Disfruta de uno de los secretos mejor guardados del Caribe. Después de vacacionar en St. Martin durante veinte años, descubrimos este lugar encantador y tranquilo y sabíamos que teníamos que llamarlo hogar. Ahora damos la bienvenida a los visitantes a nuestro paraíso caribeño. Disfrute de mañanas tranquilas con los pájaros cantando o dé un paseo temprano por la mañana o sumérjase en la hermosa playa de arena blanca de Simpson Bay, de dos millas de largo, directamente desde la terraza de la piscina, a unos pasos de nuestra gran terraza privada en la planta baja. Practique snorkel directamente en la playa, donde también puede practicar jet ski o kayak (o alquilar un yate por el día). Cada día es un fabuloso desfile de yates navegando a través de la Bahía de Simpson y todas las noches puestas de sol divinas. ¡El espectáculo de la naturaleza es realmente espectacular! Realmente nunca tiene que salir de la propiedad, pero echaría de menos la gran cantidad de excelentes restaurantes, casinos, gimnasios y otras actividades que nuestro "vecindario" tiene para ofrecer. Si bien mantenemos una política de cancelación firme, siempre nos complace trabajar con las personas en caso de que surja algo que haga que cancele.

Very pleased with everything

Had an excellent time visiting Sint Maarten. The condo was as advertised and close to lots of things. Johanna is very knowledgeable about the area and gives you everything you need to know to have a great time on the island. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to visit!

Overall the space was very nice. There were a few things that needed a bit of attention, but nothing major. It was wonderful to be able to step out our door to the pool and then just a few more steps to the beach and sand.

great location

The property is a bit old and could use some maintenance but the location is wonderful as is the access to the beach. My son and his girlfriend snorkeled right in front and found many fish around the coral. They even found a beautiful live conch shell and of course let it alone. You can walk from one end of the beach at Marys Boon to the hilton on the other end. It also had a wonderful garden on the side of the building with a nice breeze and plenty of shade if you want to get out of the sun. A block away are local eateries and bars. The owner and manager were endlessly helpful and the place itself clean and well equipped. We did have trouble with the dishwasher which was not fixed by the time we left. All in all good place to spend your vacation.

My wife, two daughters (19 and 17), and I stayed at this condo during Christmas week (December 24th through 29th). We really enjoyed the place. The location is excellent. It is in Simpson Bay (close to the airport) and close to many great restaurants. The Sunset views are magnificent. In addition, we saw beautiful yachts going in and out of the bay. Originally, I thought it would be better to have a condo at a higher floor but I’m glad we rented this one at the ground level. The view was great with very easy access to the beach and pool. It was very easy to run in and grab a drink rather than having to take steps. You can see planes landing from the veranda/pool. In case you are wondering about airplane noise, we didn’t find that to be an issue. You will hear some noise, primarily in the afternoon when there is more flight activity, but any noise gets drowned out by the sound of the waves. Even though it was considered peak time at the Island, we never felt crowded at the condo. Quite to the contrary. Most of the time, we had the pool to our ourselves. There were people on the beach but it was far from crowded. The apartment as well as the condo complex is well maintained. It seems like the pool deck was recently redone. We had a problem with the AC on the condo. We notified the local Manager (Marinka) and it was fixed on the same day even though it was a holiday in the Island. We really appreciated the quick response and attention. I debated whether to rent a car because you can walk to many restaurants from the condo. When we arrived, we took a cab from the airport (about $6 USD per person) but I did go back to get a car the next day to do some exploring on the island. Although there is a lot of traffic and the roads are not very wide, I found driving to be very easy. Although we would like to keep this place a secret, we highly recommend staying at this condo if you are considering a vacation in St Maarten. We communicated with the owner (Johanna) extensively via email. She was always happy to answer questions and provided tons of information about the Island. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

A few misses

We stayed at this property from 12/20 - 12/23. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). We had a mixed experience. The pre check-in and check-in experience was great. Owner was very prompt and detailed in her communication about the property and the nearby stuff. Manager was also quite responsive throughout our stay, but could not act promptly to take care of issues (details below). Location was great. Property is right on the bay, which cannot be beaten. The overall complex was well maintained and Simpson bay has the right mix of privacy and activities. Also, a ton of good restaurants/night life close by. Where the property missed the mark was the fact that a few things did not work. All of them are out of owner's control probably, but some of them are bothersome. First, the phone in the house did not work and the maintenance guy said the phone company had to come in. Didn't happen during our stay. A slight inconvenience, but not a big deal. We could manage with other means of communication. But the master bathroom shower and one of the sinks were clogged. When we notified the manager, she told us that the maintenance guy would be in the next day. But he did not come due to some emergency. Again, out of owner's control, but we were not notified of that and we had to call in again to find out. That was not good customer service. And when the maintenance guys finally came in, he repaired the sink, but could not fix the shower. Neither he nor the property manager knew how to get it fixed and so the master bath was out of commission throughout our stay. This was a big inconvenience esp after long beach days. But more importantly, there was neither acknowledgement of our inconvenience nor a more proactive attempt to repair it. It was like the owner and the manager were awol after they realized this issue was unfixable. It was let down, esp. after they were so prompt in communication when things were good. Anyways, I recommend folks ensuring all the stuff is in working order before proceeding further, Thanks,

A wonderful vacation

We had a terrific time during our vacation in St. Maarten, and this was in large part due to the great condo we stayed in. Staying here was so much better than a hotel, it was great to have space for our family to spread out and were so impressed with all the little touches - from the water and ice waiting for us upon arrival to having beach chairs and coolers available for us to use during the stay. Johanna said all we need to pack is our clothes and sunscreen - and she was right. The location of the condo was just perfect! We loved being close to the airport and it seems like you can get everywhere easily by car from Simpson Bay. We also liked all the restaurants located right in the area that were easy to walk, or drive, to. We had two children with us (ages 16 and 13) and they really enjoyed having what felt like their own private pool right off the deck. They loved ending their days with a late night swim. While the condo location itself is great, this particular unit is ideal since it's on the first floor and you're about two steps to the pool and just a few more steps to the Caribbean! Much better than staying on a condo on a high floor where getting into the water means taking an elevator ride. Johanna made everything so easy for us. From suggesting a rental car agency (and even calling them to make arrangements for us to return the car earlier than they normally open) to providing a wealth of information about the area, she couldn't have been more helpful! When you rent this unit you get the benefit of working with someone who is also a travel agent and provides a level of service that makes you feel like a valued customer. I look forward to returning to St. Maarten, and I know where I'll be staying when I do!

PERFECT PLACE!

The place was perfect, better than the pictures. This was a family trip w/2 teenagers. Everything in the villa was extremely nice quality. The linens on the beds and towels were so soft and comfortable. I truly enjoyed listening to the ocean waves at night. The kitchen was filled with everything you could need. There were items leftover from other guests that helped get us started before we went shopping- Alcohol, sugar, crackers, sunscreen…Plus we added to that when we left too. My girls loved the pool and the beach was steps away. Even though the beach was public there were not many people on it. It was all beautiful. Johanna was a pleasure to work with before we arrived. Very helpful with suggestions were to go and what to do. So SWEET and trusting. This is our second time visiting St. Martin and this trip was better than the last. We can’t wait to come back again soon.

Truly Heavenly

This is the 3rd time staying at this gorgeous slice of heaven. The condo is well appointed and literally directly on the most beautiful beach in St. Maarten. There is never more than a handful of people on a beach that if it were in the US would be packed ---- so you feel like it's your own private mile long beach! You can walk out your door into town to enjoy some of the best selections of food in the Caribbean. I felt safe and happy and returned home feeling re energized!!

Awesome!

Our first time in St. Maarten and first time in a Caribbean condo rental -both amazing! The condo was in walking distance to restaurants and shops and a short drive to the airport. A perfect beachfront rental; steps to the pool and beach. Excellent communication with the owner; she was always quick to respond and provided a lot of information about the island. We will definitely return and would highly recommend this rental property.

Beachfront Bliss indeed!!!!

This was by far the nicest place we have stayed at in our 12 visits to SXM. The best part of this beautiful furnished condo is the location. It’s right on Simpson Bay Beach and a 5-minute walk to Mary’s Boon and Karakter Beach Bars. The beach was very private and some of the best snorkeling is just a few feet from the beach. Also, there is an abandoned barge that is partially submerged just off shore and an easy swim with fins, which affords some spectacular opportunities to see a large variety of fish. The condo itself is perfect with two large bedrooms, extremely comfortable beds, 2 full baths, a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of dishes, cooking utensils and appliances. The furnishings are in great shape and very comfortable. We really did not spend much time inside during our two-week stay. Luckily, we had fantastic weather and most of our time was spent outside at the pool and/or beach. Though, the other occupants of this small complex share the pool and beach, and most of the time we were the only ones at the pool or on the beach. There is plenty of parking and we liked the security of the electric gate. We felt very safe and secure during our stay. We did visit a few other beaches, Friars Bay Beach, Le Gallian, Grand Case and Mullet Bay. We also visited Marigot and climbed the hill Fort Saint Louis, Lotiere Farms, sailed to Tintamare with Captain Neil aboard the Celine, diving in Grand Case with Octopus Diving Center, and took Bluebeard Charters to Anguilla where we met the famous Bankie Banx at his Dune Preserve. Bankie is a famous reggae star that has performed with Jimmy Buffett. Wherever we ventured, we always looked forward to returning the condo, enjoying a cocktail, watching the boats pass by and listening to the waves on the beach. It is truly a very peaceful and relaxing location. There are several restaurants that are close enough to walk to, although, we chose to drive. Places we dined at include, Pizza Galley, Jimbo’s, Pineapple Pete’s, Mary’s Boon, Karakter’s, Buccaneer Beach Bar, and the Ocean Grill on Wednesday nights for all you can eat ribs (YUM). For our farewell dinner we tried the new Sushiito Restaurant at the Princess Port de Plaisance casino. It was fabulous!! We truly enjoyed this trip to SXM more than any of our prior trips and are certain that is attributed to the accommodations, location, and the fact that we were dealing with a very informative, responsive and caring owner. TRUE Beachfront Bliss

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, well kept condo. Couldn't be closer to the pool and beach yet quiet and private. Very well located close to airport, car rentals and all basic shopping. Maintenance and management very accomodating. Our favorite attraction was the Phillipsburg Beachfront Promenade and shopping. We would definitely do it again and recommend it to our friends.

So Awesome!

We came out for an 8 day family vacation (3 adults). We had a tremendous time! This location is outstanding! Before coming out, we were a bit hesitant regarding the planes, but that was shortlived, as the planes didn't interrupt us at all. We liked being able to see the cruise ships, yachts, and sailboats come and go through the bay as we sat on our patio or poolside. It was so nice to be able to choose between the pool and the ocean, or a bit of both. Also - the area to the west of the condo is what we called "the park" was a nice surprise with tables and lounge chairs for snacktime, lunch breaks, mojitos (of course), reading, napping, playing cards. It is under the beautiful trees, and has a great breeze - we really enjoyed that space, and it seemed to be unusual for properties around to have that little added bonus. We toured the island and really felt lucky to be at this place, as it was much more green and lush than other locations. The convenience of the condo - with full kitchen, bathtub, wifi, housekeeping, pool, a/c, comfy beds, etc. etc. was great. The staff was there daily to tend the grounds and the pool, which were immaculate. It was great to have the ability to walk to the grocery store in 2 minutes, or go to "Atlantico" for morning baked goods, or a bit further down to other restaurants or beach bars on the water. It was nice to take morning strolls or swims. The sunsets were always amazing, and we made it a point to be home and on the grounds to watch the sun go down from the condo. If we had questions, the manager tended to them immediately. We had friendly neighbors that made it fun to visit with and compare notes on where everyone went off to for the day. This condo is extremely quiet and private. We felt like we had our own pool and our own beach. Johanna, the owner, was so great at providing information before our trip, and while we were at the property. She has a file full of local recommendations that were golden. We give it a big thumbs up! We would definitely come back here! Great place, great amenities, great location, GREAT!

Comfortable stay in great beachfront location

We were very pleased with this property. It is located on a long white sand beach close to the airport and shopping facilities. The apartment has two bedrooms and was immaculate with comfortable furniture and well equipped modern kitchen and bathrooms. The apartment is so convenient. It is on the ground floor of a small building, and you can park right outside the entry door. Once inside the apartment you can step out through a sliding glass door to a patio that overlooks the swimming pool and the beach. Two steps down from the patio, and you are poolside. Walk around the pool, and you are on the soft sand of a beach with a safe swimming right there. We stayed in a busy season but the beach was quiet and uncrowded. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves too. There's a dining area in the apartment but we preferred to eat on the patio with its loverly views of the beach water and distant yachts and even the occasional cruise ship. A couple of blocks back from the apartment is a main street that has lots of restaurants, bars, tour offices, car rentals, and the like. It's a small island and well worth exploring. We thought the apartment was ideal for our beach getaway from the frozen north. We especially appreciated the fact that it's in a small, quiet building, and not some huge condo with crowds milling around. The owner was responsive to all our questions and could not have been more helpful.

A Little Slice of Heaven

We (my wife & I & our two boys, nine & 12) stayed here for two weeks. This is our third trip to the Caribbean, our first to St. Maarten. We picked this place on the recommendation the friend of a friend, for which we will be eternally grateful. The pictures on the website don't do this place justice. The condo is situated right on beautiful and surprisingly deserted Simpson Bay beach. The most striking thing is the way you can step from the living room and onto the lanai, then two steps down to the pool deck and then two steps to the beach. Most days, the sea was quite calm and we had no compunctions about allowing our kids, under our careful supervision of course, to swim and snorkel there. The Condo is exquisitely clean and beautifully done. The kitchen has everything anyone could need . The washer dryer was a bonus but we never got to use it as the wonderful maid, whose services were included and came almost every day, did all of our laundry. The owner, Johanna, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. She's been a travel agent for 30 years and has been coming to St. Maarten for just about as long. She knows everything and everyone and willingly shared her knowledge with us. She made some fabulous recommendations for dining and recreation. She was even kind enough to arrange a rental car. Our first week we drove around quite a bit and visited the various beaches and scenic wonders, but by the time the second week rolled around, we hardly left the condo and its neighborhood. We didn't see the need, spending most of our days sitting by the pool underneath the sheltering palms. Our two boys played basketball at the public court just around the corner with ”local” kids when they weren’t in the pool or on the beach. The neighborhood is safe and everyone we ran into on our daily walks was friendly. The master bedroom looks out onto the beach and we slept with the lanai door open, enjoying the sea breezes and the comforting sounds of the ocean beating against the shore. My wife and I never slept better in our lives. I wouldn't hesitate going back nor recommending this condo to anyone seeking an idyllic island vacation retreat.

Relaxing and Beautiful

This condo is perfect for a family. We have two small children and they had a great time! Being on the 1st floor the pool is right off the patio (the patio gate locks which is great if you have little ones) so my husband and I sat on the patio and watched one child swim as the other took a nap. The condo is spotless and has all amenities that your own home would have. Being able to do laundry was so nice, we didn't have to bring as much luggage. This was really one of our best vacations and we have stayed all over the world.

My husband & I stayed for the week & wish that we could have stayed longer....what a view each day...all of the boats & gorgeous sunset..Johanna is just the nicest person to rent from....we felt like we were at home....everything is nearby....we come down to Saint Martin every year the same time & usually stay at the Royal Islander but because of Omar (the hurricane) our place was shut down for repairs....would not miss my vacation..... so found Johanna's place on Home Away & another great vacation!!!! If you are looking for somewhere to stay please don't hesitate on this one!!!!!
