Casa completamente renovada de alto nivel, con balcón soleado fuera del espacio habitable y terraza en la azotea con barbacoa, todas las instalaciones modernas, incluido aire acondicionado. 2 dormitorios con camas dobles y cama / baño separados en planta superior. Un baño y 2 aseos, amplia cocina integrada y sala de estar. La casa está orientada al sur / oeste con sol todo el día, pero aún es fresca debido a los gruesos muros de piedra. 200 m de supermercado, panadería, cafetería y varios restaurantes. Estacionamiento privado.
Tautavel es un pueblo vinícola francés típico con mucho encanto. Aquí te relajas, pero aún estás cerca de la costa con sus hermosas playas y todas las instalaciones que puedes esperar. Las montañas, los viñedos y los lagos de las montañas están justo afuera de tu puerta.
 Tendrá una persona de habla inglesa en la ciudad como contacto, en caso de necesitar asistencia.

Quaint home in a mountain village

We had a lovely time in the area with easy 30 mins to the beach or the mountains. The help and information from the hosts was excellent and the provision of the bikes was great. House was in a central location to the village with many amenities, restaurants and Boulangerie close by. Narrow streets could mean larger cars could find it more difficult. Lovely market on a Wed evening. Lack of air conditioning in the 2nd bedroom made sleeping more difficult in the south of France heat.

Lovely house, wonderful location!

Lovely cottage to stay in, fully equipped, wonderful location between mountains and sea. We also followed the hosts' excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit which were well worth it. Friendly neighbourhood and pleasant village atmosphere. Very smooth communication with the host. Would highly recommend!

Südfrankreichurlaub

Vielen Dank, dass wir im Ihrem Ferienhaus wohnen durften. Es war genau wie auf den Fotos, sogar noch besser. Wir haben oft das Frühstück auf dem Balkon genossen und manchmal auf der Dachterrasse geduscht oder gegrillt. Ein paar Mal sind wir mit den Fahrrädern gefahren. Direkt vom Haus aus haben wir mehrere schöne Wanderungen unternommen. Das Haus liegt an einem ruhigen Platz mit fast gar keinem Durchgangsverkehr. Nächstes Mal würden wir vielleicht Ohrenstöpsel wegen den Kirchturmglocken mitnehmen, so ist das eben in einem Dorf. Im Ort gibt es einen guten Bäcker, der jeden Tag offen hat. Die Küche ist wirklich gut nutzbar und die Klimaanlagen sind sehr angenehm. In der Umgebung gibt es viel zu entdecken von den Bergen bis zum Meer. Das Haus ist eine wunderbare Möglichkeit für einen schönen Südfrankreichurlaub.

Urlaub in Tautavel

Dank Inga-Marie und Kim hatten wir einen wirklich schönen Urlaub in einem ruhigen typisch französischen Dorf. Hier gibt es alles was für den täglichen Bedarf so benötigt, einen netten und guten Bäcker, einen kleinen Supermarkt, ein Café, eine Post, viele Winzer und einige Restaurationen. Zu den zahlreichen Stränden an der Küste sind es mit dem Auto ca. 36km. Für Familien mit Kindern sind diese allesamt gut geeignet. Leider war zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthaltes das Baden in nahegelegenen Fluss nicht möglich, da dieser wegen Verunreinigungen von den Behörden gesperrt wurde. Das Haus selbst wurde von den Vermietern liebevoll und aufwendig restauriert und ist gut ausgestattet. Die Sauberkeit hätte aber an der ein oder anderen Stelle besser sein können. Wir vergeben hier aber gerne die volle Punktzahl da wir in Tautavel einen wirklich schönen erholsamen Urlaub verbracht haben. Vielen Dank dafür!

Urlaub in dörflicher französischer Athmosphäre

Sehr aufwändig und schön renoviertes Haus in authentischem südfranzösischem Weindorf, ursprünglich, wenig touristisch. Sonnige und nicht einsehbare Terrasse über den Dächern von Tautavel, geschmackvoll möbliertes Haus mit vielen persönlichen und individuellen Accessoires - Wohlfühlambiente!

Lovely and very functional cottage in a fantastic small mountain village

We spent a fantastic week at this cottage in Tautavel. 2 adults and 3 kids. Tautavel is a lovely small mountain village with very friendly people, good restaurants and wines - especially we recommend Domaine Fontanel. The house is in excellent condition, and exactly to the description. The rooftop terrace provides a special view to the Tautavel castle ruins - and we also highly recommend hiking up there for a beautiful view. Pay attention to the house folders where the owners have put a lot of information and recommendations for sights and places to visit. One special thing we want to mention about the house: We have been using HomeAway and rented cottages and villas for at least 10 years traveling all around Mediterranean. We think that the household appliances, kitchenware and overall functionality of this cottage is the best so far. Very practical also - you will find everything you need for cooking. The owners Inger Marie and Kim are very friendly, and communication and all arrangements were very easy with them. So we give this property and their owners the highest rating of 5/5 and hope to be back sometimes in the future!

Great property in wine valley with mountain views.

Communication with Kim was easy and he was helpful with ideas for places to visit. The house in Tautavel was a real pleasure to stay in, very well equipped for visitors, with an extremely private sun terrace and a parking space. (A small hire car was useful as the roads are narrow). We enjoyed both the charms of the area and the design of the house. There was a striking lack of insects so we needed NO mosquito repellent, even at the lake (hard to believe but true!) The only thing to note is that the sofa-bed in the hall on the top floor was a little hot for sleeping as the air-con did not reach the top of the house. We won’t forget swimming in the lake or seeing a shooting star from the roof terrace, many thanks for sharing your space Kim and Inger-Marie.

Wonderful property in a lovely location.

Clear and easy to communicate with the owners prior to our stay - thank you Kim. A delightful property, modern and very well laid out. Found everything clean and very well maintained. Loved the roof terrace, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Strong Wifi and reserved parking opposite. We didn't want for anything. The village was well-served with several cafes and restaurants, a shop and a chemist - all within easy walking distance. Would unreservedly recommend this property and we'd definitely book again for a return to Tautavel and the surrounding area.

A beautifully renovated house in a wine village

In the centre of a village dedicated to wine, this is a stylish, comfortable and imaginatively renovated house that is finished to a very high standard. The private terrace at the top with wonderful views is a particular feature. The walking from the village is excellent, particularly through the vineyards to a lovely river/lake for swimming. The local shop is surprisingly good and the boulangerie is excellent (wonderful homemade quiches as well as bread), so there was no need to drive to supermarkets. Lots of wine to sample and buy direct from the producers. We followed a number of the owners excellent suggestions for outings (and eating) and this enabled us to reach places we would never have discovered ourselves. We very much enjoyed that Tautavel is a working village and although it has some good amenities, it is not given over to tourism. The house is situated very much within a thriving local community, yet designed so that you can have a great deal of peace and quiet.

Well situated, spacious and comfortable property

We very much enjoyed our stay in this property. It is very well appointed - everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The house is in a small square away from the main route through Tautavel and there are one or two good restaurants in the village. The swimming and walking in the area are really great.

Fantastic property, beautifully decorated, great!

What can't I say about this beautiful property!! The location was perfect for a real restful stay and yet you are only a short drive from the coast and the mountains. The house has been tastefully furnished and had all the facilities you would need to make your stay amazing. We loved spending evenings on the roof terrace under the stars eating our meals. The locals made you feel so welcome and the owners were great too, as this was our first time to the South of France and they made the whole experience one we will never forget. There are plenty of suggestions in the information folders within the house of how to spend your time while on holiday, we simply did not stay long enough!! oh well it looks like we will just have to come back!! Highly recommend this property.

Lovely House in Lovely Area - Highly Recommended

We spent a wonderful week in this lovely, spotless and very well equipped house. Spread over three floors and with two terraces we felt very comfortable and loved our meals on the top terrace under the sun or stars and with views of the mountains. There is just so much to see and do in the local area that unfortunately we ran out of time. We did the local river swimming and also found the waterfalls and visited several beautiful beaches and good restaurants. Tautaval itself is lovely and very friendly with good restaurants. We also visited the local museum based on “Tautaval Man”. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to fit in the wine tasting! The house and area are very highly recommended and the owners were very helpful with our booking - we were sorry to leave but intend to return soon!

We are a Danish couple in our mid fifties. Since we were young we have spent every summer holiday in France. We came to Tautavel for the first time in 1998, and we immediately lost our hearts to this picturesque wine village - we have spent every summer holiday there since.
We bought the stone house as a total ruin and had it demolished completely. All original stones, timber, beams and roof tiles were then used to reconstruct the house again. Therefore we now have a house from the 17. century, with a perfect position facing south/west on a small cozy square - 1 min. walk from "Cafe de la Place". It is renovated to the highest standards, and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Ps.: Our morning hint:
Jog, walk or bicycle through the wine fields to the mountain lake (3 km), jump in for a refreshing swim, on your way back, pass the bakery, buy fresh croissants and enjoy them in the morning sun on the balcony overlooking the square - a fantastic start to your day.

Tautavel is a beautiful wine village with several very good wine growers, who will offer you their wines. The town is known for its museum, as the oldest human being in Europe was found outside the village.
Tautavel is clean, well organized and so small that it still has the village atmosphere and charm, but also big enough to offer sufficient facilities. The river going through Tautavel offers very good opportunity for fly-fishing.
Let us mention the following:
Well stocked grocery with butcher, bakery, several cafés, 5 restaurants (incl. the best stone oven baked pizzas), local Doctor/pharmacy, free tennis and boule court, mountain bike track, mini golf, wine tasting, ATM.

Tautavel is close to:
The seaside with the best Mediterranean beaches, the Pyrenean mountains, several unique castles, mountain lakes (3 km outside town), hiking tracks, bicycle routes, river rafting, the worlds biggest go-cart track, water land, Perpignan, Barcelona (2 hours drive), mountain climbing and lots of good restaurants. In our house book you will find our experience about, and guide to, a lot of interesting places to visit in the area.
