The location is unbelievable. We loved our stay here. Would like to see some modern updates and a bigger shower at this price point. ...But nothing can beat the beauty of the north shore of Kauai and that will always come with a premium for a stunning location. Still 5 stars because it's just so amazing.

House, beds, living room was very comfortable. View of the ocean from all rooms was very pleasant. Minutes close to beaches, Hanalei for eats and provisions and Napali. Ha'ena area is serene.

Amazing location and house!

Perfect Hawaiian getaway. The house was so unique and classic Hawaiian feel. Excellent location. Didn’t ever want to leave. Being able to walk to the general store and coffee shop was so fun.

This is a Classic Hawaiiana home. Yes there is traffic but when everyone goes home for the day you hear the sound of the waves. We felt quite at home here.

Good location to be first at the North Shore beaches.

It’s nice good floor plan. Nice location although we though we could not walk right to the beach like we thought from advertising. The master bed was great. Love all the windows. Only draw back was a musky smell (we finally got used to it) and the doors on the master bedroom didn’t close correctly and were very loud when trying to open. I’d stay here again.

Past reviews mentioned that the rooms were arranged railroad style and this is true but we did not find this an inconvenience. We loved the feel and history of the house and it was nice to be close to the store for any items we needed to quickly pick up. Hope to return someday! Mahalo!

Great little beach house on the North Shore of Kauai

Amazing house with nice size yard, washer & dryer, view of ocean banana trees on property. If you’re lucky they will be ripe & ready to eat. Little market 2 houses away with smoothie shop next door. Close to Hanea. About 10 -15 min drive to Hanalei town. Beach chairs, ice chests, umbrellas & towels for trips to beach. Picnic table out front for outdoor eating. Windows open wide to allow ocean breezes to cool house & ventilate. Highly recommend this house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a tricky one, because the place is really special and Liz was so helpful with the many problems the property had. I'm guessing they fixed everything and that we just had unlucky timing. I'd stay there again if I knew it was going to be in good shape. It really has a great vibe. Way understocked in the kitchen and the lighting needs major improvement. I can't overstate how great the management was to us! Aloha!

Reviewer Comments: we loved this house, it had everything we needed, i loved the huge windows i could open up and leave them open all night to listen to the wonderful sounds of the river and the waves crashing on the shore.they even had alot of beach supplies in the back sheds like boogie boards, snorkle equip. and surfbaords ect which i found out on the last day ( stupid me) after i rented everything they had LOL. i would definitely stay here again for sure, my wife even said she loved it too and that we should make this our GO TO place when we come back and i agree, i stayed at princeville condos in the past and i think this is a way better, i want my own place/house when i go on vacation and not look at a bunch of parking lots and carports and PEOPLE. i played frisbee in the front yard with my 3 year old son and bbq in the back at night time i even layed out some towels on the picnic table in the front yard and looked up at the beautiful abundant stars and watched for shooting stars. Oh and the beds were nice and super cozy too, most places have older or cheap or uncomfortable mattresses but these owners like to have their guests cozy, i can tell ) nice job guys, P.S. future guests, treat this place like it was your own such as use thin toilet paper, dont waste water and electricity and mayebe thoughtful and caring vacation prop. owners like these guys will keep the cost and a really respectable rate like they do now. enjoy your stay.

Like Staying at Your Friend's Beach House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When I travel, I like to feel like a part of a place, which is something a resort just can't do. This place, however, delivered. It was like staying at a friend's slightly funky beach house. The master bedroom was particularly great because it felt like staying deep in the jungle with the bull frogs, birds calling, and tropical showers late at night just outside our window. Didn't even need the A/C since the home gets great cross breezes. LOVED the location on the north convenient to all the best beaches. Super comfortable beds. We had a few issues come up which the management handled in record time. The only downsides: the bedrooms are all in a row as other reviewers have mentioned (with squeaky, stubborn doors) making privacy a bit of an issue as you need to walk through them to get to the main house. There is an outside door from one of them, but perhaps not that practical. The beach is directly across the street and it was wonderful to hear waves crashing at night, but you should know that there's no easy beach access. You can get there with a 20 minute scenic walk however. (It's not a swimming beach anyway so you may as well take a short drive to any of the incredible nearby snorkeling sites instead.) Very limited counter space in the kitchen for cooking, but we made do. Overall though, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat. A great value!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Comfortable and clean. A few outpoints that detracted from a "perfect" experience. It's not really walking distance to the beach, even though it's essentially right across the street. The closest access point is a short drive away. A plus is that it's walking distance to an excellent coffee shop! The three bedrooms are linked, so you have to walk through the 1st to get to the 2nd, and you have to walk through the 1st & 2nd to get to the 3rd. Also, the pocket doors between rooms and between BR and bathrooms are very hard to operate. Be aware you're in a natural environment, so it's not unusual for a few bugs to go scampering about...I suggest keeping you suitcase closed. No instructions for how to operate anything, especially the TV.

House was so dark inside for me (I have bad eyesight) I had to buy a head lamp to do almost everything, including putting on makeup.

I occupied the first bedroom in the line and it was amazing to wake up to the sunrise each morning. The house is close to everything. Yes, there is noise from the road. However, there is also the sound of the ocean and the bullfrog that resides in the front yard. Once you get past the bumping from the bridge, the sounds of nature take over. The house gets a nice breeze if you open up all the windows. There are beach chairs- they are located at the back of the house by the washer and dryer. We did not have great luck with the washer while we were there. Hopefully it’s fixed now. Otherwise, great stay!

Great beach house vibe!

Pros: super awesome beach house vibe and decor! This place had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing North Shore stay. Cons: the railroad style layout. I don't recall this in the listing when we booked, so we were surprised when we arrived. Just a bit awkward when you're staying with your kiddo and in-laws and can literally hear what's going on in the bathroom and room next door all through the night. And the road/bridge crossing is louder than expected especially if you're a light sleeper (noise cancellation app works wonders though!)

Perfect for us!

My husband and I shared the Master bedroom. Our 2 adult sons shared the other bathroom and each had a bedroom. We ALL loved the home, beds, and location. If you are concerned about privacy and a gourmet kitchen- this place probably wouldn't delight you like it did us. Conversely if you want to feel surrounded by jungle, have an awesome view, be a bit removed from people, and can manage just fine with a bare bones kitchen (I didn't come to cook, I came to snorkle) this place is worth the stay. I had been concerned that it might be a bit shabby or weird- but it was absolutely perfect for us.

Very cool traditional home by the ocean

This property was perfect for our group! We enjoyed the vintage vibe and decor. We appreciated the books, games, nice dishes. It was fun to cook together and play games after a day exploring. The beds are super comfy, the landscaping is pretty, and the sound of rhe ocean while we slept was very nice! Bit of noise from the bridge, but we didn't mind. Everything we needed was there. I am very happy that we found this property for our Kaui visit. Mahalo!

North Shore Old Hawaii

This is a great property! Like a prior guest said: it's like staying at a friend's old beach house. We always appreciate being off the beaten path. The cross breeze kept the house wonderfully cool and the beds were so comfortable. Wi-fi worked perfectly. The nearby market had many goodies and the smoothies were yummy. We are pretty laid back and were not bothered by the bridge traffic, frequent rooster crowing and sticky pocket doors. Most of the time there was only the blissful sound of the ocean. Three suggestions for improvement: please add table seating for 6. We do not eat on our living room furniture at home but had no choice if we wanted to eat "together". Please replace the bath towels. They smell terrible when used. A front covered area would be so lovely. The picnic bench was nice but too sunny most of the day. Mahalo!
