Gorgeous Stay

We had a great stay. Ferndale is gorgeous with lots of opportunities for nature citings and hiking the Lost Coast. Hosts were gracious.

The check in process is was SO easy. The room was beautiful and clean and very well stocked. We enjoyed the muffins and cereal that was offered and we were very surprised to see that they even stocked milk. It was also conveniently located to where we needed to be. Overall, great experience. Thank you.

A very peaceful and tranquil experience close to the Redwoods

Loved our stay here at the Carriage House. The studio was comfortable with antique touches throughout. The Hosts, Gail and Glenn, think of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. From home made granola and muffins to stocking the fridge with local micro brews. Plus helpful hints on what to do and what to see.

Best VRBO experience ever!

We have stayed at VRBOs all over the world and all of them have been wonderful but our extended stay in Ferndale was exceptional! The studio was beautifully appointed and very comfortable and quiet. The grounds were lovely and the pastoral views, particularly the sunsets, were extraordinary. Our hosts, Glenn, Gail and Alicia were very attentive providing many little extras that made our stay cosey and homey. This is a perfect place for a relaxing coastal sojourn!

Carriage House Luxury

What a beautiful and wonderfully inviting place to be based for 2 days and nights exploring the upper coast! There is not one overlooked detail, from the multiple choices of locally roasted coffee, to the fresh fruit and veggies, to the fresh milk/eggs/refreshments in the fridge. We thoroughly enjoyed the Victorian bath and all its nuances and amenities. Food in Ferndale was wonderful as were its residents. I am a “been there, done that” kind of guy but would not hesitate to visit if ever I am in the area again.

The Hosts with the most

We stayed here because we were visiting Ferndale and leaving for the Redwoods. The Heirloom Rose was gorgeous. From the layout to the antique hardware. It had plenty of amenities. Location was great for Ferndale. We got to meet our host Gail. She was very pleasant and showed the rest of the property. She gave us plenty of details of the building and the best recommendations for our upcoming travels. From Wedding Rock to Trinidad. If we are ever back again we will use this location.

Traveling Pharmacist

I want to thank you for a lovely 3 month stay at the Carriage House Heirloom Rose studio apartment in Ferndale, CA. The Victorian decor is beautiful and the apartment provided a safe, quiet and serene retreat each evening after work. The hosts, Glen and Gail are very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate my work schedule, which I very much appreciated. Linus, the orange tabby cat, wise beyond his 17 years (and the eight lives that he has used up) escorted me around the beautiful grounds, complete with blooming roses and a myriad of other flowers and foliage. The pastoral landscape with the mountains and cattle in the distance added to the peacefulness of the area, much like would see on an artist's canvas. Linus also introduced me to his two female deer friends and their fawns...absolutely enchanting. I will miss the serenity and peacefulness of Ferndale, the people, and Linus perched high up top of the fence posts surveying his kingdom and awaiting my arrival in the evening when he was not pursuing other more exciting adventures. I highly recommend choosing the Carriage House for a short of extended stay, you will be glad you did. Sincerely, Traveling Pharmacist Linda

Paradise in Ferndale CA

I recently attended a wedding in beautiful Ferndale. I was so pleased to find the Heirloom Rose studio located very close to the wedding venue. I just wished I'd been more clever in my planning and booked some extra days! Everything was perfect, soups to nuts...ease of booking, excellent directions/instructions/communications from the hosts, beauty of the location and the pastoral setting. The studio is breathtaking with antiques, top notch kitchen/cooking equipment, local products, extremely comfortable bed and linens, fast wifi...truly, a welcome and rejuvenating retreat! Additionally, maps and recommendations were provided for reference which I greatly appreciated as my time there was limited. I will be back!

Pastoral and beach and Victorina town.

Really nice quiet town with a hiking trail above, small unique shops, great food, ocean access nearby. The hosts are renovators and builders and ornament makers and rose growers focused on Victorian era appearance and hospitality. Breakfast treats were provided and the pastoral setting was a favorite for my friend. Lots to do in short drives up the coast if you stay for a few days.

Beautiful Victorian Suite

The hosts have done this beautiful property in a Victorian motif, to go with the Victorian town of Ferndale, CA. From the living space to the bathroom, every detail has the early last century charm. The hosts are generous and welcoming, leaving items to start your mornings from muffins to granola to eggs, even milk! Do yourself a favor and if every visiting the California redwoods, an unforgettable experience, book this property. You'll be glad you did!

Perfect escape

The carriage house was the perfect apartment for my stay while I completed my 3 month work experience. It is quiet with cows all around making it ideal to relax after working all day. Would definitely recommend for both a short or long stay.

Serene comfortable stay

The studio was very comfortable with large windows allowing a lot of light. It is on a side road facing a beautiful pasture; great location and very quiet. Kitchen was well-equipped and well-stocked. The hosts did a great job making us feel at home.

Beautiful property, enjoyed our stay

We had an amazing two night stay at this beautiful property. The room is quaint, very clean, and there were goodies left for us to enjoy. The property was very peaceful, we were surrounded by fields, cows and deer, and they have a lovely garden. We felt very welcomed, and a bit spoiled. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely Wonderful

This place and the hosts are amazing. They thought of everything. The cottage was clean, quiet, well stocked and wonderful. If we could have, we would have stayed longer, but the real world was demanding our return. The cottage has the most comfortable bed and the futon was just as good. The fresh air, sunsets, everything was perfect. Will definitely stay there again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better VRBO. They thought of everything, very clean and classy. Beautiful views from the large windows. Easy access and close to town. They adhered to the covid guide lines. I will definitely stay here again.
