Great property in convenient location

This was a great property for a friends reunion this apart weekend. The home is updated and very comfortable and it is in an ideal location just 10 minutes from downtown. I definitely would stay here again!

Beautiful Home in Convenient Location

The property was very clean and well-appointed. The bath towels were especially thick and absorbent. The free coffee was a nice touch! The house is very conveniently located. It was a short drive to the restaurants near the baseball and football stadiums. The drive to Oakmont for the US Open was also pretty easy. We would definitely consider staying here again if we ever come back to Pittsburgh.

Beautiful, Spacious and comfortable home. The host were very responsive and accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. My family was there for my son’s graduation from University of Pittsburgh and having this place to stay added to the memories created.

Great place!

We were in Pittsburgh for a wedding. The house was perfect for our family. Lots of room to relax and hang out, neighborhood was quiet and we really enjoyed walking around and exploring the area. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend this property.

Excellent, very spacious house. We were 14 people. They provided us with extra air mattresses. Andrew provided excellent service, always very friendly. The bus station is very close, making it easy to get around by public transportation to the downdtown Something that surprised us was seeing deer outside the house at night. Highly recommended. Thank you, Andrew.

Perfect weekend vacation home

This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Pittsburgh. The home was clean and stocked with the necessities. There was plenty of space and very close to places we wanted to visit in the city. Any questions we had were answered immediately.

Lovely stay

Truly the house was better than expected. Spacious, great for the kids to move around. Play in the yard, walked around the neighborhood. Andrew, the host was quick to responsive to all my question. We will be back.

We were in the ‘burg for a family event. This property was perfect for our 3 generations plus 2 loveable dogs. Furnished and supplied with everything you need plus a nice welcome with the famous Sarris chocolate! Charming old home with fully updated kitchens and baths. Would definitely stay again! Exactly as pictured

This house is very charming, clean, and well taken care of. The host couldn’t be nicer. He was very attentive and helpful. They thought of lots of things that make traveling with a little one easier including a high chair, some toys, a crib with clean sheets and bedding and baby detergent by the laundry. Great Property For A Big Group

We were in town for a Taekwondo tournament, bringing our family and some instructors with us. The property had plenty of room and everyone had their own bed- which is hard to find for such a big group. The house has been remodeled from the kitchen to the bathrooms, and some of the character and charm of this older home was kept- which made it special. Communication with Andrew was on point from the beginning. He was ready to help if anything came up. We enjoyed our stay and were not disappointed with anything! Thank you again, Andrew, for your hospitality!

An absolute treasure.

It was a beautiful, old house that has been updated with classy, modern features. It slept our family of 11 very comfortably. It was near many tourist attractions in downtown Pittsburgh. Andrew, the manager was extremely professional and responsive. Problems were minor and handled quickly and excellently. The full kitchen was well equipped and saved us a lot of money. There was plenty of room to sit together and visit or to get away and be alone from the rest of the crowd. For a large group visiting the area, this was a fabulous choice, and I would recommend it highly.

Classic Pittsburgh home, great for families

This house is so classic Pittsburgh. The woodworking is beautiful. It has so much space, it can easily accommodate a large family or group. It was very clean, and the owner was very friendly and responsive. The only downsides we experiences were that the air conditioning does not reach the 3rd floor well (we were visiting during a heat wave, and there was a window unit in 1 of the 3rd floor bedrooms but not the other), and the internet is slow if more than 1 device is using it at the same time. The steps might be hard for young kids and older folks, but were fine for us.

40 in Pittsburgh

The inside is beautiful, spacious and very welcoming. There's an ugly leak above the 2nd floor toilet, that we really didn't notice until it started raining a lot , also a bit of hair in the master shower. The area is pleasantly quiet and the parking is convenient. There is no seating available outside but there's a nice bbq that we really didn't utilize. Would definitely recommend for a quiet getaway. The host was great & answered any questions we had immediately.

I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.

I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.

I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!

My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well. I also try to read a little (usually non-fiction), visit the gym as often as possible, and spend time with family and friends.

With its 2019 renovation, this historic Pittsburgh home provides modern comfort and conveniences while retaining all of its important original features. I love staying here as the quiet area is so nice to come home to, but still allows easy access to everywhere I want to go.
