Love this place!!!!

This place is worth every penny and more. The house really makes you feel at home in the Bahamas. It literally has everything you could need like a giant pool in the front and a beautiful garden filled with locally grown fruits and veggies. My wife and I and four of our friends came to the Bahamas for a friends wedding and we couldn’t have chose a better place to call home for a week . Our host was the sweetest lady you could meet . She welcomed us personally with a tour of the property as well as a welcoming basket filled with the islands delights. She made sure to make us fill very welcomed and the communication was excellent as well. we had so much fun that we are already planning our trip next year to come back and visit. We will definitely be staying here when ever we come back. Recommend 10/10

Just Perfect!

My husband and I spent 6 nights at this beautiful home. The location is in an upscale neighborhood and felt vey safe and secure. The large unit we occupied was very clean and comfortable with every household amenity you can imagine. The pool was sublime! The pool area was a tropical paradise with a hilltop view of Atlantis and the cruise ships in the distance, as well as floats for the pool, a bbq grill, table, chairs, etc. With all that being said, our Hostess, Ms. Angela, was the star of this property! She welcomed us upon our arrival, gifted us with a glorious basket of goodies, and checked in with us regularly to ensure our comfort and to answer any of our questions. She went so far as to offer and provide rides for us. Although beaches are within walking distance, a car is recommended at this location. We often used taxi service to get around the island.- with no issues. The Bahamian people we met were so warm and friendly. It was our fist time in the Bahamas and we look forward to returning to expand our time on some of the other 699 islands. We HIGHLY recommend this property! And if you are lucky, Ms. Angela, will be home and can provide you with an enhanced VRBO experience- all while totally respecting your privacy and being unintrusive.

The pool is the star of this property. The property is very clean. The owner lives on site. This is not a stand alone unit. The large window facing the pool is the owner's unit. The windows were all open. That is not disclosed in the listing. We do not enjoy mingling with the hpst.

Disappointed

Pros: The yard is lovely. We enjoyed the labels on the trees indicating what trees grow edible fruits. The house is in a safe feeling area. The large dining table was a favorite spot where we enjoyed the puzzles. The kids bedroom beds are comfortable. The nearby beaches are stunning. Saunders was a favorite!ConsHot water was out 7 out of our 9 day stay. When it was fixed, it only reached a somewhat warm temperature. Ice cold showers suck. Dishwasher was broken for entire stay. We were told someone was coming to fix it, but never came. Did not enjoy spending time hand washing dishes on our vacation. Sat in a chair outside and it broke, leaving me with nasty bruises and sore for several days. It was sun worn. The master bedroom bed was possibly the worst mattress and squeakiest bed we have ever encountered. When we arrived at check in time, the house was not ready. In fact, it wasn’t ready until two hours after our check in time. This wasn’t a big deal to us, but with all the other things added on top of it….Things to be aware ofThe beach is a walkable by distance, but there are very few sidewalks. I would not feel safe walking there with small children. The pool water isn’t heated or covered at all. It was too cold for our preference. Just be aware of the time of year you visit is all. Neighborhood stray dogs are out nearly all night barking (not the hosts fault, but something to be aware of).

Clean, close to downtown, lovely host

Our stay was wonderful. Angela was so happy to have us. The house is clean and well stocked. We had body soap, shampoo, hair dryers, and towels stocked and ready to go in both bathrooms. There is a crib, high chair, plastic dishes as well as porcelain. There is a car seat, stroller, and pack-and-play in the hall closet if needed. Close to downtown and beaches. There is a reverse osmosis system for drinking water. Angela even had a welcome basket with cake, Bahamian beer, punch, and an avocado to try. She has trees all over the yard with mangos, soursop, coconuts, and avocados. The pool was lovely with a great view, plenty of seating and lounging options. Angela even brought us over her favorite kind of coconut and water as well as a fruit cake! It was a great stay and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Superb Vacation Rental

Communication with the host was excellent. Check in simple. Perfectly clean. It's about 20 minutes to the airport and 15 to downtown. The pictures are accurate. The host can recommend a driver if you are hesitant about left-side driving. I would stay again.

Excellent location, fabulous host

Our family of 5 had a relaxing week long stay at Sandford Palms. Everything you could want and more. It was like being in your own home, nothing is forgotten, you have everything you could ever need to be comfortable. Excellent kitchen tools if you want to cook, laundry room was also much appreciated. Spacious home. Large living space and sofas. Excellent air-conditioning. The pool was wonderful. Extremely clean. Wonderful gardens. Angela is a hostess who goes above and beyond for her guests. Helpful communication prior to stay when I needed local information for booking activities. Wonderful local welcome basket of goodies and then other generous gifts of local fruit. My daughter celebrated her birthday during our stay and Angela was so beautiful and kind coming over with a local gift, my daughter will treasure and remember. If you have a family or large group who likes to stay in properties with self catering facilities and a private pool in a safe environment, I highly recommend checking Angela out. 10 out of 10 stars. Home away from home

This was our 5th visit to the Bahamas and 2nd time staying here at Sandford Palms. Our Family enjoys the hospitality of our host Angela and the house feels like home. It’s a good size so we have enough room for everyone and the gardens throughout the property are appreciated. The location is great if you plan on renting a vehicle, it’s very central and close to the beach.

Great place for a family and close to everything!

Angela was a great host! Just a quick phone call away for whatever we needed during our stay. The house is great, 3 good size bedrooms. We were 6, 2 young daughters (4and 6) me and my wife, and grandparents. It had plenty of space for all of us. The pool is great for kids and adults as well haha. Location is good, just a 4 minute drive to Goodman's Bay beach, and 10 minutes to downtown Nassau. Highly recommend for a family, and Angela is a great host!

Pleasantly surprised

The house was in a good section of Nassau, not too far from down town and surrounding upscale areas. Angela, the host was attentive and accomodating to all our needs. When she found out we had family in the area she suggested she could have her yard maintenance men come early in case we would be entertaining. We mentioned a wasp nest by the pool and the next day the pool man was there. Thank you Angela for making our trip that much more enjoyable.

Quiet and comfortable

We had such a great time at this property!!! Far enough from the crowds but easy enough to get to downtown when we wanted to. The grounds were amazing with mango, avocado, papayas trees.

Warm weather delight

Our host Angela was warm and welcoming. The house was spacious with great outdoor areas for enjoying the sun and our books. We preferred to cook at home and the kitchen was equipped with all that we needed. The best beach that Angela had recommended was Goodmans and it was gorgeous with warm crystal blue water. Thank you Angela for joining us for our supper and bringing lobster! Yum

Great stay at perfectly located home

Angela has a beautiful home that she takes a lot of pride in. She maintains the property well and has people come in to fix anything needed. This was a perfect little getaway for our family and is within driving distance to all the things we’d hope to do/see. I would recommend renting a vehicle as was super easy to get around but might be possible to use transit we just didn’t look into it. The place is very spacious and had a lot of the cooking appliances we wanted access to while there. Would highly recommend and hope to be back again in the future!

Perfect vacation home!

I could not have picked a better home to stay in for vacation. The pictures were great but they don't do this beautiful place justice. The care the owner takes to make sure you are comfortable goes above and beyond most hosts.We got to spend some time with her and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I hope I get to return to her island paradise again. Please don't hesitate to vacation here. The pool was perfect. The house was clean and welcoming and the grounds are amazing! The first day there my friend took advantage of a nap in the hammock to rest up from travel. It is a slice of paradise that is close enough to Nassau to get there quickly if you choose but it is far enough away that you don't have much traffic to deal with to get to a nearby beach. We had a fantastic week and I can't wait to return to introduce my family to the island.

Dream Vacation

Spent an amazing week in this rental. A beautiful beach nearby, as well as the fish fry restaurants, the Straw market and other tourist attractions. The people were very friendly and welcoming. All the comforts of home along with a private pool. Angela was caring and genuine, and available for questions. The left hand drive on vehicles was a surprise but doable. The rental was beyond our expectations, the four of us were very pleased.

A Real Tropical Paradise

From the moment we saw it, this property was all we imagined of a place in the tropics: an unusually-designed rambling house set in an extensive garden full of exotic tropical trees and plants. So many palm trees! And so many different birds! The house itself is very spacious – particularly the lounge and dining area. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped; it has all one needs to cook up an authentic Bahamian meal! Then outside there’s the pool area: an unusually large pool, with the water at a perfect temperature, and an extensive area around it for the comfortable loungers – and the barbeque. There are two verandas close to the pool – ideal for sheltering from the sun, or those inevitable tropical showers! The property is only about a mile’s ramble (we went via Marlin Street) to the wide, empty Saunders Beach: what a delight! We loved exploring the western side of New Providence in particular, where we met so many cheerful friendly people. We really enjoyed our visit to The Bahamas, and would probably come back again – and to this amazing house. To the wonderful Angela who looked after us so well in so many ways while we were there: Thank you, it was a great holiday!

The owner of the property served for 30 years in top positions with the Ministry of Tourism and is fully familiar with the needs of the most discerning visitor.
The property was originally her family home in a lovely neighbourhood. Because of its size and attractiveness, it was the popular location for family celebrations, pool parties, Sunday barbecues and other events.
Now that the family has moved away, and my daughter is away from home practising law in USA, I converted the home to a vacation rental so that others can enjoy this beautiful property. The owner stays in a separate unit in the split level portion of the property

We bought the property because of its location in a nice neighbourhood and because the house has great character, with large rooms, back and front patios, pool and garden with interesting foliage and native plants which attract a large number of birds. One of its biggest assets is the central location just minutes away from the beaches, hotel resorts like BahaMar, restaurants, downtown area, Ardastra Gardens, Fish Fry and other tourist attractions.

Guests can commute by bus or car to all of the activities available in Nassau - Swimming with the Dolphins, Flamingo Show at Ardastra Gardens zoo, shark diving, parasailing,water skiing, snorkelling , golf, etc. and then come home and enjoy the comfort and privacy of this spacious property, where they can create their own culinary delights and dine by the pool, in the gazebo or the large dining room.
