Spacious house with a peaceful garden in the heart of a beautiful village.

This large, recently restored house was once a farmhouse and then the village school until 1940. Although it’s located in the center of the village and just 100 meters from the bakery, grocery store, and café-tobacco shop, it’s surrounded by a large, peaceful, and very private garden with views of the village and the green hills.<br> We have tried to restore this house to provide the benefits of modern comfort while preserving as much of its historic character as possible.<br> Upstairs, it features a large living room with cozy sofas, a new wood-burning stove, and large windows that fill the room with light. Another small living area leads to three double bedrooms with plenty of storage space, as well as a newly renovated bathroom and half-bath. <br>On the first floor, you’ll find a large kitchen/dining room equipped with new appliances. Please note that there is no dishwasher at this time. A recently installed wood-burning stove with an oven allows you to cook and simmer small meals whenever you like. A hallway leads to the bedroom, as well as the laundry room, the bathroom/toilet, and the cellar, which can serve as a pantry.<br>Outside, tables, chairs, and hammocks are at your disposal. Feel free to move them around and set them up in different spots depending on whether you want to take a nap in the shade of the trees, sunbathe, or gaze at the stars. <br>The Aveyron River flows through the heart of this magnificent village, offering spots for swimming, fishing, and beautiful walks. <br>A large, tree-lined park with a playground for children runs along the river.<br>For sports enthusiasts, there are soccer fields, basketball courts, bocce courts, and tennis courts available free of charge to everyone. Several mountain bike trails start from the village, as well as numerous hiking trails. Nearby, you’ll find rock climbing sites, via ferrata routes, canoeing and kayaking, and tree-top adventure courses. <br>Inside the house, you’ll find boules, tennis rackets, card games, chess sets, books, and videos at your disposal.<br>There’s no Wi-Fi yet, but cell phone reception is very good, allowing you to access the internet on your computer by using tethering. There is a TV with an HDMI port that you can connect to your computer if you’d like to watch movies online.<br>In Villefranche-de-Rouergue and Najac, bastides of the Rouergue region (10 kilometers from Monteils), you can explore: their lively markets featuring all the regional specialties, the medieval alleyways as well as the homes of wealthy merchants—whose doors and towers symbolized the residents’ social status in the 15th century—Notre Dame Square and its arcades, the collegiate church with its imposing bell tower, and many other historic sites and monuments…<br>There’s also a wide variety of restaurants, entertainment, and more.<br>In short, a magnificent place to spend your vacation…<br>We hope you’ll enjoy the house and return from your stay feeling relaxed and enchanted! <br>
