Beautiful home, decor, surroundings, very peaceful and relaxing. Home is very spacious, comfortable furniture and beds. It was perfect for our adult family of 6. Almost everything you need is supplied. Definetely recommend and would stay again.

Annual getaway with friends

We three 50-something women throw off our responsibilities for a week each summer and stay at this lovely ranch. This was year four for us. We spend hours in the pool, at the kitchen table, on the couches talking, eating, laughing. Getting away from it all is the point, and Southern Star Ranch offers us that.

Beautiful, Comfortable and Well-Appointed

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We appreciated the efficient air conditioning in the Texas summer heat. The outdoor spaces are incredible and the pool and outdoor kitchen are perfect for family gatherings. I highly recommend this property and will plan to stay here on future visits to the area.

An amazing place to get away from it all. We swam 2-3 times a day, BBQ’d steaks, and enjoyed all this home had to offer. Close enough to go to Houston easily, or even the beach. The owners were great and easily contacted if there was a question. We will be back.

Perfect Getaway!

We had an absolutely perfect stay at this stunning country property! The outdoor kitchen was a dream—fully equipped and ideal for cooking and dining under the stars. The oasis-style pool was the highlight of our days—private, serene, and beautifully designed. Every detail of the home was thoughtful and made us feel completely relaxed and at home. We can't wait to come back for the third time!

Southern 5-Star Ranch

Absolutely beautiful backyard with scenic view, pool, fire pit, grill and smoker. House was so clean and comfortable. Amazing beds and huge kitchen. Very convenient to Houston area or Brenham area. Easy to find but set aside in the quiet country. We will stay again!

Beautiful and tranquil

The home is on a beautiful piece of land. It sits back off of the road like an estate. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed early mornings drinking coffee on the pool deck. We even seen a deer! Would definitely recommend. The host was so kind and accommodating. 5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely Wonderful!

We had a great stay. The property is absolutely beautiful, and just secluded enough to be extraordinarily peaceful. The host was an absolute pleasure, very easy to communicate with. Her mother met us to show us around, and she was a total sweetheart. The home was immaculate! The home, the property and even every single dish and utensil. We’ve stayed at a lot of B-n-B properties, this was the cleanest by far. We would absolutely stay here again! We can’t wait until our travels bring us back to the Houston area!

Leadership Retreat

We love this place! This home is absolutely beautiful. We were met by the Owner's mom who was the absolute sweetest. She gave us a tour of the property and how everything works. We held a Leadership Retreat for our Leadership Team for the Black Heritage Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.The amenities and space were perfect. We will definitely be back with our family. The home was clean and if you forgot anything, trust me they have it! Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Grandma trip

This is our third visit to this amazing property. Have traveled here with friends in past but this time brought 11 year old grand daughter. We had a great time. Wonderful views great pool and lots of fun. Great host and hostess . This is a great place to stay and we travel allot.

What an amazing property. My brother and I flew in for a family function. We were greeted by Madeline, who was great and gave us a quick tour of the property and made us feel welcome. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you may need for your stay. We found ourselves spending most of the time we were at the property in the outdoor space, the pool and outdoor kitchen are amazing.

Great, easy stay less than an hour from Houston.

Booked the property last minute for a short spring break trip. Owner's mother met us on site for a quick tour, learned a few tips. House was comfortable, spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool (wish the heater worked, would be willing to pay a fuel charge for that, but we made do with floats and wetsuits), grounds, and games. The stock tank has lots of perch and some largemouth bass and mussels; never got a catfish. The firepit is stocked with wood, and when the kids ran through most of it, the owners supplied more for the last night. The outdoor kitchen is well appointed and easy to use. The owners supplied nearly everything - lighter fluid, foil, paper towels (first ever VRBO that we didn't have to get more), coffee accoutrements, board games, pool towels, etc. Almost no downsides. I would not recommend if you're planning to work while on vacation (yes, oxymoron) - the internet can't support video calls, and cell service (AT&T) was very weak. But if you plan to really be on vacation, this is the spot. Will definitely come again.
