mae look forward to sharing their reprieve in the hopes you will enjoy it as much as they do!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We purchased this property for several reasons.

1. It is located right in the village of Placencia and within walking distance of grocery stores and every amenities offered in the village. It has that village vibe and is reminiscent of the 1950's Key West and offers peek-a-book sea views through the palms and tropical foliage.

2. The property is located at the north end of the sidewalk and is within walking or crawling distance of the bars but far enough away for serenity and peace.

3. The property is beautiful and located steps away from the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

This unit is brand new and modern. Every feature was chosen with the thought of visitor comfort. The large french doors open to the sea and you can spend mornings watching the tropical birds and the sunrise.
