Gros Morne National Park

En el centro del Parque Nacional de Gros-Morne, designado como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, se encuentra el pintoresco pueblo de Rocky Harbour.



El pueblo es un enclave dentro del Parque Nacional de Gros Morne, y por lo tanto los residentes y los turistas están cerca de los senderos con vistas espectaculares, excursiones en barco, piscina cubierta climatizada con bañera de hidromasaje y transversal del condado pistas de esquí en la temporada.



Nuestra casa se encuentra en la costa sur de Rocky Harbour. Tiene su propia playa y el muelle. El alquiler es una casa moderna y espaciosa (1400 sq. Ft., O 130 metros cuadrados. Metros) en el frente de agua. El porche / terraza cubierta es un lugar ideal para sentarse con una taza de la mañana temprana de café o té para leer un libro o simplemente disfrutar de la soledad del día de ruptura. Durante la primavera, verano y otoño es ideal para comer al aire libre, mirando el sol sumergir en el horizonte.



Ya sea en invierno (por lo general más suave que en el continente debido al clima marítimo) o en verano (más fresco, por la misma razón), la zona ofrece múltiples oportunidades para actividades al aire libre. La natación está reservado para las almas de carácter fuerte (la temperatura del agua oscila entre 12 y 16C grados en verano y de 0 a 5C grados en invierno).



El dormitorio principal ofrece una imagen del Gros Morne desde la ventana de la habitación, lo que revela los colores siempre cambiantes y el carácter de esta impresionante forma de relieve. La habitación está muy bien amueblada con una cama doble de tamaño y mesitas de noche, ropa de cama de calidad y tiene su propio vestidor y cuarto de baño.

We had a great stay at Marcel & Ruth's - their place is spacious, well appointed and clean. The internet, BBQ and applicances worked well, and we even had a family Scrabble night (with teenagers!) after browsing their selection of board games. Rocky Harbour is a great central location to explore all that Gros Morne has to offer. Be sure to stock up on groceries in Deer Lake as the local stores have only limited supplies. Also consider wearing bug repellent in the morning and evening in Rocky Harbour, the no-see-ums were in full force in early August! Note the Vrbo listing is incorrect - there are actually two full bathrooms (one is ensuite to the master bedroom), not one!

Very well situated. Quiet with all the commodities. Loved Gros Morne, Western Bay Brook and the Tablelands. The fish market at the end of the street is also excellent. Hope to come back.

Nice House in Great Location

This property exceeded my expectations. The entire house looks like it had recently been remodeled. I’ve never slept so hard as the beds were comfortable, and the climate was just perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils needed, the bathrooms had plenty of water pressure, and the washer/dryer was a great benefit as we spent hours hiking and needed to do laundry every day. It is an easy drive to many different points in Gros Morne National Park and Rocky Harbor is a quaint little town that you can walk and explore too.

Lovely home in a great location

This home is really comfy and we loved being in the heart of Rocky Harbour. We felt like we had lots of privacy from the neighbors, and we had everything we needed (dishes, cookware, coffee and tea). The bed was super comfy! Everything was really clean, and the host was quick to respond to our questions prior to arrival and after. It was a joy to stay here and we hope to return someday. Thank you so much!!

Great house to stay in Rocky Harbour. We explored Norris Point and surrounding areas. Close to many restaurants and hikes. Would highly recommend.

Stay in Rocky Harbour

The house was nice but not the most comfortable. We would have loved to have a coffee by the water or even on the back deck but there were no comfortable chairs to sit on. There were 4 folding little wood chairs and after a long hike you can’t possibly be comfortable on them. The earwig situation in the house made us very uncomfortable.

Perfect place in a perfect location...

The house is perfect, in great shape, very clean, and perfectly located for enjoying Gros Morne National Park hiking trails that are both north and south of the house location. Best place for a "fresh breakfast" and at least one dinner is Java Jack's. Again, perfect place to stay with a back porch to enjoy the start and end of the day.

Great house, Great location

My son and I recently visited New Foundland for his high school graduation. The house was perfect. It was very clean and perfectly located for our daily outings into Gros Morne National Park. The house had all of the amenities for our trip and allowed us to cook several meals at home and also visit some great local restaurants. Also the deck views of the water with my morning coffee were remarkable as I waited for the 18 yr old son to wake up. We often went from dense fog to complete sunshine or from sunshine to dense fog and mist while he was snoozing. I hope to return.

Great NFLD trip

The house is accurately described. Beverley greeted us upon arrival with fresh fruit with crackers and cheese! Totally unexpected. We all enjoyed our stay. Great location on the water and within walking distance to restaurants.

Felt like coming home

Well appointed home that had almost everything that we needed. We had a problem with the WiFi but they were in the midst of resolving it and dealt with us quite fairly. We had lots of activities scheduled in and around Rocky Harbour and if felt like coming home at the end of each day. Lovely home and welcoming host. Thank you!

Great place to use as your base to explore Gros Morne

The house was easy to find, furnished beautifully and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. It was nice that each couple had their own bathrooms and each bathroom had a box of fancy soaps and lotion. The kitchen was well equipped and there was also an electric Bar-B-Q on the deck for our use. The backyard backed onto the bay and together with the small beach behind the house gave us an amazing view of the sunsets. There was lots of literature about the area as well as cds and dvds provided to us and Wi-Fi was excellent. The property manager, Beverly, met us promptly and was nothing but professional and friendly, patiently answering all of our questions. She even brought us bottled water the night before when the town was going to temporarily turned off the water for maintenance the next morning. Also the owner, Marcel, himself called to ensure that we were not put out by the temporary loss of electricity, also shut down by the town for maintenance at one point during our stay and to make sure we were happy with the accommodations. It showed us that he wasn’t just interested in running his rental as a business but as a home. We would definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful cottage

This is likely the cleanest, best equipped vacation rental we have ever had the pleasure to visit. Located in the charming village of Rocky Harbour, it is ideally situated from which to explore Gros Morne National Park. We loved being able to walk around the village to experience the culture and the food. Marcel and Ruth take great care in equipping their lovely cottage with books about local life, brochures and maps, games and pretty well anything a couple or family would want to add to their stay. In fine weather it is a pleasure sitting out on the verandah and gazing at the water and mountains. Walk down to the water at sunset and experience the beautiful colours playing on the water and the mountains. Gorgeous!

Once upon a time, a New Zealand woman met a Quebec man at the water's edge. They fell in love.

For a few years, they traveled a lot between New Zealand and Quebec to be together. One day, the New Zealander made Quebec her adopted home. She liked it there, but she missed the sea, so one spring she asked her Quebecer: "Take me to the sea". Wanting the best for her, the Quebecer took her to Newfoundland. They fell in love again, with Newfoundland.

For a few months, they traveled extensively between Newfoundland and Quebec to spend time together on the Rock (Newfoundland is often referred to as "the Rock" because the place is ... rocky, to say the least). It wasn't long before they wanted a pied-à-terre in their adopted land and bought a house on the waterfront. A loop had just been completed.

They'd like to settle there someday, so they could follow moose tracks in the snow in the winter, whales on the sea in the summer and Newfoundlanders at the pub the rest of the time. On that day, the New Zealander turned New Canadian will be a New Newfoundlander, and the Quebecer will be, well, a Quebecer.

In the meantime, they are happy to offer their home to people who share their interest in travel and adventure and who are not afraid to fall in love.
