La "casa de playa", como la hemos llamado acertadamente, consiste en un balcón privado con vista al lago Christine, playas de arena blanca, el golfo de México, East Pass y los muelles; Con frecuencia se ven barcos navegando por las aguas. Relaxing Gem

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my first visit to the Islander Resort. It was just the relaxing retreat I needed after a busy summer. The month of August is an excellent time as the seasonal crowds were absent and the weather was excellent. Our condo was extremely comfortable with everything we needed. The resort property was well maintained and extremely neat and clean. Location was perfect with walking areas in this mostly residential neighborhood and lots of white, sandy beach for sunset walks. I would highly recommend this property and the unit for a relaxing week of surf and sun.

Wonderful Destin-ation

The property was wonderful and just as advertised. It was within a short walk to the beautiful beach, and within a short drive to all the tourist attractions on the main road. Our family had an amazing time and will definitely be back in the future.

Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time here, but first time booking through the Islander. Everything seemed ok until we had to get ready for bed our first night. The mattress for the bunk bed trundle was filthy. The bunk bed mattresses were worn completely out and hard as a rock. The pull out sofa bed was broken and springs nearly showing through the mattress. We had to place blankets over it in layers and pillows under the pullout springs to keep the bed up and comfortable enough for someone to sleep on it. On the second day, maintenance had to replace the toilet in the main bathroom because it was leaking to the floor beneath us. The hot tub on the west end was dirty and did not stay hot or have working jets until the last two nights we were there. The plus was the location and views and, they did provide beach blankets and lots of board games. Overall the room worked for our party of 6, and we did enjoy ourselves regardless of the issues as we weren’t in the room very often. We will come back but will stay in a different unit.

Unit 516 is comfortable. It has all you need in the kitchen. The baths have been upgraded and the washer/dryer are certainly an added convenience. The sunsets are unbelievable. Only 10 months til our return in 2025!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: In years past nobody has ever kicked us out of the pool at 10pm. Swimming freely at night under the stars has always been one the biggest draws to the islander but unfortunately now after paying over $3300 for the week we're told we can't even use the pool freely anymore. I'm sorry but this was a huge bummer and will definitely be a deciding factor if we return or not. There are no lifeguards during the day anyway so there is no difference plus people end up sneaking in all hours of the night anyway. It's a rediculous rule to try to enforce in a place where people want to be free and relax and enjoy the money they spent there are lots of pools in Destin, I ll have to find one that allows us to be American in America.

First time visiting Destin

We absolutely loved the condo. It was so relaxing being inside. It was so beautifully decorated, clean, roomy, beautiful beautiful water, harbor, jetty and sunset views. It had everything we needed and then some. We appreciated the comfortable beds, full size bunk beds with a trundle bed, and the fold out couch which was so fun for movie nights. My only complaints would be the lack of elevator on the north end of the building (not the particular condo’s control), how competitive it was to get a front row seat on the beach in the morning (even arriving at 0640 wasn’t early enough), and how loud some of the guests were in the grilling pavilion area each night. Fortunately the patio door completely closed out all sound, it could only be heard when I was trying to relax on the balcony. I knew in advance to bring our own paper towels, toilet paper, hand and dish soap, and laundry detergent, so that wasn’t a huge problem. We flew in so I packed a few extra TP and TP, dishwasher and laundry tabs, and bought the liquids when we got there. The local Target and Dillons type store had everything very handy for short term visitors.

First time in Destin

For our first visit to Destin, this condo was in the perfect spot! It was right in the area with all the things to do and see. Was busy but we expected that for this time of year. Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend!

Appreciated having a full kitchen and the washer/dryer. Kids had a blast at the pool and beach, and enjoyed the available pool and beach toys. Fantastic water views of the Gulf, the inlet, and Lake Catherine. Great location. Enjoyed the Harbor Boardwalk and fun activities like the Pirate cruise. Grateful of all the nearby eateries especially for quick eats at Merlin’s pizza. Will definitely return to the Islander!

My only suggestion is this unit is in desperate need of replacing the king mattress in the larger bedroom! Adding a few new sauté pans for eggs & bacon would be awesome too! Otherwise, it’s a great unit, great views, and was very clean. The kitchen also has both a regular coffee pot & Keurig machine which is nice! We’ll be back!
