Comfort in a barn

My family has now stayed in the white barn in both winter and summer and we could not pick a favorite. Everything about the barn is comfortable, from the personal check in to the easy as pie checkout and all of the comfy spots and things to do right on the property. This spot is a family favorite that we’re grateful to come back to.

What a fantastic property!

This home was clean, rustic, had a story to tell and full of collections to walk around and check out. The story of the barn is just one thing to explore. Our family loved the full outdoor basketball/volleyball/tennis court with all you need gave us hours of fun. The location was perfect - close to many options to explore if you want. We had no issues whatsoever but the owners are always available if needed. Planning to visit again!

Everything was great. Within a 30 minute drive of several courses (which was the purpose of our trip). Tons of activities at this place to keep us entertained. I wish there would have been a 4th bed, but it's clearly stated in the description that there are 3 beds and an optional air mattress. We'll be back

Stay at White Barn

The place was immaculate and cozy! Excellent full kitchen, amazing bathtub, washer dryer, and nice high end touches such as fancy soap. Interesting and well organized antique collections throughout. Plenty to do on the property (pool table, basketball court, fooseball, etc) and plenty of excursions within a half hour drive. Christi was wonderful! Would love to return.

Graduation weekend

The beautiful white barn is one of the most beautiful and unique places we have ever stayed. Attention is given to every detail and well appointed, everything you could need for a stay is supplied. Amazing, unique ,incredible !

We (4 adults and 2 kids) stayed in Beautiful White Barn. It's the best property we ever rented, it feels like home, so many details and hard work was put in to this beautiful barn. Very spacious and cozy, the outdoor space is delightful. The pool table along with the basketball court were two great ways to spend time with family. The kitchen was very spacious, super clean and stacked . Thank you Christi and Rod for letting us stay in the Beautiful White Barn, and we are already planning to come back in summer time.

The White Barn is beautifully transformed. Details throughout were amazing and a trip back in time with so many tastefully placed antiques! We had a wonderful time on the basketball court/tennis area! Grandson was disappointed with no internet, but he survived! Christi was amazing. Wonderful soaps, fresh baked muffins, and just so welcoming. Highly recommended!!! I am sure they are working on a walkway to the entrance and outside lighting which will make it even better! Loved our weekend!

Beautiful barn full of charm

We were three couples in the area to enjoy a mid-winter getaway in nature, nearby supper clubs, and look for eagles (some beautiful sightings!) along the Wisconsin River. The barn is perfection! Clearly a labor of love, loaded with charm. In the center of the space is a perfect circle of chairs and gas-stove fireplace. It was so cozy to sit around and chat, play games, shoot pool. The windows are large to take in the outdoor beauty and all the lighting is just right. The beds were cozy and comfortable. All bedrooms are in the open, it felt something like a sleepover. Bathrooms were as charming as everything in the space and equally spotless. The many thoughtful touches included delicious banana bread upon arrival. We highly recommend this!

Fun Family Sleepover

We were looking for a fun way to spend some family time and unplug - barn was the perfect getaway! Two separate lofts with beds allowed for some personal space, but kept us all together with a sleepover feel! Everything we needed was available (lighter fluid, matches, fire wood, bandaids, lots of kitchen supplies, etc.). Our kids really enjoyed the lighted sports court (tons of equipment available for borrow) and the pool table! The sun rises over the sports court and the many windows order a beautiful morning view! The barn is located in a secluded area away from the busy life. It was 25 minute drive to Devil’s Lake State Park, where we spent the day hiking, which was the perfect activity to match the family theme. I have stayed at lots of VRBO homes and this one was really fun!

One of the best VRBOs I have been in

This barn is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The photos are beautiful but seeing the white barn in person is even better. The hosts are incredible and truly treat their guests as family. Outside there are several outdoor seating options and the views are amazing. Every detail you want as a guest was thought about and implemented with great thought. We were a group of 5 ladies and each one of LOVED our stay. We will definitely be back! Some little touches we loved- Coffee bar Soaps/ shampoos and extra toiletries Clean, clean, clean!! Fully stocked kitchen Antiques throughout and little touches in each area( army men in box, bird on plate upstairs, collection of marbles, etc). Outdoor games that are at your disposal Christi and Rod are amazing!! The list goes on and on!!

3rd stay at the White Barn!

Our group was fortunate enough to have a third getaway to the white barn in Mazomanie, WI. We are a group of five women who really look forward to this weekend and property for relaxation and time together. The barn and the property is the perfect backdrop for this experience. We love the cozy living room with copious amounts of natural light, snuggly blankets and a gas fireplace. The kitchen and dining area is perfect for us, as we all like to cook together. We love the extra touches, with freshly baked muffins at our arrival, tea/coffee, a large selection of games, and everything else. Rod set up a fire for us outdoors one night, and Christi answered all of our questions, and made sure that all was perfect for us. Off site, we enjoyed hiking at Gibraltar Rock and Indian Lake County Park, antiquing in Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, and dining at Vintage Brewery. What a gem!

Unique, fun property in beautiful Wisconsin

We were in town for a graduation party in Prairie Du Sac so we decided to make a long weekend out of it since we love the Baraboo/Sauk Country region of Wisconsin. We have a family of 5 and didn't want adjoining hotel rooms. This property was so much fun and unique! It is a beautifully renovated barn near the farmhouse of the owners. It has two lofted bed areas (one with a ladder and one with full stairs) and a bed under the lofted bed with the ladder. So know that one of the bed areas is via a ladder. It is also all open so also know that everyone can hear everything, such as our 10 year old that wakes up at 6 a.m. The lovely bathroom is the only privacy in the main area. We easily adjusted to that. The kitchen is large and well stocked. The pool table is in the center of the great room, and provided much entertainment in addition to the various board games. Tons of seating at the dining table, kitchen island, couches and recliners. Cute balcony that overlooks the sports court. Downstairs offered supplies, outdoor access and another bathroom. The sports court was the reason we booked the property. We have a 12-year-old lover of basketball. The one side hoop lowers so our 10-and 8-year-old joined in on the fun. The owners did some work on the sports court while we were there, but we were on our way to Baraboo for the day so it didn't bother us. Access into the property is either via the lower level and up stairs, or walking up the hill and over some large rocks. You'll want to know this if you have someone who needs accessible access. The owners are hands on - they give you a tour and keys when you get there. They also live on the property in the main house. So you'll want to know this if privacy is a priority for you. They left us delicious banana bread and other treats and were readily available with questions so that was very nice. It was impressively clean and comfortable for being a barn house. I would highly recommend enjoying this unique stay. Within 10 minutes are great restaurants in Sauk City (Vintage Brewing) and The Rox (Pizza!). You are also only 25 minutes from all Baraboo has to offer such as Devil's Lake, Tumbled Rock Brewing, Circus World, etc. Dells is another 15 minutes north of that. Quiet and convenient.

The ultimate fix-er upper. The barn was constructed in the early 1900s in the German bank barn timber frame technique. The White Barn was repurposed in 2008 as a retreat location rather than serving its original purpose as a dairy barn. The entire renovation was performed with one ultimate goal in mind, that of maintaining the original integrity of the structure and spaces while modernizing its function. A dramatic, yet practical outcome was achieved. The end product looks and feels like a barn, yet allows for unique experiences for each event, family gathering or retreat.
