Fun in the sun

I came down for a four-day golf tournament, and the location of the property was very appropriate to get to all the golf courses. As well as find dining and cuisine.

Work vacation

We came for a few days for a combination of work and relaxation. Home is just beautiful. The view from the patio are amazing. We had a few issues that were very quickly resolved by management. We are very happy we came and we definitely stay here again.

Anniversary Getaway

We celebrated our anniversary with 3 adult family members. The house was a great fit for our family. It has a covered outdoor patio, but no pool shade. We ended up buying an umbrella at Home Depot, problem solved. Gorgeous golf course and Mountain Views. We have been coming out to La Quinta for 20+ years. This house had our favorite view yet.

Nice location

The property needed some yard work which unfortunately took place during our stay. Men came to trim trees and clean up yard. We weren’t batting use pool or spa first few days. We paid for hot tub for a week, got to use twice. I’m still giving a five, because despite the issues the host took care of everything. We are looking for a long term rental and it is on our potential list. The beds were large and comfortable. We didn’t need the Casita, but would be nice for a third couple.

our stay

the owner and manager were very nice and it was an easy booking. there were some small things lacking like the master shower gave no hot water so first night i took a cold shower. after a few days we learned that something was not plugged it at water heater so once my husband did that it worked. also cable tv was not working but after a few days we fixed it ourselves by playing w/ cable box to get it plugged in. the lighting was very dim in evenings in living room. we do appreciate how they were honest about the days the home was cleaned and sitting empty during covid times for us before our checkin. we wanted one that was a few days and this ways. i appreciated that a lot. great community to stay in. great for riding bikes, not much car traffic at all, gated area. my son loved climbing the trees in that community and running around on some of the grassy areas and riding his bike w/ us. there is a trail right outside the gate that we went on once too which was nice. super quiet community which we loved

Great Potential

The home has such potential, the location is superb, the neighborhood is beautiful and very quiet. As far as the rental goes there is some work to be done. Inside the home there were several outlets that didn't work, the kitchen was minimally stocked as far as dishes go. The dishes were mismatched and chipped. The oven doesn't hold the temp, it was set to 350 and cooking at about 450. We were given the wrong code for the casita and the internet; the pool and spa controls did not work, leaving one to guess how hot the spa was getting. To turn on / off you had to go to the pump and manually operate it (requiring some knowledge on how this all works). Several calls were made and a lot of promises that never materialized. The communication with the owners / managers - they were very quick to respond to our calls but unfortunately did nothing to resolve the issues listed above. I do not recommend this property unless the pool/spa are fixed. Both my husband and I left feeling like we needed a vacation!

What a let down

I had such high hopes for this property and looked forward to the serene setting by the golf course in PGA West La Quinta. I so wanted to enjoy the pool in the low 90's temperatures but during our 6-night stay I never got in the pool or jacuzzi. There were algae growing on the walls of the pool and jacuzzi, the bottom of the pool was very dirty and there were 1000's of boatman bugs in the pool. We were not informed of these bugs being in the pool before we arrived or after we left. I looked up how to combat these bugs and found that they could be treated with chlorine shock, brushing the walls and making sure no algae was in the pool. I watched the pool service person come 1 day into our stay and scooped a few leaves out of the pool and left with doing anything. The house needs TLC and there were few amenities besides the pool to enjoy. The view is amazing, but I could have gone elsewhere to obtain the same view. The lack of communication was also very frustrating. No responses to email messages, text message or responses to messages the host sent us thru 2 different apps they recommended we use. I called a couple of times and spoke to John who acted like I was interrupting him and told me to send a text which I did so I know they saw some of my message, which they claimed to not have seen after our stay was over. I would never stay at another property managed by Shevy and John.....it was a terrible experience and if I were you I would look elsewhere.

Pool Full of Algae

I am sad that I have to leave this review. My family and I have been using vrbo for many years and this is the first time we have had to leave a negative review. We rented this property during the Labor Day weekend. When we arrived and settled it was late in the evening. We decided to take a dip in the pool. Once we got in, we noticed the floor of the pool felt slimy. As we began moving around the water, slowly, whatever had settled at the bottom of the pool began to rise. The water became so thick we couldn't see our own hands if we stuck them under water. Realizing that we were swimming in algae we exited the pool. I notified the management company via email and in the morning my sister called them. They sent out a pool man to clean the pool. He did try, but the pool still remained full of algae. The water was still murky. You could see the first two steps, then the rest disappeared into the swampy waters. I left the management company a voicemail explaining this and asked them to please call me, but never heard back. I finally called vrbo directly and they tried, but they too were unsuccessful. The only reason I rented this property was to spend time in the pool with the family. I felt cheated out of my money and my time. The pool needs to be fully drained and properly cleaned. Our experience was unacceptable and the lack of response/follow through from management was a shame.

My wife Erika and I grew up I the Midwest, she is from northern Minnesota and I'm from North Dakota, we both love to travel and we've visited numerous countries and states with our family. We enjoy camping and adventuring to see and experience different cultures. We have three daughters, Krimzen (11), Brooklyn (9), Regan (7), and one son, Crew (2).

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We first purchased in PGA West in 2016. We enjoyed it so much we started managing properties.

We visited our aunt and uncle a number of times when they came for the tennis tournament, it's always very relaxing and fun and a great trip with the kids.

We decided it would be nice to have a place relatively close to Dana Point, where we live most of the year, that we can get to in a few hours or less for quick weekend getaways or for vacation time when we want less travel.

We love single story homes and our kids love swimming in the pool. We chose this home because it's off the 6th tee box and therefore not in the flight bath for golfers on the 6th hole, in addition, it faces west with beautiful mountain and sunset views, and it's on a single loaded quiet street.
