***We still have beach!!!*** Our rental cottage is located in beautiful Norton Shores, Michigan (Just south of Muskegon, MI) on top of the primary dune overlooking Lake Michigan. Amongst the majesty of a pristine Michigan hardwood forest with 1200 feet of private beach, our retreat is sure to help you reconnect with the beauty and majesty of creation. We have a 1200 Sq Ft, 2 Bedroom, 1bathroom cabin for rent on a daily, weekly or monthly (or longer) basis.

This cabin has a Cook's kitchen on an open main level floor plan with living areas and a full bathroom. Downstairs are 2 bedooms with a queen size bed and bunk that offer sleeping arrangements for 5. Sleeper sofa on the main level offers room for 2 more with space for an inflatable mattress for 2 more if desired. This cabin has an extensive deck attached at both levels that offer spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Full laundry facilities are available in this cabin as well. All pictures shown are from our property!!

Gorgeous views!

I booked this place for the views and the beach access and both were wonderful! The check-in process could have been made more clear (i.e. with the cabin being unlocked/location of key).

Beautiful treehouse with magnificent views

This home had the most amazing views. It was quite mesmerizing. Definitely a place to recommend! I will want to come back again. A lot to do and see in that location. Lake harbor park was very nice as well.

Near Perfect Isolation Retreat

This property was exactly what we needed. A beautiful little cabin with a view, a private beach, and a woodland expanse to explore. Other than the host's property being nearby, you get the feeling of isolated tranquility in a natural setting that was the perfect remedy to the gradual wear of the of the hustle and bustle of normal life. If you like retreating into nature, this is your happy place.

Needs a Deep Clean

The property does not disappoint on view and location. The beach is incredible and very secluded. However, at this price, I expect a little more attention to detail. Views don't make up for feeling grossed out. The cabin needs a deep clean and realistic/practical walk through. ALL of the kitchen pots/pans and most of the utensils needed to be washed before using. For a "chef's kitchen" where things were stored, and what was supplied did not make much sense. With a more remote location, a guest is likely going to be preparing their meals and the "tools" were quite disappointing. Also, the coffee pot did not work and the fridge gave the impression the occupant would be joining us, as it smelled and had condiments and some food left. I would much rather see a clean, empty fridge then use someone's left over ketchup. Lastly, the practical things like a dresser to store a few clothes or kitchen towels were missing. There was no information on things like how the TV works (which it didn't) or check out procedures. I was told to just leave all the bedding and towels as is. Left me feeling like there really is no good cleaning routine. For such a one of a kind property, at a one of a kind price, it was disappointing. Needs a walk through and deep clean. Lastly, there is no mention in the listing that the "private beach" is shared by 3 cabins. I think we gave a young couple a scare as we walked down the steps past their cabin with our family of 5. Love the area, not the place.

Beautiful views and a great beach!

We spent a lovely week in late August, enjoying the spectacular views and the easy-to-access beach. Being right next to the PJ Hoffmaster State Park makes this house super quiet, mostly just the sound of the surf, the birds, and the evening crickets & katydids. Very relaxing.

Our group of friends had a wonderful time here. We spent a long weekend reconnecting, playing games, and catching up. The beach was breathtaking, and the location next to the state park is perfect for those who enjoy the trails.

This property is amazing! Gorgeous view’s of Lake Michigan and our private beach. Loved all the room and the restaurant built kitchen! Our host was amazing❤️

The location is fantastic, and the cabin is so secluded and private that you can disconnect and relax. Nate’s attention was awesome, he was super fast to respond, and easy to accommodate to all our needs! We would love to come back again!

Location/Outdoors are SPECTACULAR!

We could not have asked for a more spectacular setting/location than this cabin in Norton Shores. The views from the house and multiple decks are glorious; full-on lake views from every lake-facing inch of the property. Sunsets, storm-watching, the sound of waves-crashing, and bird watching are possible from the kitchen table, living room sofa, beds, and both decks. You need to walk past 2 other cabins to the stairway of 90+ steps to reach a sandy beach/the lake that was mostly deserted, peaceful, clean, and beautiful. You can hike on the beach to P.J. Hoffmaster State, Grand Haven is a 15 minute drive to the south, and downtown Muskegon and its many lakes are 10 minutes to the north. Getting to the cabin from the car is alittle tricky as you must walk up an incline and a few steps, past another cabin and across a walk-way, but once at the cabin, its very secluded. Be sure to ask for the wagon to transport your bags. The cabin did not have WIFI and the satellite TV was not working, but we wanted to "unplug" so it wasn't an issue for us. We brought our own music system and speakers. The only bathroom is small with a shower stall, small sink and toilet, but it was clean and functional. The open kitchen with large island was great to cook in. Amble pots, pans, dishes, and glassware, but bring your own spices, oils; etc. S/P, coffee, sugar provided. Past guests left mayo, ketchup, mustard; etc. in fridge. The owner and his family were very flexible and accommodating and communication was excellent. If you are looking to unplug, relax outdoors, and be ON Lake Michigan, this is the place!!!

Muskegon is located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our cabins are just 2 miles from Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference Center! We are also home to many state parks, including P.J. Hoffmaster State Park, where you can find 10 miles of hiking trails and a beautiful beach. Take a trip to downtown Muskegon where you will find a variety of breweries and restaurants to enjoy. Muskegon is also the home to The Lakes Mall, which is surrounded by shopping, food and fun! Plan on spending a day with your family at Michigan's Adventure for a day of action and excitement. If you desire a day relaxing in the sun, head to the Muskegon River or the White River where River Rat Rentals and Happy Mohawk Canoe will rent tubes and canoes for your family to calmly float down the river. This property is located in the city of Norton Shores. Lake Michigan is just a short walk from the house. A few miles down the road is Lake Harbor Park, featuring trails, dunes, the big lake, and a channel to Mona Lake, a smaller lake that has a beach of its own. For a day of fun, head to Craig's Cruisers for mini golf, go-karts, arcades, and so much more! All of this is waiting for you to enjoy on your vacation to Muskegon!

A 15 minute drive south will take you to the beautiful city of Grand Haven and all that it has to offer, including the annual US Coast Guard Festival!!

Some highlights in the Muskegon area: -G & L for a Greek cheddar chili dog special – order it with everything
-Try Ryke’s bakery on Terrace St for good old-fashioned baked goods
-The Village Bakery in Spring Lake or their other location - The Baker’s Wife – on Washington in Grand Haven for delicious muffins, breads and other treats.
-Galleries: Uptown and C2C in Grand Haven, and Art Cats in Muskegon.
-Don’t miss the Muskegon Farmers Market. They’re open several days a week, but Saturday is best.
-The Cheese Lady (at the Farmer's Market who also has a storefront downtown Muskegon)
