Amazing large balcony with view of waikiki, from the canal to the ocean. Place was clean, wifi great, fridge and small kitchen. Everything you'd want. Property managers very responsive too. Building has pool, hot tub, washed dryer, etc. Great spot to base yourself for a week or two, being a block from restaurants and shopping, and 10 minute walk to an amazing beach.

The apartment was clean but showed signs of aging (broken items, pealing paint, lack of dishware). The bedding was horrible ... one of us was injured falling off during our sleep due to the oversized-top foam padding which hung over the mattresses ... removal of the foam padding wasn't an option as the actual mattress wasn't conducive to sleep on. The patio was nice and big but needs a table desperately. This apartment is perfect for 2 people but not 3 or 4.

Some furniture needed repair or did not even work. Bathroom very small. Unit was clean. Furniture on the balcony was not what was in the photos. But was ok with what was there. The building is nice, comfortable and convenient. From overhearing others in the building, the roach issue is building wide and is being addressed.

Great Location Waikiki Island Colony

Being on the 40th floor the noise from the street is very loud But that's what happens if you are in the city. This unit had all the amenities that we require. We only had breakfast there. The patio door has issues and it locked on it's own we had trouble getting it to unlock. Luckily this happened when we were inside not outside. The unit was clean! lots of towels. Again all about the view. Alii Beach Rentals are awesome and handle any maintenance issues immediately.

Very small space with a great view

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best thing about this property is the view. It is what you are paying for and it is outstanding! The pool area, laundry room and common areas were always clean and well-maintained. There is a full-sized boogie board, beach chairs, and backpack cooler on hand on the lanai which is great. The lanai area furniture is also nice. The cafe located just off the lobby area is reasonably priced and the food is reliably good. The property is well located close to other good eating venues, (Kono’s and Marugame Udon, were among some of our favorites). Access to the beach is through the Royal Hawaiian Hotel which is just two blocks down. A bit longer hike to the beach at Fort DeRussey will provide a more relaxed beach visit but it takes 10+ minutes longer to get there. On the downside, this is a TINY, cramped, space. It is best for two people but no more. We had three in the room and it was crowded. Half of the one small closet was blocked off so only 6 or 8 items could be stored there. The A/C is noisy and the sliding door to the lanai sounds like a train is rolling through the room (there is no sliding out to enjoy the view while others are sleeping), and it needed to be repaired before we could open the door (it was repaired the next day, so management is responsive). The bed next to the window is less than a foot from the window and the 15 inches of space between the beds is tight. Another 18 inches from the other bed to seating for the "eating area", it is cramped. There is no kitchen but a small microwave, coffee maker, fridge and sink all worked. The tap water had an odd taste and never got cold, but the purified, filtered, water and ice machine available on the 6th floor around the pool area was always good. The bathroom is also tiny. The parking area is very tight and the automated ticketing system is irritating and unreliable. It was frustrating speaking with the support people at the kiosk as we tried to exit. Great views from 40th floor

Upon our arrival to Island Colony one of our room reservations could not be found by the gentleman checking us in. We tried multiple times to contact Alii Beach rentals, even at their afterhours/emergency number to no avail. This is not how we wanted to start our holiday after a rough day of traveling with young kids. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the expense of one room that night. I contacted Alii Beach Rentals the next day and they reimbursed us promptly, apologized for the inconvenience and sent the check in paperwork promptly to Island Colony.Our room was clean on the surface but desperately needs a deep cleaning. Furniture is dated/worn. Hydraulics are broken on the bar stools-you will start out eating at counter height but then be sitting on the floor. Glass on the lanai railing was so mucky and smeared, it did not lend itself well to enjoying the view.The mattresses are so worn out they are literally falling apart, they have placed cheap foam toppers on them but they are still pretty awful with no edge support, you will roll onto the floor if you get too close to the edge and you would be hard pressed to comfortably sleep 2 adults in one bed because of this. Balcony door and windows shake so badly in the wind it may keep you up at niteSome of the pros!-Communication with Alii was typically great aside from their oversight with our reservation upon arrival. The view IS amazing and the lanai furniture is nice. Lots of channels on the TV to enjoy some downtime. Kitchen is well stocked for the basics. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. BBQ area was nice and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub-but sadly they close at 9pm. Laundry area is clean and machines work great. Parking is plentiful and easy. Breaky downstairs at 49er was delish. A few minor updates in this unit would go a long way-please start with the mattresses as a good sleep on vacation is prior

Not bad, not great

This room specifically was more comparable to a motel room than a hotel. It is a 40 floor building with residential tenants and rental property. It’s in the Aqua Skyline Hotel. The room was small, way smaller than pictured. The air conditioning was awful. The AC unit was too small for the space so it wasn’t very cool at all. The beds were more firm mattresses with springs, which weren’t terrible for us. Bathroom is kind of small and they only give you 2 rolls of toilet paper and then you have to buy your own. Not the worst property, not the best. The elevator is kind of annoying because there are so many floors so you’re forever waiting. The pool and hot tub were nice. The check-in/check-out process was easy. The location is awesome so that helps, but if you could find/afford something a little better, I would.

Perfect place to stay

This room exceeded our expectations. There was even appliances that we did not expect! We specially loved buying fresh fruits to make our own smoothies with the blender. Provided plenty of towels both for the beach and for showering. It was the perfect place to stay but, improvements can be made with mattresses. It was not too much of an inconvenience since we only slept for 6-7 hrs at might.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you’re looking for a relaxing and restful stay, this is not the place. The mattresses were HORRIBLE! We barely slept because the entire night we were trying to find a comfortable spot, at one point I decided to just lay on the floor. You can feel the mental spring on the mattress, I was going to flip it to see if the other side was any better, it was just as bad. Also, the fan was completely broken, not sure why it’s still there. The balcony area was missing a lot of furniture, at least from what the online picture shows. The toilet had a lot of issues throughout our stay, it kept getting clogged, at one point maintenance came in to fix the issue. What was weird is that we never called them nor did I get a warning that they were coming up to our room and coming in. I’m not sure how things are being “professionally sanitized” when we arrived the bathroom was not properly cleaned, there were long strands of hair left on the bath walls. The view and location of this place is amazing. We could see the city, mountains, and the beach. Stores, restaurants, and beach were walking distance.

Awesome view and location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 3rd stay in the Island Colony on Seaside and our 1st time in this room. Like the other two rooms, this was superb. The view is awesome - sit out on the lanai, watch the sunrise and check out the ocean view. The beds are comfy and there’s a full fridge. We had plenty of towels and beach towels. The building is secure and there’s a parking garage @ $30/day. Plus, it’s conveniently located to all the action. All this for a great price. Our host stayed in touch with us and access to the room is easy. I highly recommend this place when you’re coming to this area of Oahu!!
