Silver Star - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to Silver Star, located in Rockaway Beach! Just a few blocks from the beach, this lovely A-Frame cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway to the coast or a trip with your family of three. Featuring a studio and loft with one bathroom, you and two additional guests can enjoy a visit here together. Park the car, grab your bags, and head inside!

Upon entering Silver Star, you'll find yourself in the kitchen and living room area. With a large couch, with queen sleeper and a recliner to relax in, you and your guests will have plenty of space to spread out or cuddle up together. A flat screen TV sits between the two, so pop in a movie, microwave some popcorn, and snuggle up together. Silver Star comes equipped with cable and Dish TV, a Blu-Ray player. The bathroom sits behind the living room area, complete with a shower/tub combo. The owners have also provided a pack-n-play at their home for you and your baby to use, if necessary. Upstairs in the loft, you'll find a queen and twin size bed for you and your guests.

The kitchen has everything you might need to whip up some quick and easy homemade meals during your stay. You'll have access to a microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker (kuerig and drip), toaster, oven/stovetop, refrigerator, and plenty of utensils and dish-ware for everyone in your group. A small dining room table sits in the corner for you to enjoy your meal at, or feel free to head out onto the deck to barbecue steaks and burgers. The back deck, with outdoor seating and a charcoal BBQ, are perfect to use during the warm summer months. You can even hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline in the near distance. There is also a fire pit, so bring supplies for s'mores! Your child will love the small swing set provided by the owners. It also offers a baby seat for younger children to use. You will have use of the fish cleaning station as well as the full size washer and dryer located next to the swing set in the back yard. Bring your boat too, ample parking in front of the garage for your toys, and 2 car spaces in front.

While staying at Silver Star, you'll have plenty to see and do while in Rockaway Beach. Along Highway 101, you'll find several different restaurants and shops to explore. Find the perfect souvenir for your friends and family back home, or just grab a little something special for yourself. Surfing is big here in Rockaway Beach, so bring your board and wet suit from home. You can also take a leisurely stroll across the beach, or go fishing at the Lake Lytle. Good location, good deck and yard , but one unique room shared upstairs. A 5 persons set-up max

Good location, cleanliness for 2 people. However disappointing for non functioning shower, dead bulb on lamp, no minimum condiments , oil fir cooking. Were asked Saturday to possibly leave earlier than 11 AM on Sunday however we never got a feedback from our text to notify the fact that the shower was not functioning at all on Saturday evening !!! Good points and bad points for this property that will not make us coming back .

Not up to par

I'll start by saying that because this property seems to be ran by a management company, my issues are primarily with their services. We did not receive any check in information. I messaged the "owner" on the app letting them know we were on their way and would like the info. We received no response. Check in was 4:00. We arrived at 4:05 and still nothing. Had to message multiple times and ultimately call the company to get the key code. The cleaning was sub par, as there were crumbs all over the counters. There was no welcome information anywhere to be found, and no wifi instructions. We messaged that evening about wifi, was told we would be called and never were. I messaged again and received no response. We got an explanation that the DSL is very sensitive due to weather. Seriously?! No TV or movie night because of it, and in addition the listing mentioned DVD's, which there were none. Also no board games. A mixed box of lincoln logs that were all a mess. The heating. Wow! There was one small wall unit that did basically nothing. There is a wood burning stove, but no wood and no mention that we should provide our own. The blankets in the house were thin (and stained, ew!), so the first night was freezing and miserable. We got wood the next night and it heated the place nicely. But knowing the capabilities of that "heater", it really needs to be mentioned in the listing as that can get unsafe for people really quickly. It was a cold and rainy weekend for our visit. I would never stay at this house again, and will be avoiding the management company as well.

SUPER CUTE AND QUIET

This was a perfect little spot for my friend and I to rest for a couple days. We needed something with a cozy living room for long talks and this fit the bill! There wasn’t a wall unit heater in the living room and it was chilly so we called the CS line and they delivered two space heaters to us! Great experience with the CS team!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place in itself is very nice and Rockaway is a good central location to places we wanted to go. TV has cable which was nice for the the rainy nights. Even using just the two small heaters the place warmed up very nicely. All around great place to stay with one exception. The place could use a thorough cleaning. The refrigerator smelled so strongly of fish that we could not put anything that wasn't air tight in it. Our freshly purchased fruit and vegetables from Tillamook not only smelled, but tasted of fish after a day in the fridge to the point they were not edible. This is understandable though as this is a coastal fishing rental. What was not understandable though was that most of the dishes were not clean. Before using a majority of the dishes we had to wash them by hand as they all had dried food smudged across them. My guess is that whoever stayed there before us left a bunch of dirty dishes for a long period of time and then these dishes were just put into the dishwasher and left as is after the dishwasher did not get a lot of the dried food off. Despite the lack of cleaning though, this was a great place to stay and was a very cute little house for us two to stay at on our honeymoon.

A wonderful escape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation rental was Amazing. We walked in and everything was spotless. The beds were super comfy the house has a huge back yard with a swing set and a fire pit. It also has a wrap around porch for relaxing. Also I used to live in Hawaii so loved the decorations it brought me back to the islands. Overall we Loved it and will definitely be coming back again for sure.

Cozy Cabin

This cabin has everything you need to enjoy your stay at the coast. The loft sleeps 2 adults and 1 child comfortably. The interior spaces are clean, comfortably furnished and stocked with all of the essentials. There is a great wrap around deck for sunning and relaxing. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to a great beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this cabin.

Girls Weekend

The house was cute and comfortable. It was really clean and we had a great time. It was really warm inside, almost too warm and there didn't seem to be any actual heat or thermostat. That part was confusing. Overall it was perfect for the three of us. We will go again!

Just me....no husband, no pets, no kids. A perfect weekend getaway with the perfect amount of living space for 1-2, anymore and it would be tight. But that was expected! Backyard and deck was a bonus to enjoy the weekend! Definitely would reserve again.

Ladie’s Ocean Getaway

My two friends and I arrived and this place was just what we needed for a fun weekend away!! The house was perfect and spacious enough for a blowup mattress downstairs (one gal preferred to be cooler at night) and a very comfortable bed upstairs. It was really nice to wake up to the sun streaming in instead of an alarm. We made good use of the kitchen and BBQ and ate out on the spacious deck for breakfast and dinner. The best part was the beach and ocean was literally a few blocks away and you could hear the ocean at the house as well. It was wonderful to walk the beach in the morning and see the sunset at night. I think the only thing we didn’t have or couldn’t find was sticks to roast marshmallows! But overall it was a great little getaway along the OR coast and would love to rent the house again soon! Thank you for the hospitality!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the house met our needs! The walk to the beach is very easy (flat all the way) and only a couple blocks! I could hear the waves from the house but there isn't a view. The beautiful wrap around deck was great for meals outside and drying towels! Although the house is small (perfect for three) it has everything you need from a kitchen and washer/dryer to a playset for kids and a BBQ! Originally I was perplexed by the lack of big pans and silverware...hint...look in the dishwasher for them before you actually leave the house! I am just not used to having a dishwasher so I never even thought to look in there for more dishes...that's where everything was! My only complaints were that the toliet seat was literally broken and taped with painters tape, the rod for the back curtains was broken, the sliding glass door is really hard to lock, and the upstairs gets WAAAAYYYYY too hot to sleep in. We had to turn both fans on a couple hours before bed and sleep with them all night was miserable. I don't know if there was central air in this house...but definately something to look at or ask about next time. In general, this house worked out great for us and the price was right!

Such a cute and clean little place. Worked perfectly for my husband and I. The only negative was the bedroom/ loft was upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs. I would love to rent this again.

We loved this place. The cottage is homey. It’s a few blocks from the beach. We loved the wrap around deck. It’s a tiny sleep area but the bed was comfortable.
