Wortham House 3BR / 3 & 1 / 2b Gothic Carriage House Set en el jardín

Wortham House es una casa de transporte renacentista gótica de alrededor de 1823 (la más antigua de este estilo en Charleston y EE. UU.) Ubicada en el centro de una manzana detrás de una residencia privada de 1804 en el centro de Charleston. Ambas propiedades están en el registro nacional de lugares históricos.

Wortham House tiene tres habitaciones en el segundo piso, cada una con dos camas individuales (una de las cuales se puede convertir en una cama king), TV de pantalla plana y baño privado completo. La casa tiene capacidad para 6 adultos. La tarifa de alquiler de la casa está determinada por el número de habitaciones alquiladas. Uno puede elegir uno, dos o tres dormitorios. Las habitaciones no alquiladas están cerradas asegurando la exclusión de personas desconocidas para usted. El primer piso cuenta con un gran salón amueblado con gusto, perfecto para leer por la mañana con café y cócteles por la tarde. Una sala de polvo se encuentra adyacente al salón. Una cena en la cocina para seis también se encuentra junto al salón cuando se sirve el desayuno hasta las 9 de la mañana. En la cocina hay una nevera, un horno y un microondas para calentar los alimentos traídos a la casa. Lamentablemente, la ciudad de Charleston no permite cocinar per se.

Wortham House está rodeada de jardines galardonados publicados en múltiples revistas y libros. Recientemente ha sido reconocido por el Archivo Smithsonian de Jardines Americanos y el Jardín Conservatorio de los 25 mejores jardines de Estados Unidos en los EE. UU. Espacio en el jardín está disponible para cenar. Estacionamiento fuera de la calle para 2-3 autos está incorporado en el jardín.

Our stay in Charleston was so special at the Wortham House Carriage House. Betsy Johnson was the perfect hostess! A step back into time with an "old Charleston" ambiance; a lovely garden that is even more picturesque than the photos; and yet, well-maintained and clean furniture, bathroom, and amenities. This a completely and tastefully renovated "carriage house" feels like a home rather than a rental property.The beds are all single beds not conducive to combining into a king, but this was NOT an issue for our group of senior citizens.Our group spent the afternoons in the lovely garden having "sundowners" and soaking up the elegant and relaxing vibe.I can't imagine a better place to stay while visiting Charleston

Girls Getaway

From the minute we set foot on the beautiful Wortham House property, Betsy, our fun, informative, and charming host made sure that everything was above and beyond our expectation(s). She was waiting for us as we arrived and welcomed us to her beyond spectacular home and gardens. Pictures do not do the house or the gardens justice. Her home is decorated with beautiful antique furnishings. We enjoyed sitting in the living room with spectacular views of the gardens as well as congregating around the kitchen table in the morning over leisurely poured cups of coffee. Betsy’s home is absolutely spotless and it is obvious how she has earned her moniker of premiere host. It was our first visit to Charleston and it won’t be our last.

Absolutely Charming

The moment we pulled up to the driveway.. we were greeted by our gracious host, Betsy! She was so incredibly sweet and full of information. She showed us around the grounds and gave us a brief history about the property.. how she and her husband transformed it into a storybook abode. The Carriage house and garden were so inviting down to the last detail. We loved it so much.. our only regret was that we didn’t spend more time there. We can’t wait to go back!!!!

Charleston Hospitality

Our stay was Charleston hospitality at its finest. This property was even more lovely than described. Each bedroom and bath was appointed in beautiful Charleston style. The beds were comfortable and had the softest sheets ever. The entire home was impeccably clean. Bathrooms were refreshed daily. Our hostess was a charming Charleston lady who brought breakfast each day, shared stories with a sense of humor and grace and made us feel welcome like family. The gardens were thoughtfully laid out and neatly maintained. We all highly recommend Wortham House.lovely than described.

Wortham Carriage House is exactly as you see it online! Beautiful historic Carriage House that does not disappoint. The "gardens" are absolutely stunning reflecting the award winning recognition they have received over the years. The house is exquisite...only to be matched by the hospitality and kindness of the Owner who went over and above to accommodate all of our wishes to make our stay more comfortable...Betsy Johnson! A true Charleston gem! Gene & Betsy seem unassuming but…LOL

My wife and I were in the area for one week. The first 4 days for the Charleston Festival. The remainder, a beach stay at Folly Beach. We had 5 home/garden tours lined up. The problem was that Gene/Betsy’s carriage house & gardens were far nicer than ANY of those on the tours. A truly spectacular place! The carriage house was such a beautiful spot to stay and come home to each day. Betsy bringing breakfast each morning was absolutely delightful.It wasn’t until the second portion of our trip when we left their property and stayed at another vacation rental in Folly did we uncover Gene & Betsy’s dark plot to be such great hosts and cause us to miss them and their gorgeous house/gardens. Thus making a return to visit them in the future inevitable. Devious, Gene & Betsy! Devious!

Southern Charm at it’s Finest

From the moment we decided to come to Betsy’s home for our girl’s weekend to our arrival, it was truly a wonderful experience. The gardens, home itself, cleanliness of everything, full breakfasts and willingness to adapt to my one friend’s dietary needs and to share insights about the home and Charleston, was above and beyond. The location is perfect — loved being in a neighborhood, yet close enough to walk to King Street and more. We all would come back in a heart beat, and absolutely stay here again. Best Rental Ever!

We came to Charleston for a family wedding with our 3 adult children. The wedding was great but the experience at Wortham house made our entire trip one of the most memorable we have had. Every detail from the Southern hospitality to the Lucious gardens and charming antiques made our trip unforgettable. Our hostess Betsy has not missed a detail in supplying the home and made us all feel very comfortable.

From the time we arrived to the time we left we felt like we were living in another time in history. Betsy treated us like royalty taking care of our every need! Perfectly Splendid!

My friends and I wanted to experience the southern charm and history Charleston for a girls weekend. We are so glad we stayed at the Wortham House as a part of that experience! The house was beautiful and spacious, the gardens were breathtaking and Ms. Betsy was the perfect accommodating host. We especially enjoyed the breakfast provided. It was the perfect weekend and we only wished we had been able to stay longer!

Charleston Adventure

If you love old houses, antiques, a good location, and a fabulous garden this is the place for you. A great place to gather with friends. Betsy took care of every need we had and some we didn't even know we needed. Only drawback to the house - all the bedrooms are on the second floor which was not a problem for us but might be for some.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Wortham house. Betsy brought a wonderful breakfast every morning and made sure we had everything we needed. She even helped with suggestions on activities, as this was our first trip to Charleston. We would definitely recommend this property! Betsy will make you feel like family.

Wonderful and special experience

This Vrbo is quite unique as a beautiful carriage house ands manicured garden situated behind the main house. Betsy our house mgr brought hot breakfast each morning and attended to our every need. Beautiful antiques and a very special home.

When I booked this carriage house I had no idea what awaited my friends and I. From the moment we arrived till we left, it was a dream stay. Ms. Betsy was the most gracious and thoughtful hostess.
