Great bay and beach location

Wonderful location overlooking the bay with access to a beautiful, uncrowded beach right across the street. Comfy beach house will lots of bedrooms and large dining tables. The bay is great for kayaks and SUPs, and we had them delivered and had no problem carrying them down the private boardwalk to the bay. The house lacks luxury amenities like in-suite baths and a big kitchen, but it works well for families, with a basement playroom for any rainy days.

There is much to love about this house. It is across the street from a beautiful beach. It overlooks the bay. It has a pool and a hot tub. And it has 7 bedrooms--a unicorn in many respects. That said, our stay was very mixed with bizarre and uncomfortable interactions with the property and host:-The check-in time on the website and email was 10am. When we told him we planned to check-in at around 11:30, the host said this was an error and check-in was at 3pm. (He changed the listing after this). We were all coming from out of town and this threw off plans that had been made weeks before. Instead of apologizing, the host said "You seem like an intelligent person. Didn't you think something was off with that time?"-The host mentioned that there had been a recent storm with minor, unnoticeable roof damage. On our first night, it rained and there was a major leak in one bedroom. We had to move belongings and sleep in the living room. -The host asked me to tell the neighbors I was a friend of his wife, rather than a VRBO guest if asked. -When we arrived, the stove and oven did not work and the host was unreachable. The stove was fixed the next day but the oven didn't work the entire time. -After this, we smelled gas so decided to turn off the stove. The gas company was called and no gas leak detected, so we decided to cook...but we all continued to smell gas which was disconcerting. This was more stress than we needed on vacation--especially at thousands per day.

Wonderful home and amenities, great location, owner very responsive and helpful.

I hosted my adult daughters and their families. We all had a great time together. I have grandchildren ranging from age five to age sixteen, and every one of them had a blast. It was the perfect multi-generational family vacation. I highly recommend this property, and give the owner a five star rating as well.

Perfect Beach house and location

We had the most amazing time at this beach house! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed—from fully stocked kitchen essentials to comfy beds and towels. The location was unbeatable—just steps from the sand with stunning ocean views from the deck. Morning coffee on the beach or deck overlooking the bay each morning. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, providing clear instructions and great local recommendations. You can tell this home is well-loved and cared for.This was one of those trips where you wish you had booked an extra week. We’re already talking about coming back next year!Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable beach vacation.

Multi generational vacation

In no particular order: lovely location, nice size pool but it was cold when it should have been heated, hot tub cover broken, lots of pool and beach towels and I didn't care that they didn't match, Steve was responsive and tried to bring us beach chairs and umbrellas as there were no functioning or not gross chairs for the beach or umbrellas for shade, most of the outdoor furniture shabby and/or rusty, no pool toys except the 4 floats left by the bachelorette party who stayed there before us, Galley kitchen, pretty nice, but little cabinet space to store food, Description not accurate: only one king bed, not two, the beach photo is the ocean across the street, lovely on the bay location would have been great to have a little area to sit out there. Tiny bathrooms, none ensuite or double sink, bedrooms serviceable, although our king bed needed a king flat sheet, not a queen, all rooms very compact and not much privacy. The game room was a basement, converted garage, with no games and a bed, no bathroom or door for privacy, no children's books, toys, games, pool toys, I think this house was a better fit for the party before us than it was for our family.

Wonderful property! Large home, great for entertaining with a large pool and hot tub. Our host was exceptional. Stephen met us on arrival and gave us a quick tour and checked in periodically to be sure all was well.

A Perfect Long Island Getaway

Our experience at the West Hampton Dunes was absolutely lovely. From the moment we made the reservation to the moment we checked out, Steven, the owner, was communicative and very attentive. When looking for a serene retreat for my birthday in the North Fork/South Fork area(s), there were three must haves 1.) waking up to the water, 2.) Close proximity to vineyards and farms, and 3.) A heated pool and/or jacuzzi. Steve’s house did not disappoint in those areas. My birthday weekend started with a lovely catered birthday meal by a restaurant Steven recommended. Steven even helped to make that process easy by helping the restaurant owner with pictures for the table setting. The property is perfectly located between the bay and the ocean. The property is listed as having 7 bedrooms and they are all delicately decorated and situated with water views. I was even able to hear the waves as I went to rest for the night. Trying to find a property with a heated pool and/or jacuzzi still open in the first week of October wasn’t exactly the easiest. This house delivered! We actually ended up having lovely weather that weekend and spent a lot of time by the pool. An easy scenic drive led to our day at the vineyards and farms on that Saturday. Just lovely. Our morning at the beach the next day was picture perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return! Thank you Steven for being such an awesome host.

Just what we were looking for

There were 7 of us which having 7 bedrooms was perfect. The owner was very hands on and provided whatever what was needed. The pool, hot tub and ocean was enjoyed by all. The kitchen provided all the necessary items we needed as we did a lot of barbecuing. The house was very clean and quite spacious. The only negative was the pool took a really long time to heat up. We would certainly come back based on a very enjoyable 3 days.

Best Vacation

Enough space for 7 adults and 4 kids. Ideally located on the bay side but right across the street from beach access 5. Nice pool that was used every day. Between days at the beach and pool, all were exhausted but very happy.

Much needed family time

After a long 18 months of separation my family was looking for some fun family time. We all love the beach and this place was perfect. Stephen was friendly and attentive. Made sure we were all set and offered to get anything we might be missing in the home ( which we didn’t). Home is huge, beautiful and location can’t be beat. Will be back again. Thank you Stephen.

Spacious & Perfect Home for a Ladies Getaway

Steve was such a gracious host. Relaxed and so helpful if we texted to ask about anything. The house was really nice and so spacious for our cousins/ladies weekend. There was plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Pool and hot tub were great. We are all looking forward to using the house again for our next reunion!!

NO AMENITIES - Bring your own.

Steven (the host) is a good guy, but self-admittedly hasn't the first clue about providing amenities for such a high-price short-term rental. Most the furniture is Ikea or yard-sale finds ... silverware doesn't match, there were 3 spoons, 3 wineglasses, no chef knife, no hand towels or wash clothes in bathrooms , no toilet paper or paper towels, no garbage bags or cleaning supplies. The pool wasn't heated, most of the outdoor furniture is rusted or broken .... There's no stereo and he couldn't tell us if Netflix was available on the TV ... etc etc ...
