Large house with heated swimming pool and spa on a 4-hectare property

The “Domaine de Laugerie” is a combination of space, calm and fresh air. A “nature + comfort” destination in a beautiful region to discover.
The Domaine de Laugerie in La Douze is located between Périgueux, Les Eyzies, Le Bugue and Sarlat. All the tourist sites of Perigord (the Dordogne valley and its castles, the Vezere valley and the caves, Lascaux, etc.) are accessible by car between 20 and 50 minutes, and the shops of Périgueux 20 minutes away. The Marterie golf course (18 holes) is 10km away.

The village and its shops are 700 meters away by a pedestrian path. You will find a bakery-patisserie, butcher, grocery store, bar (tobacco sales), 2 restaurants, post office, florist, hairdresser, small market on Sunday morning. The shopping areas (supermarkets) are 20 minutes away: direction Périgueux, in Trelissac (Leclerc) and Boulazac (Hyper U, open Sunday morning). In Périgueux: market every day in the morning, Place du Coderc. Large market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings (city center/Cathedral)

At the “Domaine de Laugerie” you can enjoy more than 4 hectares of fully enclosed wooded park, meadows and woods.
Relax in your private heated swimming pool (depending on the season and weather, approx. 25c in April to 28c in summer) with hot tub (37c) and shower. The pool/spa area is secure (security barrier).
Near the swimming pool, you will have a playground for children under 12 years old (trailer, sandpit, swing, toboggan, quad) and older children (mini football pitch, trampoline, table tennis, pétanque court) …and space for walks, jogging of more than 4 hectares! For you only!!
You will enjoy a large covered terrace with fireplace/barbecue and a raclette / stone grill for 10 people. Adjoining the terrace, a brand new, very practical, fully equipped summer kitchen.
Other relaxation-smoking areas (table and chairs) are arranged around the house according to the sunshine at 360 degrees or for a moment of intimacy.

You will appreciate this old Perigord farmhouse completely renovated: the charm of the old (flint facade, beams), modern comfort, and a neat decoration.
Near 200 sq.m. on 2 floors, a huge living space of 85 sq.m. including a large living room with billiard, XXL sofa and fireplace (functional stove in winter), a dining room for 10 people and a fully equipped kitchen.
5 bedrooms, including a large bedroom on the ground floor.
3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, including 1 bathroom+toilet on the ground floor.
House perfectly equipped with high speed internet, WIFI, ethernet connection, air conditioning (all bedrooms), 4 TVs (including large screen TV in the living room -65 inches- with foreign/English channels, Canal + channels with Formula 1, Premier league, Champions league and Netflix), bluetooth speaker, safe, everything necessary for babies (high chair, folding bed, etc.), as well as iron/ironing board, drying rack, hair dryer, first aid kit, etc…

We had a wonderful week here. The property was superbly laid out for us and brilliant for children. It had everything you could think of. We spent an amazing 2 weeks here, the property had everything you could think of to keep a family entertained, the attention to detail is a credit to all. The property was fully equipped with everything you could need. We’ve stayed at many properties and this surpassed all others.The local town was lovely and the walk into it is down a slight hill so if you have mobility issues this might hinder you slightly. La Douze had a lovely bakery and restaurants. Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area. Thank you to Marc and team for allowing us the enjoyment of this gorgeous, well kept and much loved home. We will return. Tanya

Amazing April stay

We had an amazing time staying at this property. Plenty to do, clean and tidy and only a short walk to the local bakery. Fresh bread and croissants in the morning. Such a lovely property and the staff (Kevin and Amelie were great). Couldn't have asked for a better holiday.

Great holiday

We had a wonderful time in this villa. It is set in really beautiful grounds with great facilities for all the family. The swimming pool was particularly impressive and was loved by our young grand children who did not want to leave it. The accommodation was also very good with plenty of room and comfortable beds. The host, Marc, and Amelie were superb right from when we booked all through the visit. We would definitely go again.

Lovely week away

We’ve just returned from a lovely week at Domaine de Laugerie. The villa is one of nicest we’ve stayed in. It has everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday. The meal on arrival was fabulous and a great way to start the holiday. Marc the owner was extremely helpful and nothing was ever to much trouble. Would highly recommend this villa and will hopefully return next year.

Fantastic property - La Douze

We had a wonderful stay at Domaine de Laugarie. The property was exceptionally clean and well-equipped, with excellent facilities that catered to all our needs. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and the pool table, which provided great entertainment.Our group consisted of four couples ranging in age from 22 to 83, and the accommodation was ideally suited to all age groups. Being able to bring our three family dogs was a huge bonus, as they are an important part of our family and made the experience even more special.The barbecue area was a great addition, allowing us to enjoy outdoor dining together. The host was very responsive and addressed any questions or issues promptly, which added to the comfort and ease of our stay.

Lovely home, great holiday

The home was exactly as you can see in the photo’s, beautifull! The information from the owner is very good. The house and the region offers a lot of activities, so with good and bad weather there is a lot to do. There is a good information folder from the owner with descriptions. We loved walking to the local bakery and butcher. We enjoyed the home and the many castels, caves, little towns, canoeing, etc.

From the time of the booking which we made over 18 months ago prior to our actual stay, the host, Marc was extremely communicative and responsive. We were greeted at the property by Sandrine and her husband who were charming. The facilities at the property were 2nd to none. The swimming pool was well kept as was the hot tub, the rooms were clean and the outdoor kitchen was a terrific asset. The recently added air conditioning in the downstairs bedroom was an unexpected bonus. The children spent hours in the pool and the play area and as adults we thoroughly also enjoyed the pètanque and table tennis. We saw deer in the garden and for wildlife enthusiasts, abundant interesting butterflies, and insects.The village boulangerie and boucherie were very well stocked and great additions to shopping each morning.The weather was extremely warm when we stayed, yet the house remained beautifully cool. We can thoroughly recommend this property and would love to visit again.

Super stay!

This is a wonderful house for a family holiday. Lots of space,lots of activities and games to occupy everyone, including a super pool and hot tub. Arrangements at start and end of holiday are efficient and helpful. The only disadvantage, and it is a small one, is the the house is quite a long way from places to eat out. Overall it is a wonderful property in a great location. Thank you Marc for letting us pretend it is ours for a fortnight, and thank you Sandrine and Georges for your welcome and information.

Simply fabulous

What can I say, just a wonderful stay! Marc was so helpful from the very beginning with all our questions and Sandrine was lovely and helpful during our stay. Everything has been thought of - right down to welcome gifts of wine, drinks etc to the fabulous facilities. It was immaculately clean and our extended family enjoyed our first catch up in 20 months (thanks to Covid restrictions!). We would not hesitate to recommend to a large family or group of friends and we hope to return! We also took our small dog who was welcomed with open arms - always a nice touch!

French Getaway

Property absolutely beautiful. We stayed for a month with friends and family. Everything you need for a self catering stay. Well thought out in everyway. Village in walking distance with a bakery and butchers. Market with local produce. Everybody so friendly in the local village. We tried talking some french which went down well! Supermarket 15 miles away with good selection. Lots to see and do around about. Will remember or French Getaway with fond memories.

A joyous and memorable holiday in a fabulous location.

We can only reiterate everyone's comments! The gite is ideally situated for visiting this wonderful region of the Dordogne and to be able to return to this fantastic house in its' stunning grounds to wind down and relax makes it a 'dream holiday'. There are facilities in abundance which cater for all age groups and Sandrine, a lovely lady, is on hand to help with any queries. Marc was extremely pro-active from beginning to end in ensuring that our holiday lived up to our expectations. Away from the crowds

This property has an idylic setting yet provides every amenity you could possibly want to enjoy your holiday. The host, Marc, is very attentive and easy to communicate with if you need to and your French is a bit ropey (my state). His onsite team are very keen to make sure everything goes well and using point and grunt and a bit of google translate comms generally work. The property is ideally located for trips to most of the Dordogne's tourist spots, but especially the Vesere valley region. It is also only 20 min from the major out of town shopping centres at Boulazac/Tressilac for all your essential requirements. Highly recommended.

Peaceful family holiday in beautiful surroundings

We have just spent two relaxing weeks at Marc's lovely home, as a family of grandparents, daughter and 8 month old granddaughter. Amelie made us feel very welcome on arrival, thank you. Everything was perfect for us - really comfortable beds, well equipped kitchens, great baby equipment, lovely pool and a garden that felt like being in our own arboretum. We were after a quiet and relaxing holiday, so didn't travel about much, however we enjoyed several trips to the old town in Perigeux and to Le Bugue and will certainly explore more should we return, which we hope to do in the future. Everyone we encountered in the nearby village was really welcoming. The weather wasn't brilliant so we didn't make use of the summer kitchen area but can imagine lazy lunches and evenings spent out there. The children's play equipment and facilities also looked great, for children of toddler age upwards. All in all, a great experience and we'd recommend Domaine de Laugerie to anyone wanting a laid back family holiday.

Wonderful in every way!

We loved eveything about oir stay - the house was beautiful and everything we needed for a wonderful time was there. The quad bike was a real hit with our 9 year old especially and our toddler was safe with stair gates and protection from the pool. The walk to the village for the bakers, butchers and grocery store was short and pleasant and the locals were so friendly. We also loved the little outdoor restaurant in the village. It felt like we were in the carribean. The food was reasonable and delicious. Marc and Amelie were on hand for anything we needed and took great care to ensure anything we needed was sorted. Locally we did canoeing in Les Eyzies plus the caves there. Also the michelin star restautant with a beautiful outdoor terrace - 1862, was just 20 mins drive away so you cant go wrong with the location if you have a car. Thank you Marc and Amelie. What a gem of a place.

Fantastic family holiday.

We have just spent two fantastic weeks at this superb property. Three generations of our family had a lovely time enjoying all the property had to offer both inside and outside. We were met by the lovely Amelie who showed us round and similarly by the lovely helpful Sandrine and her husband on our departure. Everything was exceptionally clean and extremely well equipped. The weather was very hot the first week so we hardly moved from the shade of the garden and pool area. Grandad and the children enjoyed the morning walk to the patisserie for fresh bread and croissants. The second week we enjoyed days out to the numerous nearby attractions. We really could not fault this superb property in any way. Marc the host kept us well informed from the day of booking until the day we departed. Would recommend this property to anyone. A Piece of Paradise !

From the initial booking Marc was amazing - responding to all my questions quickly and in fab detail . I’m a bit of a research freak so there were lots of questions ! On arrival everything was perfect . Sandrine showed us around and everything was exactly as described . The house , the pool and the grounds are spectacular . The local village was walking distance and we found 2 lovely restaurants . The local train station was an easy trip into Perigreux where we spent a lovely day mooching around . The local go-kart track was also a huge hit . Everything in the house was perfect although the piano could do with a tune and we would have liked plastic glasses for the pool area - all minor details . It’s an easy drive to Bergerac airport where we collected some family and an easy drive to a good selection of hypermarkets . Amazing home !

The most amazing holiday

We are just on our way home from our stay in Marc’s beautiful house in La Douze. I don’t think any words could do justice to the fantastic time we had, thanks to Marc and his wonderful team who are close by should they be needed. The communication from Marc in advance of and during our stay was the best I’ve experienced and Sandrine met us and showed us around the property. She was so welcoming and friendly. We managed to communicate with a bit of French and English and hand signals! The gîte is so well equipped with everything you need for your stay and the complimentary supplies were a lovely touch. We just couldn’t get over the amount of space we had, not just inside, but the land surrounding the house seems to go on forever. We loved the outside eating areas and the pool and hot tub and had several fun evenings playing outdoor games on the lawn. We were really sad to leave yesterday morning, but Sandrine (plus her husband Tony and the lovely girl helping with the cleaning) made the experience more bearable 🙂 Thank you all for everything, we really hope to make a return trip one day.

Perfect Perigord

A lovely property, well-furnished and well-equipped, with enough space to satisfy even the most energetic families. Lots of delightful little touches both inside and outside the house add to the enjoyment and should ensure that youngsters and adults alike never run out of things to do. The house is located in a wonderfully quiet and picturesque spot, full of verdant tranquillity, accompanied by the melody of bird song that has sadly diminished in frequency in so many places these days. This is a delightful region with a rolling beauty and offering may things to explore from the nearby Aquarium du Périgord Noir (at Le Bugue sur Vézère) to the prehistoric grottoes that contain some of the oldest examples of Palaeolithic art in the world. The owner, who does not live locally, is extremely helpful, seeking to offer as much help and assistance as necessary, always in a considerate and thoughtful manner. It is not possible to recommend this property more highly and still more that can be said to underline its appeal. Since we have every intention of returning, however, you will have to discover such things for yourselves.

Beautiful house and location. Lots of facilities near to some small shops.

The location was very beautiful with a lovely traditional French house, with lots of facilities and within walking distance of a bakery, butchers and cafe. Plenty of walking opportunity. There were two kitchens with lots of appliances. The property was advertised as having a heated pool, however it was extremely cold, even with the high temperatures. This was something we particularly looked for. Unfortunately we found out on arrival that we couldn’t use the quad bike as it had been damaged, as had the spare. However the owner Marc, managed to provide a much smaller spare midway through the holiday (we had to wait in for that). This was definitely a key feature for the children, so a little disappointing but they did get some time to use one, which was appreciated. Overall a very pleasant stay, with a few things not as expected, the play area wasn't as appealing as pictures. The grounds felt smaller than anticipated however it was a lovely location and we would consider returning.

Family holiday

We arrived late first day after a nine hour drive, to be met by the wonderful Ameli who showed us around and explained everything. Tea and coffee were available but no milk. A welcome pack containing sliced bread, butter, cheese, jam, milk, ham, croissants, fresh orange or apple juice would have been appreciated until we could do a full shop the next day. We would have paid in advance for this. With six adults and four children the property was perfect. The bedroom downstairs is an ideal size, but needs air conditioning. If we could have changed anything we would have swapped the kitchen and bathroom around. The tv’s in the bedrooms could also do with English channels. The dining room was large enough for all ten of us to sit together to dine, a really good space. The sofa is quite deep so was difficult to sit right back in. The hot tub steps get quite slippy when wet so could do with fixed non slip rubber matting on top of each step. The swimming pool steps are quite steep for children and older adults to navigate so we felt a hand rail would be very beneficial for safety to hold onto as you get into and out of the pool. Any problems we had were dealt with very quickly. Our overall stay was amazing we love France and visited some beautiful places. Would we use this property again ? YES we would without a doubt, it is a lovely house in a beautiful setting and is so peaceful. We had a brilliant time staying here and were made really welcome by Ameli she is a credit. Thank you.

Excellent séjour en famille à La Laugerie. Tout est fait pour que les petits et les grands passent de superbes vacances. Marc et toute son équipe sont d’une extrême gentillesse et d’une incroyable réactivité. Idéal pour des vacances en famille à la campagne. Nous recommandons ++.

Prachtig huis, schoon en netjes precies zoals op de foto vermeld! Eigenaar Marc reageerde snel als er een vraag was. We hebben hier met de kinderen en kleinkinderen een topvakantie gehad. Bedankt Marc!!
