Una casa de campo bonita, restaurada a una calidad muy alta hace solo 14 años. Magníficamente ubicado a solo 20 minutos a pie de Ramla Bay, la mejor playa de la isla y muy cerca de tiendas y la parada de autobús a solo 80 metros. 2 habitaciones dobles con aire acondicionado (se pueden configurar como habitaciones dobles), con dos baños de calidad (1 en suite), una pequeña terraza en el primer piso, una cocina comedor / sala de recepción también con aire acondicionado, WC, cuarto de lavado, TV y WiFi. La propiedad está acreditada por la AUTORIDAD DE TURISMO DE MALTA; LICENCIA NO: HPI / G / 0277. Esta es una granja muy antigua ubicada en un pueblo, en un pequeño callejón, con un carpintero local enfrente, Ta Carmela es la base perfecta para sumergirse en la vida local de Gozitan. La casa tiene una escalera de caracol, por lo que no se recomienda para niños pequeños o muy ancianos. Xaghra es una de las aldeas más grandes y concurridas en la cima de una colina, casi central en la isla, y tiene una hermosa plaza de la Iglesia con algunos restaurantes maravillosos. Xaghra es también la ubicación de los templos neolíticos de Ggantija (3600 aC), declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, a solo 850 metros de Ta Carmela.

Great vacation in a fantastic place

Wonderful and charming little farmhouse, even with seaview. Kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living room - everything was very nice, tidy, comfortable - just fantastic!

Great place with soul

The place is historical, beautiful and very comfortable. Located at the outskirts of old town but all facilities needed ale close. If you have a car it is easy to park in the neighborhood. We were very happy with the place. The house keeper and owners are very helpful and nice. We sincerely recommend the place.

The host was welcoming Carmen met us when we arrived even though it was quite late in the evening ( after 8pm). She showed us around the house and had left bread, cheese, olive spread, fresh tomatoes and milk for us. The house is an old converted farm house and is traditionally built in some ways but with lovely modern bathrooms and kitchen. It is well located to get a where in Gozo pretty quickly. Ramla beach the biggest beach on the island is just 2 kms away. We always found parking easily on the road just outside the house. The house is actually down a little alley way just off the road so much quieter than being on the road. Nice view from upper balcony down valley to ocean and beach.

Great stay at ta Carmela

We had a beautiful stay at this gorgeous farmhouse in Xaghra Gozo. We stayed for three weeks and the house was very clean and comfortable, close to all amenities including the piazza in Xaghra and Ramla beach. We very much enjoyed our accommodation. A big thank you to Jane and Carmen for their communication and support.

First time Gozo

Fabulous property - very high standard and plenty of space. The house has been finished beautifully with amazing bathrooms and everything you would need. Our stay was peaceful and ideally located close enough to walk to local bars and restaurants We enjoyed trips to nearby Victoria and Xlendi I would stay here again.

Excellent Accommodation

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Ta Carmela in what is a fabulous farmhouse. The property is both spacious and furnished to a very high standard which was well above our expectations. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday and we would not hesitate in booking this fabulous house in the future. Excellent communications from beginning to end.

Beautifully restored stone house, perfectly located

Down a quiet side street a short walk from the centre of the small town of Xaghra, this is a beautifully converted old house & thoughtfully equipped. Gozo is so small that nowhere is far from where you're staying, but with a car, easy to reach the beaches at Mgarr-ix-Xini (amazing snorkelling & diving, nice fish restaurant) Ramla Bay (sandy & good for kids) & easy walk to restaurants/banks/food shopping etc in Xaghra; close to ferry from Malta too. Very laidback, relaxing holiday all round!

Converted Farm House in Gozo

We had a lovely time in Gozo renting this lovely converted farm house. Kitchen dining living room area are downstairs. Leading uptairs with a spiral staircase to the rooms and terrace with sea view. The house is very accessible to bus which is around the corner 2 minutes walk and you can explore Gozo. 322 bus to Ramla Bay and 307 to Capital Victoria, where can get conning busses to other part of Gozo. We had a lovely time exploring Gozo.swimming in the sea everyday, dining at the locaL traditional restaurant tar

Unique stay in Gozo farmhouse

My wife and I stayed at the farmhouse for a week in September and our daughter, a student in Gozo, joined us for much of the time. The farmhouse had been tastefully renovated and decorated and is well equipped; we particularly appreciated the welcome package and the Nespresso coffee machine! Communication with Jane ahead of arrival was easy, and check in was straightforward, despite our arriving in Gozo much later than we had anticipated. Gozo is a beautiful island and has much to offer. We were lucky that our visit coincided with Xaghra’s annual feast, and we enjoyed meals and fireworks at the town square. I would highly recommend the farmhouse and would have no hesitation in booking a future stay.

Special, characterful old property

We loved our holiday in Gozo and had an enjoyable stay at Ta' Carmela, a super old farmhouse which has been very well-equipped and tastefully furnished. We explored Gozo by car, by bus (the buses are great), as well as on foot, and we enjoyed walking from the property down to Ramla beach as well as relaxing at the cafes and restaurants in Xhagra town square (particularly Latini and Oleander). The Lighthouse supermarket in town has everything you need. Be aware that at the property there can often be noise, especially in the morning, due to the enclosed area and nearby roads. Please also update directions to the house to show that The Segond hotel is the nearest landmark as this would have helped us when arriving by car.

Xaghra Restored Farmhouse

We did like this property but found it very dark and cold. We understand this is to keep it cool as weather can get very hot. The only oudoor space was a very small terrace which just fitted a table and 4 chairs. It wasnt very practical if u wanted to eat al fresco as you had to try and balance food and drink on a tray while negotiating a steep steel spiral staircase. We did like the area and would spend most evenings in the local restaurants in the square which is only a 15 minute walk.

Absolutely Wonderful !

What an absolute gem of accommodation. We loved the location away from hussle and bussle but convenient to access other areas of Gozo as bus stop just around the corner which we used to visit Marsalforn a busier town/harbour (great evening eating by the sea) and Victoria the capital (to spend half a day at the Cittadella) . It is only a 10-15min walk to the quiet town square of Xaghra with a few restaurants. The 2 recommended by owner were lovely food and service. Beautiful beach Ramla Bay 20min walk away down hill but a very steep climb back up which we opted to do to burn off some calories from all the tasty food and drink on the island plus beautiful views but you can get buses and taxis there is also good beachside food available at 2 cafe/restaurants. Easy walking distance as little as 10mins to Historic temples, windmill and caves. We will definitely return to this perfect holiday accommodation and destination as it had everything to offer for a perfect holiday for us !

Very beautiful, some flaws

We rented the house for one week in late October. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived, we even found some fresh food and wine (obviously prepared for us) in the fridge. The house is very beautiful with its old farmhouse charm and tastefully decorated. There is enough room for 4 people. A nice patio provides some outside space. However, there are also some flaws. A major problem is the wood workshop just across the alley (about 20m from the bedroom windows) that starts its noisy work at 7 a.m. on weekdays. The location app. 15 min walking distance from Xaghras town centre (recommendations for the pub 'Rubble Bar' and the restaurant 'Oleander') is ok, but does not give the expected ease and reclusiveness. Unfortunately, there is no garden and even the view from the little patio is quite restricted. The partition in a small downstairs kitchen/living room area and the upper floor with two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suit) only connected by a steep and narrow spiral staircase is not optimal. Kitchen equipment was sparse. The price of about 800€ for one week off-season can be considered high.

Die Wohnung war wie im Internet beschrieben und eigentlich schön ruhig, leider renoviert der Nachbar gerade sein Haus und es gab am Abend ab und zu ein bisschen Lärm. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Urlaub.

Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen

Das Haus ist in einer Sackgasse gelegen. Parkplatz findet sich immer in der Nähe. Die Kommunikation mit Carmen lief hervorragend und das Haus war in einem einwandfreien Zustand. Zur Begrüßung fanden wir mehr als ausreichend Lebensmittel, Wasser sowie Kaffee und Tee vor, um nicht sofort einkaufen zu müssen. Die Aufteilung bietet Rückzugsmöglichkeit und das tatsächlich etwas dunkle Erdgeschoss ist mit unglaublich vielen Beleuchtungsmöglichkeiten ausgestattet, die eine tolle Atmosphäre schaffen. Die Küche ist großzügig ausgestattet, nur Geschirrtücher fanden wir keine, aber dafür gab es ein Gestell zum Trocknen. Der kleine Bonus sind nette Nachbarn, die sehr hilfsbereit waren. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke an Carmen und die Vermieter!

Schöne Stadtwohnung in schöner Lage

Die Wohnung wirkte etwas anders als auf den Bildern, war aber nicht minder schön! Zudem war sie sehr sauber ! Man braucht vor Ort kein Auto, da man viele schöne Orte super zu Fuß erreichen kann und auch die Busanbindung super ist! Wir waren das erste Mal auf Gozo und fanden es sehr schön! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Nous avons adoré cette farmhouse magnifiquement restaurée, équipée avec soin. Tout était prévu pour accueillir les locataires : linge de toilette en nombre, serviettes de plage, mouchoirs .... Nous avons aussi aimé la petite ville de Xaghra, ses restaurants et sa situation centrale dans Gozo.

Schöner Urlaubsort

Wir genossen einen schönen Urlaub zu viert in Ta Carmela. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön eingerichtet und entsprach dahingehend den Beschreibungen im Internet. Leider wirkte es im Erdgeschoss durch das Gemäuer auf uns recht muffig - dies könnte aber an dem längeren Leerstand nach der Coronapause gelegen haben. Nach einigen Tagen Lüften wurde es auch besser. Da es während unseres Aufenthaltes sehr heiß war, waren wir sehr froh über die verfügbare Klimaanlage! Die Kommunikation nahmen wir zwischendrin leider etwas holprig war. Zunächst warteten wir eine Weile auf Antwort, die dann aber mit umso mehr Informationen noch kam. Kurz vor Anreise erreichte uns dann die Information, dass wir noch einen Pfand überweisen müssten - das hätte man etwas früher kommunizieren können. Insgesamt konnte aber immer alles geklärt werden. Xaghra ist ein schöner kleiner Ort. Besonders genossen wir die Abende am Dorfplatz, zB in einem der Restaurants oder Bars. Auch die Nähe zum Ramla Beach (zu Fuß ca. 20-30 Min) ist super. Wir waren häufig gegen Abend für die ersehnte Abkühlung dort.

Wow, Wow and Wow!!

That sums up our stay. My wife and I are both experienced international travelers. Our home away from home was amazing. Completely updated, beds were super comfy, location in Xaghra was awesome, 10 minute walk to town square with all the restaurants. Communication with Jane was excellent, very prompt response. Carmen was the best! Went out of her way the entire time we were there. We will definitely be back!

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung für Frühaufsteher

Diese schöne Ferienwohnung entspricht den Bildern und der Beschreibung. Die Vermieterin und die Verwalterin vor Ort waren sehr hilfsbereit. Leider befindet sich direkt gegenüber eine Schreinerei, in der Montag bis Samstag ab 8:00 bei offenen Türen gearbeitet wird. Es ist deshalb während der Arbeitszeit in allen Räumen und auf der Terrasse sehr laut. In der übrigen Zeit ist es angenehm ruhig. Hat uns nicht gestört, möchte ich aber erwähnen. Die oberen Zimmer (Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer) sind über eine offene Galerie erreichbar. Auf Wunsch wird dort ein Sichtschutz aus Bambus angebracht.

Perfect family holidays in nice domicile

Ta'Camela has been a perfect home for our family holidays with 4 persons to discover the nice island. We've been living among the Gozitan people. The house is proper, well equipped and exactly as described. So we all recommend Ta'Camela home and would like to come back one day.

Clean, cosy, authentic in a friendly neighbourhood

We spent a very comfortable week with our two adult children. There was plenty of room for all of us, with lots of space to sit, bathrooms, books, guidebooks etc. The welcome pack was much appreciated (although we struggled to find capsules to fit the coffee machine when we needed more). It was very useful to be so close to a bus stop as we used the bus most days in order to get to different parts of the island for some long walks (good walking guides in the farmhouse). Meanwhile our children enjoyed walking up and down most days to Ramla Bay, rewarding themselves with the excellent ice cream sold by the van there. The information sent to us before our arrival was helpful, although it would have been useful to have had some foolproof instructions on how to walk from the village square to the property (as well as the driving instructions from the ferry). We arrived in Mgarr after a very early morning flight and the friendly taxi driver took us to the square to have lunch because it was too early to check in. He confidently pointed out the direction we needed to walk to find where we were staying, but it turned out to be the opposite direction. It took us about an hour to find our way there, eventually with the help of Carmen the housekeeper. Once we were less sleep-deprived we realised it was actually a really easy 15-20 minute walk in almost a straight line. We felt, briefly, that we were part of the local community, having happened upon the lampuki festival held just down the street on our first night, and with nightly exchanges of "good evening" with the locals we encountered sitting out as we walked to and from the square. Both the farmhouse and the island were fantastic and we have no hesitation in recommending it to others, especially anyone with adult children.

Beautiful house, full of character

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house has been very tastefully restored and is constructed of lovely Gozo stone. It would not however be suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to the spiral staircase. It is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. On our arrival there was a very handy welcome pack...especially the bottle of wine! The locals are warm and friendly. Gozo is a small island so you are never very far from anywhere but personally I would recommend having a car as you can see so much more than on any organised tours/sightseeing buses. We would have no hesitation in recommending it.
