My stay at the motel was lovely and perfect

my stay at the motel was lovely and perfect as a solo traveller. the town is small and quiet which is perfect for someone coming from a metropolitan area- ideal to reconnect with nature. i did have trouble with the lock and linda was fortunate enough to let me in. to not have anymore trouble with the lock, i did leave my room unlocked the remainder of the time and had no troubles of worries or break ends. everyone keeps to themselves but open to conversation if they happen. i 12/10 recommend the peach vanilla chai at the local coffee shop. the food was delicious as well.

Our stay was peaceful and quiet

Our stay was peaceful and quiet, which was nice. The town was smaller than I expected, and since everything nearby was closed, we ended up enjoying some ice cream by the river—which turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The motel room itself was modern, though I wasn't a fan of the cabin-style sheets, and it was a bit dusty. At night it was very quiet, but during the day there was some construction both at the motel and along the road. Overall, it was a fine place for a quick stopover on our road trip and a unique little experience staying in a small town right off the highway.

This stay was great

This stay was great! It was central to everything in the small town and its cute shops. The room was clean, neat, and as described. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy the nature of the surrounding area in a place that feels nostalgic and cosy.

Great place, very easy to find, and a great deal

This place was great, very easy to find, and a great deal. The room and bathroom was very clean and the bathroom was well stocked with soaps and towels. The location was a great spot, there's a nearby BBQ restaurant and burger place as well as a very cute coffee shop down the street. The only thing to keep in mind is that door to get it can be a bit tricky but as long as you pull the door towards you as you open it, you should be good. The motel is off the main road however I didn't notice any significant noise due to cars. Overall a very nice place for a very great price, great place for a quick overnight trip.

Nicely updated roadside motel with a kitchenette

This is a nicely updated roadside motel with a kitchenette. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Kitchenette as shown . Small spaces but a nice outside area to eat if weather permits. Recommend as long as your expectations are not for more than this.

Safe, cozy, and had all the essential amenities

A perfect little oasis in the Sierra. Safe, cozy, and had all the essential amenities. Mattress is good, shower is clean and spacious, little kitchen nook is perfect for 1 or 2 to make tea, coffee, microwave, or cook a simple meal on the hot plate. Parking is ample, places to eat to walk to nearby. Keep in mind they close early depending on the season.

Really great place very cozy

Really great place very cozy. Was a little smaller then expected but overall it was great. Had everything we needed and we had access to netflix and really good wifi. They had heated bathroom floors but we couldn't figure out how it worked but seemed pretty cool.

Frustrating stay

When we arrived at the Historic West Walker Motel and opened the door to our room we were shocked. The room was extremely small. About 2feet between the bed and the wall. The kitchenette was a counter with a sunk, a coffee pot, and a hot pad. There was a window AC unit. The spaces on each side of the AC unit had cardboard to keep out the outside. We were able to contact the Luxery hitel by phone abd after a lengthy conversation we were moved to a much nicer room. We were told we wouldn't be able to stay both nights. About 1000 pm we were finally told we could stay in the nicer room. It was a frustrating experience, but I am appreciative that they did move us and decided to let us stay.

No Hot Water

we booked this room as we needed an overnight stay during a road trip. the room was nice and the location worked out great for the trip. the toilet bowl a noticeable smell. and there was no hot water. since we arrived pretty late we were hoping we can shower in the morning and leave but the water was freezing. we could barely wash our faces. there were no instructions as to how to turn the water heater on (assuming there was one) and we were in a rush so we couldn't wait for an answer.

Terrible

Horrible experience, check in was automated, toilet was clogged. Texted to let manager now. 30 mins later we received a text back saying they would send out someone. When it was not fixable we were moved to a trailer with no bed just a pull out couch. Was told we had to stay there as the room we booked was not fixed. Booked 2 nights stayed one. Asked for a refund because our room was not available. NO RESPONSE. Do not stay

About the owner: My wife Erika and I grew up I the Midwest, she is from northern Minnesota and I'm from North Dakota, we both love to travel and we've visited numerous countries and states with our family. We enjoy camping and adventuring to see and experience different cultures. We have three daughters, Krimzen, Brooklyn, Regan, and one son, Crew.

We make annual trips to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, and Tahoe, we've made so many great memories we were honored to have the chance to assist in the operation of this historic motel along with the chance to help other families create similar memories.

We love this 1940's single story motel and our kids love in the nearby lakes and Rivers. We chose this motel because of it's proximity to so many great attractions in the Easter Sierras and for it's wonderful homey feel.
