Flamingo House - Experience Old Florida!

Come experience Old Florida in our circa 1957 Mid-Century Modern home! It boasts open living areas with the bedrooms on one wing of the house. A glassed in lanai stretches across the entire back of the house. The floors are original terrazzo. There are many vintage furnishings throughout the house.

You will enjoy the large kitchen with original working cooktop and oven. It is well stocked and very pink!

Flamingo House has two bedrooms. The master has a king sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen. Between the bedrooms you will find a beautiful vintage tiled bathroom that has been recently updated. We also have a laundry room/half bath combo, and we recently installed an outdoor shower!

There is a full sized sleeper in the living room as well as a roll away bed. The sofa on the lanai is quite comfy as well! You will find the laundry and half bath off the kitchen. In the mudroom you will find plenty of chairs and toys for the beach. We even have a sifter for all the sharks teeth you will find at the beach!

There are many public beaches close by. Manasota Beach is about 3 miles south of us. It has bathroom facilities and public parking. Blind Pass Beach, 8 miles south of us, is a state park with free parking, bathhouse facilities, and wide beaches. There are several excellent public beaches on Venice Island, including a dog beach.

Loved our stay

Wonderful stay. Fenced yard for the dog was nice. Everything was very clean and welcoming. It took us a bit to figure out tv. If I had known it had Netflix I would have brought my password paper. Unfortunately beaches were closed. We hope to return as we have family in the area. Thanks

Nice House close downtown and beaches!!

So I’m having a hard time writing this because I want to be able to rent this house again and doing so will possibly limit my chances in the future!!! We VRBO all the time and have to say by far this house was the best stocked and had everything you needed for a great day at the beach. There was lots of space to hang out once back home. The retro relaxing chair in the living room, OMG so freaking comfortable!!! We had a couple hiccups, but the host is very communicative and responsive. If I was to complain about something. It would be the frying pans need to be updated. Apparently other renters had put them in the dishwasher, so the coating is spotty. Bottom line. I would definitely stay here again!!!

A Weekend in the Past

The pictures online did not do the Flamingo House justice. It was perfect with a fence in backyard, clean and uniquely decorated. Beautiful getaway!

Wonderful Vacation Home!!!

We loved the Flamingo House!! It has EVERYTHING you need, just unpack and relax. Mitzi the owner was awesome, and so responsive! The home is clean, fun, comfortable, near the beaches and great restaurants. It also has a huge fenced in yard great for children and pups. We will definitely return!!

Love this place!

This was our second time staying at the Flamingo House. This time we stayed for 3.5 weeks and love the property. The neighborhood is quiet, everyone around is nice, and the owner is great! Everything is close by and easy to get to, the house is fully furnished with everything you could think of including beach stuff. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Venice, thanks for a great few weeks!

Adorable MCM vibe

Great little property. Love the vintage vibe. Close to everything. Equipped with everything you need for an extended stay. Mitzi communicated quickly and resolved small faucet issue swiftly. Beds were comfy. Great little fenced in area for the pupper. Nice neighborhood. Street is a little busy at times but no problems. Highly recommend.

Fantastic home in Venice

Spacious home with retro character! Mitzi has thought of everything her guests might need & gave us great suggestions for restaurants & activities! Everyone we met (several neighbors,sales clerks,even the cashier @ carwash) was friendly! Being bird watchers, we loved the Audubon rookery,which is nearby & all the egrets & storks that frequent the neighborhood!We hope to return.

Clean and Funky

The house was very clean and maintained very well. It appeared to have original working appliances (stove and oven) and a very unique decor. The house was more than spacious for our family of 5.

Old Florida is a win

This property suited our life style. It is near beaches, golf courses and a 5 star biking trail and many restaurants. We also enjoy the open concept inside the home. The owner is very easy to communicate with.

Large house with plenty of room

Awesome house. Had a small problem and the property owner responded immediately even though it was the middle of the night. Would recommend to anyone. They owner left a detailed book with beaches and restaurants that was very helpful. Will stay here again.

Cute, retro house. The neighborhood was very quiet and nice. Close to beach, restaurants and shops. All the amenities we could need. Lots of great books too. Very thoughtfully maintained. Not fancy or glitzy. Old-fashioned, clean and cute!

Great comfortable House

Mitzi was a great host. Communication was excellent. House was exactly as described. We found house very comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was clean. Tv is streaming only. Netflix included. Outside shower was great and outside dining area comfortable. Car port was nice because it was shaded. General area was beautiful. Very scenic we enjoyed our visit.
