Bienvenidos a nuestra casa en el Bosque de Redwoods, naturaleza extraordinaria.

Quedarse aqui es gozarse de una Hacienda del monte, privada, lujosa, grande con vistas de cada ventana de los arboles de redwoods, las mas altas en el mundo. La casa enorme tiene salas (la biblioteca y un Sun Room) y dos salas para juegos. Hay ocho dormitorios (uno para el uso comunal durante el dia), cinco banos, una cocina de doble tamano y un comedor suficiente para 14 personas. Hay bellas decks frontando al sol, dos grilles, y un hot tub grande para relajarse en la noche viendo millones de estrellas brillantes. En el jardin hay sendas circulando piletas con Koi y los fuentes con bancas para descansarse y meditarse. Para divertirse, hay una sala grande con juegos de Ping Pong y Foos Ball y mas juegos, tambien rompe cabezas.
Descansandose uno inhala aire pura, combinacion de las brisas del oceano y de los redwoods, excelente para la salud.
Los pueblos de Fort Bragg y Mendocino y las playas se quedan solo unos minutos por carro y son las playas mas bellas de California. Los pueblos ofrecen restaurantes, gallerias de arte y ropa, museos, musica y cine, y hay barcos de pescar para rentar. Y las vistas del Oceano Pacifico son incomparables!
Hablamos espanol y con mucho gusto de asistirles con su visita.

A beautiful home that had room options to hang out in but the kitchen was the heart of the home. We used both stoves, both ovens and both refrigerators to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner and all the family helped in preparing our meal and there was room for more people to hang out in the kitchen. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen with all the dishes, pots and pans and kitchen utensils that we have seen. Delores, our hostess, was very responsive to any of our needs and made us feel very welcome. The location is set in beautiful redwoods and it is only a 5 minute drive to the coast where we enjoyed visiting Ft. Bragg as well as Mendocino where there are beautiful state parks and beaches.

Our host, Dolores was very accommodating & the home was perfect for our gathering of 14 celebrating a couple of big birthdays. We especially enjoyed the kitchen, dining room, library, & game room. Dolores guided us on a beautiful stroll through the property & a hike into the state park. We would love to return for another reunion!

This house was perfect for a week with our extended family of 13. Each of us had a bedroom we liked. There were several great rooms where we could all gather. The redwood trees around us were magnificent. There were various hiking trails nearby. We rent large homes regularly, and this was the best stocked kitchen we have found in a rental home. Dolores was always ready to be helpful. Overall, we were all extremely satisfied.

Wish we could give extra stars!

The house was very comfortable for 9 people in 6 bedrooms, lots of room inside & out to spread out and relax. Great hot tub, ping-pong, foosball, board games, tons of books, and lots of artwork to enjoy. Koi ponds, garden paths, benches, well away from the road and surrounded by countless acres of redwood forest. This is the most well-supplied house we've ever rented: plenty of dishes, quality pots and pans, spices, clothes hangers, extra towels, soaps, Ziplocs, cling wrap, bottled water, coffee filters... The kitchen is amazing, two cooking stations each with a Wolf stove, plenty of countertop appliances, and a breakfast table. Easy to cook up a feast even with a crowd in the kitchen. The dining room has one table for 8-10, another for 6. The host, who lives across the driveway and up a wooded path (close at hand if needed while not intruding on the house's privacy), was very welcoming and clearly put much thought into accommodating guests. Internet service was fine; some cell services (including AT&T) didn't work at the house. Ample parking under the trees. Location is great, 10 minutes from town with groceries, many different & surprising beaches, nice restaurants and shops. In 10 days we never ran out of things to do within 20 minutes drive, but also didn't feel overwhelmed trying to do too much. Don’t miss the Mendocino Gardens; check low tides for best tide pooling; if you have interest in coffee contact Thanksgiving Coffee about a tasting.

Yearly Family Vacation

We found everything to be very clean and comfortable. There were two very nice sitting rooms with plenty of seating. The kitchen was large with 2 ovens and a stovetop. One of the ovens had convection. The house was very well decorated and interesting with different art and cultures represented. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. All of the bedrooms had their own bathroom with showers. The dining room was very comfortable and plenty of room for our 11 adults. Dolores is very interesting and helpful. The history of the property is also very interesting. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Nice deck and hot tub also a fun game room with a ping pong table. Plenty of parking.

Outstanding Place to Stay Especially Large Groups

This house is better called a retreat. We stayed from Mon-Fri. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was amazingly well stocked and left us wanting nothing. Something we all liked was that there are plenty of separate spaces for large parties so that people can gather or have quiet time. The surrounding setting is lush and the decks are well furnished so many people can gather and enjoy the outdoors, beautiful landscaping and we all loved the fountain sounds. We would absolutely book again and have already talked about scheduling another trip. The host was so nice and took care to show and explain the house. She answered all our questions and we enjoyed our conversations. This house was great for our large friend and family group. Cannot recommend enough!

Gorgeous Forest Retreat

A friend and I celebrated our 50th birthdays this March at Dolores’ amazing property. We were drawn to her listing by the beautiful gardens, the peaceful setting in the redwoods, and the spacious home. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The weather was a bit cold while we were there, so we took full advantage of the fire pit and the hot tub. What a treat to soak under the stars! The house was spectacular too— it’s definitely not your typical rental! There is artwork and decorative touches everywhere, giving it a personal touch. We were a group of 13, and there was more than enough space for everyone. The beds were comfortable, and we had plenty of linens and towels. The highlight for us was the massive, well-equipped kitchen. We spent much of the weekend making group meals. We also hired a private chef recommended by Dolores to prepare a special 5-course birthday dinner the first night we arrived. The chef was easy to work with and came up with custom menu based on what we were interested in and what was in season. The dinner was amazing and made an already special weekend all the more memorable. Dolores lives on the property, so she was available if we needed anything. When we arrived, she gave us a tour of the house and property, and told us about its history. One morning, she surprised us with locally-baked pastries, which were delicious. She really went the extra mile to make it a memorable stay. Thanks, Dolores!

Awesome Retreat for Family

We could not have selected a better place to enjoy some quality family time with all five siblings and spouses for five days! Dolores was the most amazing hostess any group could want. From the welcoming and overview to the location and history of the house to the guidance on a hike to the special treat at the end of our stay, we could have not been more pleased! Beautiful spot

What a find. Plenty of room for our extended family and the grounds are gorgeous. Dolores was a super helpful host, giving us the tour of the property upon our arrival, including the history of the house as a commune. Our one bit of advice to her was a binder of instructions, hints, recommendations would be great so needn't call her to ask questions (she didn't mind, as she was right there on the property to help us.)

Slice of heaven

This is a unique home that is perfect for large family/friend gatherings. The property is rich with trees and greenery. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The rooms were perfect for our group of adults and kids. Dolores is the perfect hostess. Can’t say enough good things about this gem of a retreat.

Forest Retreat with fun for the Whole Family

Comfortable, secluded location. Three families + Siblings and their off spring ages 16 - 12. Spacious, lots of bedrooms and beds for everyone. Kitchen is SUPER very well equipped for any kind of cooking including BBQing in two large grills. Location is close to beaches, Fort Bragg and other recreational opportunities for the whole family. Can also hang out an enjoy the large hottub/spa or local trails through the forest.

Unplug and relax amongst the redwoods

Beautiful house and land to getaway from urban hub-bub and still have convenient access to necessities and touristy attractions in nearby Fort Bragg and Mendocino. We had a full house (14 guests) and still there was plenty of room to all congregate or find quiet space whenever desired. There was a variety of things for everyone to enjoy and our host , Dolores, was not only easy to communicate with about the house, she provided helpful suggestions about the surrounding area. Dolores set realistic expectations about phone service, which was important for the group. ATT network is limited on property, we were able to communicate by WiFi and iMessaging in the vicinity of the house. This is truly a place to unplug, and I really appreciated it :) I could go on and on…suffice it to say it was a wonderful way to spend a milestone birthday with family and friends. Dolores was an exceptionally thoughtful host.

A Stunning Retreat

Despite sleeping 8 and hosting 13 for meals, I still don't think we came close to spending enough time in all of the rooms and outdoor spaces at the home. The artwork is incredible and Delores spared no detail in the kitchen. This is the most unique and impressive home I've ever rented from VRBO and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to unplug and enjoy an immersive experience in a redwood forest.

Perfection

Our trip was very last minute and we honestly thought we wouldn't be able to find anything. But on my final search, Huckleberry Haven suddenly popped up and I grabbed for it After some communication with our wonderful host, Dolores, it was decided that she could accommodate our little group for a few days getaway in between two larger, longer rentals. We were very grateful. The location is perfect. Our group likes cold and hot, sunny and cloudy - and we had it all. Huckleberry Haven is inland of the marine layer, so we had slightly warmer, sunnier weather than right on the coast, but still close enough to everything we wanted to see. Very handy to Mendocino, Anderson Valley, Fort Bragg and north and of course, right in the redwoods. The property is an oasis for walkers, from the Zen Garden to the Tea House and all through the forest. And oh - those gardens! Silent, serene and perfect for relaxation of the mind and body. The house and decks are very large with plenty of places to congregate or slip off by yourself for a little alone time. Everything is well-stocked and the kitchen is huge; linens are soft, towels are fluffy and abundant and the beds were oh so comfortable. Thank you Dolores for a truly wonderful getaway!

Wonderful Stay in the Redwoods!

What a stunning home on sacred land. We celebrated several July birthdays and had a wonderful family vacation in Dolores' lovely home. Her care and attention to details made it all the more welcoming. The house is perfect for a large group. We made delicious meals in the kitchen, ate in the dining room and enjoyed the decks and comforts of the sunroom as a family. Everyone had a comfy bed. Dolores went above and beyond for each of us. Highly recommended for a large family gathering.

Spacious oasis among the redwoods!

Our group of 4 families stayed here over the July 4th weekend. We had booked it when it was newly listed with no reviews yet. We took a chance and glad we did. The property is amazing! The grounds, gardens, ponds and water features created a peaceful respite among the redwood forest. The house itself was spotless and huge! Some of us still got lost among the many rooms at the end of our stay. The artwork all around the house was like walking through a museum. There were plenty of linens/towels for everyone. The beds were comfortable, but the frames were a bit creaky. The spacious double kitchen was a huge plus for prepping meals for our big group. The wrap-around deck and outdoor furniture was great to soak in the fresh forest air and sun, plus the new hot tub for relaxing under the stars. The Traeger smoker was great, but could use a traditional grill as well. All in all, we had a fabulous time among good friends at this oasis among the redwoods. Dolores was a wonderful host, providing history of the property and was very responsive to our needs. We'd love to be back here again!

Lovely weekend getaway!

Our group of friends had a amazing Memorial Day weekend at Huckleberry Woods. The property was extremely clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the amazing artwork throughout the home and strolling through the peaceful Zen garden. The kitchen was spacious and we took advantage of the brand new grill. Dolores was a great host and helped us out with anything we needed. We especially appreciated her explaining the history of the estate with us. We'll definitely be back someday! Thank you!

It is completely surrounded by the majestic redwoods who nightly are misted by the Pacific Ocean fogs which the trees absorb transforming the air.
