Homesteader Cabin at Coliseum Mountain Resort

This spacious, 2 story Mountain Cabin features a first floor bedroom with a Full size bed and a second floor loft with a full size bed. Walk out the front door to a covered porch with towering views of nearby Coliseum Mountain.
The cornerstone of the Homesteader Cabin is it's wood burning stove in the center of the open - concept living room, dining room and kitchen.
A full side deck and patio area feature a gas grill, firepit and picnic table, for the ultimate in outdoor relaxation.
If indoor activities are more your style, the Cabin features full wireless internet and a flat screen TV with satellite service.
The Homesteader Cabin at Coliseum Mountain Resort is located right on the ATV/UTV Trail system and within walking distance of Coliseum Mountain. It is the picture book mountain escape for couples, a small group of friends, or a small family.
Within a short drive of David Thompson Country attractions like Abraham Lake and its famous Ice Bubbles, Crescent Falls, Ram Falls, Bighorn Dam and a host of area lakes and rivers, The Homesteader Cabin at Coliseum Mountain Resort is a popular "home-base" for many visitors to the region.
Internationally renowned Banff and Jasper National Parks are just a short one hour drive west with access to such popular destinations as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, the Columbia Icefields, Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls and the Banff and Jasper townsites right at your fingertips.

Lovely place. Tucked away in the mountains, close to plenty of fun hikes and wilderness adventures, as well as a pleasant little town full of rural Alberta charm. The cabin is closely adjacent to a couple other cabins so don't expect complete isolation, but that said, we never saw any of the other guests. Cabin was clean, pristine, and well-equipped with two separated sleeping areas, making it perfect for two friends traveling together, which was the case for us.Going to add my voice to the chorus of people praising Kurt, the property manager. He is incredibly sweet, generous, and attentive. Even helped us repair a flat tire! One other tip for guests: we stocked up on groceries before we came. The cabin has a fine kitchen, but there aren't any supermarket options in the area, so if you plan on staying a while, make sure you come prepared!

We had a lovely stay at Homesteader Cabin. It was our second stay at this lovely property - the first one being in the large cabin. We were happy to send our time with our 17 year old dog this time. This is beautiful and quiet location - yet close to a number of trails and scenic areas. Would stay again for sure!

We had an excellent stay at the Homesteader cabin! Kitchen was very well-stocked, beds were comfortable and there was lots of space for our family of four and medium sized dog. The woodburning fireplace and high ceilings created a lovely atmosphere for relaxing. The location is perfect to feel like you're in the mountains but only minutes from Nordegg. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing!

Booked a last-minute trip to Nordegg and the Homesteader cabin at Coliseum Mountain Resort. The cabin was clean and well-equiped with everything you would think you would need for a stay in the woods. The location was beautiful, quiet and cozy. There was plenty to do especially for the kids who didn't ask once for screen time and never mentioned once that they were bored. Kurt was so friendly and welcoming. We really want to go back and will do so hopefully soon!

Beautiful cabin and outside area. Located out away from lots of people but still accessible from pavement. A very important consideration for motorcyclists. Everything was easy to find and there were lots of extras including a full spice rack. Bed was very comfortable and pillows not too large. Communication with owner was easy and fantastic to fix a booking error. Check-in and out was clear and easy. A very happy stay.

Great stay!

A great cabin to stay at, close to amenities in Nordegg and close to hikes. Very cozy inside, had everything we needed during our stay. Owners were so nice and checked if we needed anything! It was a great plus to have our dog be able to come as well!

Cute little spot.

Our first time in Nordegg, great little community! Not much there but that’s a benefit. The cabin was cozy and well stocked, only a few minutes from town but still secluded! We will definitely be back to do check out the ATV trails in the area!

Perfect little hideaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My husband and I took his parents for two nights. One bedroom on the main floor (for them) and then the loft bed upstairs for us suited perfectly. The cabin was 100% clean and tidy. Plenty of spices and whatnot. Firewood provided for inside and out - with fire starter for both. It was warm and cozy. Kurt was very helpful in providing maps and explanations of where to head with our side-by-sides. I would absolutely recommend this comfy little cabin.

Cabin away from home

Beautiful cabin tucked back in the woods. This cabin had everything we needed. Great location to enjoy the hikes along David Thompson Highway. Thank you Canada for the memories.

They have thought of everything!! Just need your food and clothes. Cabins are cute and cozy. The property is clean big and well kept Our family and dogs had the best vacation, we look forward to coming again next year!

Peaceful beautiful setting amid the mountains in Nordegg

The property was so nice and private. House had everything we needed. The property owner had instructions for us at check in easy check in with a door code. The property owner even had dog treats for our pet Buddy. The cabin was so cozy and clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Definitely would stay here again.

Amazing

Our little family loved our stay. The cabin was extremely clean. It had everything we needed and more. The cabin is super close to hiking trails, lakes and to town. Kurt met us when we arrived and was super nice! He also gave us some recommendations on where to go for walks with our toddler. Check in process was super easy as well. We will be back!! Highly reconsidering

Beautiful!

Our stay was awesome! Check in and communication was a breeze. The cabin was clean and cozy with all the kitchen provisions you could need! (Tap water is potable but does have a smell so if that’s not for you, bring enough bottled water to last your trip! They did provide 4 bottles bedside) Kurt was welcoming and helpful with whatever we needed. It was one of very few well kept places that accepted dogs so it was perfect for us. Perfect location to Nordegg, Abraham Lake and all the hikes you could ask for without the crowds of Canmore and Banff. We’ll definitely be back!

Great stay nordegg area

sweet little cabin, on an interesting property. The owner was great and came for a visit to see how things were going, and Nordegg is such a great area for hikes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
